Crocket Jr second time to the woods and he gets treed. Larry and I were listening to Crocket work out a bad track and get treed when all the sudden we hear Jr start locating and get excited about treeing. Completely natural and untrained. I have never shown him s coon and didn't have to hiss him on the tree. I went to the tree and leashed him with a pat on the head.

we will have a fish fry on Saturday at our camp in Cole Camp, Missouri at the Missouri State Hunt. hoping to visit with some of the owners of offspring and possibly see some of them. come by and enjoy a great meal and great fellowship!

Retiring Crocket to the stud pen and air conditioning at the end of this year. He has earned that privilege! It's time for me to start pushing some of his pups and with several friends help there will be lots of offspring in the hunts next year all over the country.

crocket and misty II

seen some good things out of misty in the week she has been here in iowa she was green as grass when she got here and had never seen a coon in her life. First night out with the other dogs ( mind you she still hasn't seen as much as a coon hide at this point) she opened on track and went hunting good. 2nd night layed out a drag with scent only (still hasnt seen a coon ) she ran the track great when she made a small lose she drifted nicely, picked it up and treed. when you unsnap the lead she is all buisiness.3rd night she finally sees her first coon! wasnt real excited at the box trap only was connecting the dots between the smell and what makes it . got the coon out and let it go SHE WENT NUTS!!! open ed soon as she smelled the track, gonna be a quick strike dog, smoked it all the way into the tree super nice mouth did a good job treeing. dumb coon made the mistake of coming down the tree whoops! she latched on like nobodies buisiness hung it back up she treed awesome. natural coondog looking forward to more good things to come. will keep ya posted on the progress

I hope she sets the woods on fire and makes a top hound. Thanks for giving her the chance to shine. Keep me updated with her progress.

I looked at the Crocket x Jazz pup today. What a looker!!! Good ear, bone and attitude. She is about 1/4 mile from the house and I could hear her up the creek. She is going to have a horn on her.
