Here's the one's I've hunted with

1. Ch. Stevenson's Stormy II ( AKA Jessie)
2.. Nt. Ch. Snuffy's Bojack
3. Nt. Ch. Warmaths Dan
4. Gr. ch. Nt. Ch. Clear Creek Crickett
5. Walkers Coldwater Prissy
6. Gr.Nt. Ch. Stinson's Bobby
7. Stinson's Banjo
8. Cox's Bobbie Littermate to Dan above
9. Ch. Stevenson's Stone Pony
10. Walker's Bocephus

the top 9 were coon dogs from nose to tail, no deer, no possums, dillers, or anything but ringtails all night anynight.
No. 10 is my buddies newest 11 month old project that is
down right unbelievable for his age. We are having a blast with him right Now. I haven't enjoyed hunting at this level in a long time. He is being hunted by himself with no help and we are shooting coons out everynight with the exception of a couple of den nights. He hunts with us and doesn't go two miles and we don't spend half the night looking for him.
We've been home before 10 twice this week with 2 coons each of those nights and we are hunting deer invested national forest with heavy heavy coon hunting in it.

but my all time favorite was Spring Creek Radar. I wished I had 10 out of him and then that would be my top 10.
the # 1 gyp above was a grand pup and carriers my blood today from her and two of the other 10 were out of him.
He was a stud dog that dominated all the females bred to him. Very few studs can do that.

Top Ten

1. Yadkin River Champ - Jim Meeks

2. Yadkin River Crowder - Gordon Gilroy

3. Yadkin Tar Rattler - Robert Wooten

4. Piney Creek Bogger - Rodney Green

5. Rock River Sackett (old Sackett) - Frank Giddings

6. Yadkin River Kate - Gary Weller

7. Yadkin River Cruizer - Gordon & David Gilroy

8. Rock River Tuck - Frank Giddings

9. Yadkin River Cobra - Gary Weller

10. Yadkin River Jeff - Jim Meeks

I've hunted with hundereds of dogs over the years in many different states but these stick in my mind as some of the best I've seen. Hunted with all of them more than one time and some of them many, many times. The only one of these 10 that I never went to the woods with was Yadkin River Jeff. I passed up an opportunity to hunt with Jeff and have always regreted it. I put him on my top ten because of his ability to reproduce top hounds. With only 333 pups on the ground old Jeff made a huge impact on the walker breed. Compared to some dogs that had thousands of pups on the ground I'd say old Yadkin River Jeff was a very good reproducer of top hounds.

TJ RAYFIELD- i hunted with him for like 2 or 3 months straight when Tom Lechlitner was goin to buy him- he was a coondog- when tom got him he was extremely kennel stale- but he treed coon like heck-- i thought his one downfall was he was a slow strike dog but quick hard and accurate treedog. You cant find one better bred- full brother to elvis attack

some go way back...

and i hunted with...

dual gr ch northern blue hammer V
gr nite ch northern blue hammer VI
gr ch blue dub II
gr nite ch rocky run blue terry
gr ch, nite ch hood's jodie (gr dam of dual gr ch finley river nite hawk
nite ch hody's blue bones
gr nite ch northern blue gail
gr nite ch warren's blue streak

each one was special. gail was a very HARD tree dog! dub II had the best voice i've eaver heard. streak was a very fast tree dog...with the coon. as was terry. hood's jodie and dub II and hammer VI has no problems on colder tracks and could tree lay-ups.

i've hunted with quite a few hounds in the past...but these are indeed some of the better ones. my opinion.

In no particular order......

Gr.Nt.Ch.High Hopes Wild Jessy (Walker)
Gr.Nt.Ch.Scotian Sadie (Walker)
Gr.Nt.Ch.Harry's Calico Cloey (Walker)
Gr.Nt.Ch.Midnite Music Pinky (Redbone)
Gr.Nt.Ch.Sugar Creek Freckles (English)
Gr.Nt.Ch.Rat's Natural Jake (Walker)
Nt.Ch.Rat's Hardwood Joey (Walker)
Gr.Nt.Ch.Clement's Blue Posh (Bluetick)
Gr.Nt.Ch.Cedar Breeze Mountain Dew (Redbone)
Gr.Nt.Ch.Seven Mile Mindy (Walker)

I don't get out much because of where i live, lol,so the first seven are dogs i've owned (sold all seven). The other three are friends dogs or dogs i've drawn along the way and liked.Only one male in the bunch. There's been a couple young females that would have cracked my list had i kept them another six months or so.Jake's Stylish Nookie was a pup i started and made Nt.Ch. at ten months, and a young female we have now,Nt.Ch.Hooker's Hardwood Lexy, should be a real nice dog in about six months.
