Tramp X Creek pups

I am getting some nice reports off of the pups from this cross. The guys down south that are able to get them out for some woods time have been giving me some pretty impressive reports for some 6 month old babies.
I felt this would be a nice cross and am sure glad I made it when I did. The next chance I get I hope to get my pup Jimmy out with his Momma. We hunted Creek last Sunday night as it had warmed up into the 20's. As always she got in and got treed but it was a den.

Hunting

Belle (Tramp x Skeeter) is heading south for some hunting the rest of this winter. I expect we will get her finished to Nite Ch this year. Not sure if we will breed her or not this year. Time will tell.
I have a female here (Jet x Annie) to hunt with the young dogs. She started her life here as a pup 5 years ago. Nice looking and acting. We will see what her potential is and go from there. Creek is great to hunt young dogs with but I want to make a couple of crosses with her yet and I am worried about losing her every time I turn her loose. Her son Jimmy (Tramp II x Creek) is as nice as they come. Both him and Sledge (Shadow X Hammerhead) will be fun to get out together. Sledge and June Bug (Doc x Schotzi) are still down South and I have not got them back up here yet. Looks like we may get a break in the weather mid week so hope to get out.

Dave I have erased everything in my PM box that I can find and it still says I have 70 messages in my folders. Dave we don't have any plans at the time to breed anything to the Tramp Semen. Everything is fine here Dave. Take care.

Hunted the Jet and Annie female tonight and she did a great job. Two drops and Two coon. I am looking forward to hunting her with some young dogs.

Tramp II X Sky

Last night of the kill season in Wisconsin and got a nice pup report from joe Meyer that his Tramp II pup split from his Guage male 600 yards with the meat. Pup is just 7 months old.

Smokey River Tramps Jimmy

I took my Jimmy pup out of Tramp II and Creek out with Rock Ann tonight for some exercise as he has never seen a coon. That litter is 7 months old now. We had a bright moon and a slight wind out of the east with temperatures right at freezing. I was not expecting much tonight.
First drop Ann and Jimmy fired in there and Ann got struck closely followed by Jimmy. The first thing I thought was that he was barking dog but I could see on the garmin that he was not following her but going his own way. Ann came down treed and he came in and located up with her. When I got in there he had gone on and Ann had beat that one to the tree so I sent her on. Jimmy was already trailing out and she went the other way. They both ended up on a den tree that she locked in on and he was locating up again. I wanted to make sure I saw something before I handled him but did not see anything on the outside so I sent them on. Jimmy went left and opened and Ann went right and opened. It was not a great track but they kept it open. It was mainly a foot of water in there with a couple of inches of ice so not too easy to get around. They both ended up together in the direction that Ann was opening and she locked down on a big tree. We let Jimmy work the edge of the water and he also ended up on that tree with her. Again locating up so I went in and tied both of them to check out the tree. This time they had him up in a crotch. It fell out of the tree dead so not alot of action for Jimmy but he did get to pull some fur. All in all a pretty good night for his first night out. I won't be able to leave him at home anymore.

Darren,

Jimmy is progressing every time we get him some action. We wanted to get him out last night for a drop after he seen his first caged coon on Wed. and we were pretty excited when we left the woods.

There is a lot of Tramp and Creek in Jimmy. We get a kick out of how he looks a lot like a male version of Creek and has the great personality of both Tramp and Creek. Rock Ann has been a great dog to start him with. She is a go hunting, get struck, get treed and have a coon in the tree dog!

Gary,

Thanks. We are going to have some fun with Rock Ann and Jimmy this year. Hope to have Jimmy at the point where he is ready to be singled out the next time Ann comes in heat. Jimmy is starting like Sledge did. Always went hunting and is starting to get an independent streak to him.

Mr. Jack,
He not only Tree's like Tramp he sounds like him too. I think he will develop a chop on the tree like Creek at some point. He seems to have the best of both of them in him! We are looking forward to the next time out!

Jimmy is really coming along nice so far. I am looking forward to you getting Sledge down there also. He is has some of the best breeding from Mr. Jack and Jeremy Purvis Kennel along with the Breeding of Bullet II and the breeding of Gary Vining. He always went hunting and I believe is going to be pretty independent. I am glad we partnered up on some dogs that we should be able to keep in the woods year around. Good luck with Cotton if you make it to the hunt. I think her and Floyd will make some nice pups if we get it done.

Tramp Bred pups

Sledge has been down in Alabama for a couple of weeks and getting settled in. He is quite independent but will make a nice one in time.
We have been working Jimmy by himself on some hot coons and he is making progress every time out. Goes hunting by himself and is opening on tracks just needs to get more confidence on trees. He is coon crazy. 8 months old now. We are still running him half of the time with Rock Ann. She is a solid hound and nice to run a pup with.

We have been working Jimmy alone most of the time as of late. He did a real nice job on turned loose coon tonight. Starting to tree up nice. He has a long way to go but he is progressing nice. Nice mouth and a real looker. Goes hunting good and is coon crazy. He will be 10 months in a couple of days.
