WHY ARE REUNION CAST WINNERS NOT INVITED WHEN BBOA ZONE OR STATE CAST WINNERS ARE? THERE ISN'T ANY LESS COMPETITION IN THE HUNT IS THERE???? A CAST WINNER FROM THE BBOA NATIONAL BLUETICK DAYS IS INVITED. I DON'T GET IT. IS IT BECAUSE BBCHA IS INVOLVED? ENLIGHTEN ME PLEASE. TY IN ADVANCE...

CYNTHIA, ACTUALLY IT DOESN'T SAY A WORD ABOUT SHOWING DOGS. I THINK ITS JUST A SPECIAL HUNT. IN THE BLUE BOOK IT LAYS OUT THE RULES AND NOTHING ABOUT SHOWING DOGS IS MENTIONED. IT READS:
All bluetick cast winners (with plus points) who are members in good standing from the following events:

1 *BBOA National Bluetick Days
*UKC Autumn Oaks
* UKC Winter Classic
*BBOA Zone/State & Sectional Championships & Hunts

2 High scoring male/female from National Bluetick Days All Blue Hunt

3 King and Queen of Hunt at Grand National Bluetick Reunion

4 Any Bluetick placing in the top 20 of the UKC World Championship

4 All Bluetick hounds must qualify each year before the BBOA Bluetick Invitational NITE HUNT.

I GUESS THE KEY WORD THERE IS NITE HUNT. SO I AM TO ASSUME IT IS ONLY A NITE HUNT. AND IT RUNS ADJACENT WITH THE ALL BLUE HUNT ON THAT THURSDAY NIGHT.

As the Invitational Show was not adopted untill the Board of Dirctors meeting at the end of Jan. So at that time only the hunt portion is in place for the 2002 Bluebook. The show part will be in the 2003 Bluebook, and yes you should have gotten your slip then and there at the sectional as each zone has them and are suppose to be handing them out at the sectionals.

What Zone was this event held in?? Give me location and date and I'll get the Zone to take care of this ASAP, as this is not what is suppose to happen.

TCB, your right as this is an event sponsored by both organizations, thus you only have to be a member of one or the other, and this is our event (Invitational) and it was voted on by the Board of Dirctors that only hunts that require you to be a member of BBOA that they would be qualifying events.

We are only in our 3rd year so we are always learning and growing, if you think it should be another way, get with your Directors from your Zone and make it be known.

Well, what if you only allowed "winning BBOA members" an invite? Whats wrong with that? If a BBOA person doesn't win......They miss out. Might bring in a few members as well. Just a thought.................................TCB

Well, I guess

you could do it that way, but then you are looking at the chairman going through 2 nights of hunters and cast winners and then cross logging them with the membership to see who is a member and who is not. Now, seems to me most folks who hunt and belong to an organization do so becasue they want to, and in your area alone you've had 5 sectionals, a Zone hunt, and then there is Zone 6 events in SC that you can attend, plus Winter Classic, Autumn Oaks.........and of course National Bluetick Days........Our National Event of the year. Lots of chances to qualify for the Invitational, that is why we accept the King & Queen of Hunt, and now for the Invitational Show the King & Queen of Show.

But, like I said before, I'm only one person, you need to contact your Zone Directors and get them to move on the change if that's what the Zone wants, and then it can be brought up in the Directors meeting and if passed it will come before the membership at Nationals and voted on either to pass or fail by those in attendance of the meeting.

I don't set policy nor do I dictate policy........we work by our membership and as a member it is up to you and others who feel the same way to contact and make your concerns be heard.

Still trying to figure some of the options on this thing out !!

You should have gotten a Blue slip for the Show for the Invitational (if you are a member) that day of the event. I will pass it along next time I talk with your Chairman, but you may want to call him so he can get it out to you ASAP. I just wonder if anyone else got one that day either???? I will make note and make sure they get up with all the winners......as this was your Zone Championship for Zone 5.

Contact David and ask him about your qualifying slip, only thing I could think of is thye Chairman for the National regarding the Show Invitational is in your Zone and maybe he is going to handle it for your Zone also?????? Call and make sure, as I will to when I get the chance.

I just finished the ads for the Southern Fall Classic, and we will have a full page ad in Bloodlines in Sept and Oct so be looking for the times and information regarding this event !!!!! By the calls and Emails it looks like its going to be a good one !!!!!

Mark, I will definitely be there Friday Night, but if we are playing for first place in the league (MY Football Team) I will be coaching my kids Saturday Night. But I WILL HELP as much as I can in either case if you need anything! Thanks again.................TCB

Glad to hear it

Hope to see you and many other Bluetick folks there, this is just got me pumped up, can't wait for Oct.

Just talked with my daughter and future Son-In-Law as they will be there, and then we can get some visiting in afterwards. One thing for sure, I'll use all my vacation up this year !!!!!!!

This is a great chance for another major event to be held in the South for ALL hunters to take part in and enjoy !!!

It will be fun to see many old friends and making new ones, and I'll kinda be helping but more of a supervisor job on this one !! LOL

This event has been named the "Southern Fall Classic" and be looking for our ads in Bloodlines in Sept and Oct for times and the specail awards to be given away.

I am looking forward to coming back to NC for a visit and some ole fashion Southern Hunting, and it looks like a great event in the making.
