So you are saying put the cur hunt in conjuction with a hound hunt but I am under the impression that they will still hunt seperate. Is this correct? I just had a thought.. Which in turn brought up this question. Maybe you all could answer this one first before I elaborate if need be..
CURS IN UKC NITE HUNTS
I WOULD BE ALL FOR IT, AS LONG AS THEY WERE OPEN TRAILERS.
I KNOW BY EXPERIENCE THAT MOST HOUNDS CAN'T RUN WITH A LEOPARD CUR, MAYBE THATS THE REASON THEY WANT LET THEM I DON'T KNOW, BUT I DO KNOW THAT CURS ARE TOUGH ON THE COON POPULATION. AND HOUNDS ARE A LITTLE SLOWER THAN MOST CURS.

Jim, my understanding is hunt same night, same master of hounds, same location but seperate awards. Hounds would have 1-10 places and curs would have 1-10 places.
Mr. Young, Leopards havent been allowed to hunt with hounds a whole lot so I wouldnt put the cart before the horse yet. There are alot of nice hounds out there.
Dan, have you started hunting bobcat yet? Would like to make a trip up there yet this year if I can get a weekend off. Was up at Sparta yesterday thats about the closest area to you that I work.

Terry
Hey Terry. Deer season is almost over and Cat starts in Mn. this Sat. When you hear that there is snow from about Pine City on up, I will either be in the woods or thinking about it. I am getting pretty wound up waiting for the snow but I'm taking it out on the deer so I don't think anyone has to worry about me loosing control yet. Hope you can make it for a day or two.
Take care,
Dan

Where you from in Ohio? I am near Springfield.
The hound rules were made around the style of hunting the hounds do and the Cur & Feist have a different style of hunting.
Yeah but look at the score cards and rules, and everything is the same. We all play by the same rules right now to get a cast win, strike points, tree points, everything is pretty much the same except they don't hunt together.
Todd, I use to attend a lot of UKC hunts in NC that held a dual hunt, hounds and curs at the same time. It worked out really well with the exception that the club just didn't give it time to progress and grow.
