squirrel dog

he is the only worthy tree-hugger that i have come across to date. There is one down by you that can make for an interesting hunt once in a while. lol when it warms up a bit we will see if he can work the night shift too...

mac attack thanks or the invite upon that nice spring nite

the horizontal white out was fun! and measuring the water in your marsh was a thrill also!!!!too bad it wasn't a couple inches deeper so my belly would have gotten into it too, might have shrunk and shriveled that down nice 'n tiny like it did sumthin else??!! that coma bred pupof yours looked good for his 9 months and experience, hittin on the trees and then layin back shouldn't be anything to worry about. that scent gets rubbed off and causes the pups to second guess themselves......he may not be looking as good as your last pup?? I don't know .BUT LOOKIN DARN GOOD IN MY OPINION, plenty of natural instinct!!! wishin yer wrestlers plenty of luck and maybe we can hunt again Monday
?!?

Thanks ron,

i hope the weather is a little nicer to us next time out, but it could always be worse. he has a lot of work to do to keep up with pony and bella but that will come with time, hopefully

mac attack that pup wouldnt be out of bo x shea would it?

Bo X Shea

Dchartt, Yes Cooper is out of Bo X Shea. He has been doing a very good job the past few weeks. Hunting fairly close but we have enough coon that he can get away with it for now. I really like him. Do you have a pup off this cross?

'PR' Tree Shaker

Yes I do, I just got him 2 weeks ago. He hasn't been started yet and I have had him out around 5 times, lastnight he got around 600 yards from me but he likes to get on farm roads and burn them up. Still can't complain he went from not leaving my feet to 600 yards in a couple times out. He's green as grass but I sure do like him so far, big hound with the looks, I could tell he was a brother to yours just from that picture

Posted by mac attack on 05-24-2014 12:02 AM:

I really like Cooper so far. He is only treeing easy ones so far, short and warm tracks from what i can tell. He does not open up on track unless it is a hot one. I have not looked up to see an empty tree yet and hope he keeps that going. He is a little immature when hunted with others but I guess I would expect some of that from a 10 month old pup. Good luck with your pup and post a pic if you get a chance. I would like to see him.

Good looking pups

Both of your pups look to be put together very well. Joe zinn gets credit for making my pup too. I remember seeing the Lincoln / legend female pups and liking them a lot too. Good luck with your pups!

anybody ever get to hunt with ol Ragin Bo

Posted by mac attack on 05-26-2014 11:20 PM:

If you send joe zinn or James b trice a pm on here, they would be more than happy to tell you about his hunting style. I would have liked to hunt with the parents but being from halfway across the country made that somewhat tough to do.

I have talked to Joe and James about bo i was just wondering if any of you guys ever got to see him go, turned one lose yesterday for that pup he didnt tree it but he wouldnt give up on that track for all i know that was his first track he ever got to work, tree switch didnt click yet but he worked that track enough to make me happy

Posted by mac attack on 05-27-2014 03:44 AM:

He will tree!

Cooper had a little trouble treeing and still does not want to tree with other dogs sometimes. He still leaves to check himself more than he should but I would rather he have the coon than grab a tree and not having a coon. Some nights he looks like a stud dog and some nights he looks like I dropped him on his head. Gets better and more consistent each time. You will really like what you see in months to come

I AM VERY CONFIDE3NT TJAT HE WILL BE FINE

I think byh November you won't hardly remember, what he is doing now!!!! We had a decent hunt lastnite, eckerrs male is tad chubby but still has it. Figuring on winning reg. and nt.ch. tomorrow night!!!! ya know what I said avbout Eckert dog? Well that's what Mary Jo always tells me!!!!

Posted by dchartt on 06-28-2014 04:47 AM:

Shakey treed his first wild coon lastnight tookem over an hour and the track was 1000 yds plus, ended really bad at the tree he bumped into an electric fence at the tree and wouldnt go back to treeing talk about freakin bad luck what the heck are the chances in that?!?!?! Anyway i gotem back around the tree and rolled it out to him to letem know he did right, couldnt really think of what to do at that moment...well see how he progress's from here i think hell be fine he just seemed a little confused and wanted to keep runnin track

Posted by ronald schultz on 07-02-2014 05:56 AM:

electric fences must be a family trait?!??!?

What ya think macattack?!?!!? He seemed a little different on that tree tonite, that's why I stepped in there and socialized with the shluppus a little, he is turnin out!!!!
