That's to bad, seems we both have had trouble keeping some of the good ones around as long as we would like too. I've been trying to figure out a Friday night to get over there and see tramp in the woods but have had to much going on. I'll get over there one of these weekends to take a walk in the woods and shoot the bull a little.

So sorry for the loss of such a fine hound this way. What an awful shame to lose a dog like this that you like so much. Best of luck with his pups. I sure hope you find his replacement in that litter. Take care

Thanks to everyone on the words and kind thoughts on Tramp. I was blessed to have had him here. He has a litter that is 8 weeks the litter out of Creek that will be 5 weeks and another female due in early September. All up here in Wisconsin.

Tramp II x Creek

For all of those who have sent a deposit the pups will be ready to go in a week. They will have had another round of shots and will be wormed at that time again. I think everyone will be happy with their pups not a dud in the bunch. Please let me know what your plans are for getting your pup.
Hard to believe Tramp is gone yet. There is a pup that sure resembles him in looks and I think will have a heck of a mouth on him also. Should be a nice cross.

I made it down to the Fall Roundup in Tennessee last week to hunt a few nights. I have Belle with a hunter that is going to put a couple of good months on her during the hide season. I will be hunting Creek and Sledge together along with my Doc/Schotzie pup when she is ready. MayBelle is going down to Iowa to get a couple good months put on her with a friend down there. As you know it is hard to get all of them hunted but I think we have it all worked out. I kept a male and female off of Tramp II. One out of the Creek cross and one out of Sky. I really like them and great acting pups. They ended up in good hands with most of them going to the south so they should get a chance. A couple ended up in Iowa with friends that are good hunters too. Good to hear from you and take care.

Got things worked out with a friend of mine with the pup, she is in great hands & only 30 minutes away. He has 3 daughters that are really spoiling her. She will get a lot of woods time next spring, he said she can sure light up the hollow when she wants, take care & keep in touch. Thanks Heikki

Creek and Sledge

Had a nice hunt with Creek and Sledge tonight. Two drops and two coon. Sledge was a natural from the first night in the woods. I look forward to hunting him by himself later this season. He has a long way to go but hope to be putting him in some hunts next year.

Hunting

Cut Creek and Sledge loose last night and Sledge got the strike on Creek and they ended up in a dozer pile and had to pull them out of that. Cut them in the woods deeper and Creek beat one to the tree. Sledge did not want anything to do with that. Sledge was hunting out by himself and Creek nailed a layup. Sledge ended up coming into that tree. It was a nice big coon so we took a shot and no luck but the gun jammed and no matter what we tried we could not get the shell to eject so that one lived to run another day. We got home and ran a tube down the barrel to get the shell out and the casing had a crack on it? It must have expanded so it would not eject. I asked my son what make of shells they were and he said they were some Federals. I told him not to use those anymore. I have never had that happen before. Well we cleaned the gun good and hope to hit it tonight. Supposed to get some rain today and stop about hunting time.
Seems like Sledge is going to have an independent streak to him as he does not follow another dog around but hunts out himself nice. Creek usually comes in heat later in the season so it will be nice to single him out then.

I've been down with some kind of bug here for the last couple of weeks. It seems like it takes me a lot longer to get over these things than it use to. Sure miss Tramp but Creek has been herself and getting them treed every night we can get out.
A cold snap set in got a couple of days with wind chills around zero degrees
We will get out more after deer hunting is over for sure

For the folks that got pups off of this cross please post your pics and videos here. I have been getting some really impressive young pup reports off of this cross. They are just a little over 5 months old. I got one video of a pup on a caged coon and man did he sound like Tramp!

Happy New Year!

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! My two Tramp pups are doing good and will be six months old shortly. They sure have some nice mouths on them and look great. We have had some nasty cold weather here for awhile now. Hope it gets better when the coon are rutting so we can get out some before we get too much snow. Stay warm and good luck with your hounds in the new year.

Cold

The cold snap is supposed to break for a few days so we are going to try and get out tonight. I have Sledge, June Bug and MayBelle in areas getting some action where it is not so cold. The Dixie female is in Tennessee with my partner on her. My two Tramp pups are under 6 months so they are up here yet enjoying the weather with Creek and Belle they will be started in a couple of months.
It is likely I will not be able to keep all of my young dogs and give them their due so I may be looking for some partners or may even sell one or two. They are all starting nice so we will see how they progress into the Spring.
