Dozer covered Ruby today. I'm going to skip a day and have him cover her again for good measures. I really hope that Ruby takes. These should be some super pups.

Youth Nationals

Hunter and Dozer Jr had a dead cast at the Youth Nationals. No coon were scored. Hunter did a good job calling Jr for what he did. 1st cut they had 2nd and 2nd circle. 2nd cut Jr got last strike and was minused. He was stuck on a high wall and I had to handle him. On their 3rd and final cut Jr got 1st strike, it was a rough track. One of the other dogs got treed 1st. Jr kept working the track and about 6 min later was called treed. When we got to the dogs they were split, Jr ended up on a big den. Both dogs were circled and the hunt was over.

I am proud of Hunter not only for how she called Jr, but for how she conducted her self and her sportsmanship. We were hunting some big steep hills. One of the other handlers was a tiny 6yr old girl. As we were going down one of the steep hills Hunter took her by the hand and helped her down so that she wouldn't fall and told her she could stay with her. It's moments like that that make a father proud.

Last night I took Ruby out for the first time since she's out of heat now. It was actually the first time she's been out in a while. Ruby confirmed to me why I want pups out of her and Dozer. She got in there quick, struck her tracks and finished both of them with a coon at the end. Choo Choo was with her on both drops, she opened on track very well and treed on both trees but was a little loose. I'm not to concerned it's only her 9th time out. I cut Jr and Choo Choo for 1 drop last night also. They hit a rough track and ended up on some property where I don't have permission so I caught them up. The night before last I cut Jr and Choo Choo 2 times on the first cut they struck a good track, drove it and got hooked. It was a great big oak, couldn't find it. On the second cut they hit a decent track, took it a couple hundred yards and got hooked. They had a kitten coon in that tree. I've heard some loud females over the years but when Choo Choo lets it all out, her mouth is unbelievably LOUD. She is going to be louder then most males she hunts with.

Another winner!

I received a text from Tracy Stewart late last night after his female Night N Days Stylish Nero got her first win (AKC). He said Nero got treed and stayed treed with the meat while the other dogs ran all around her. Congrats Tracy and Nero!

Dozer's oldest pups are just over 2, and as of now I only know of 3 of them that have been in hunts.
-Dozer Jr is a Nite Ch
-Hoe has a 2nd place win
-Nero has an AKC win

Hoe and Nero have only been in 2 hunts each. I know of a couple others that are doing a great job that should be going to the hunts this fall. It's no accident that Dozer is reproducing some really nice pups. The top and bottom of his pedigree is stacked with reproducers.

Dozer pups on the way!

The Dozer X Ruby pups are literally in the making. Ruby is getting bigger by the day. These pups will be due around 11/14 and will be $300 each. The litter will be eligible for the UKC performance program and the PKC super stakes program. I have been looking forward to this cross for quite some time and very excited that they are on their way, my fingers are crossed that everything goes okay.

The clock is ticking!!! More Dozer pups are gonna be hitting the ground, it's time to make a choice!!! You can either hunt a Dozer pup or have to hunt against one. Choose wisely.

I'm planning on leaving on Wednesday for A.O. I will have Dozer and Dozer Jr there for your viewing, so stop in and see us. Jr is on the wait list for Friday at A.O. and I may take him to the PKC Labor Day Classic on Thursday as long as I'm able to walk good by then. I'm in the middle of one of the worst flair ups I've ever had with my low back, so time will tell. Either way I plan on being there and visiting with everyone.

Ruby is getting bigger every day and acting great. These pups are due on 9/12

My buddy has Dozer Jr littermate brother name Diesel. Very nice hound and he is a nature. He was running and treeing coons without ever having one knocked out to him. He was doing everything by scent and nothing by sight. Very nice.

I had a really good time at A.O. visiting with everyone and appreciate all the intrest in Dozer. It sounds like there are some more females coming to be breed in the near future. I got to hear about a couple more of his pups and again it was good reports! I withdrew Jr at the beginning of our cast we had some males that just didn't seem to like each other and I didn't want to take any chances.

I want to say congratulation to Krystal Lear and Megan Perez for their success showing at A.O. and thanks to Krystal for riding over with me and helping out. Also, Krystal great article in the September issue of the Bloodlines "Living the Dream" in response to your thanks... You are more then welcome! Any time.

I also want to give a big thanks to Rod Arrowood in IA. for hunting Hoe for the last 6 mo. She came back in good health. I turned her loose last night and she did the job right and treed a coon.

Ruby is getting big as a house, she is due on the 12th. I can't wait!!! Ruby is breed to the hilt and is a COON TREER'
These pups will be UKC PP and PKC SS eligible.

Ron Smith brought his Daisy female over yesterday and was breed to Dozer. She has a 1st and 2nd in UKC. Ron hopes to get her finished before she has her pups. Daisy is off of Smiths Stylish Chief and his Babe female (Tall Timber Zach X Banjo Cookin Cassie) This blood has already been crossed on Dozer and it has worked.

I will forever be dedicated to helping out at your stud tent. I was glad to hear updates as well on some Dozer pups. I was even more excited to hear about Diesel ! Daniel, I'm glad you got that Dozer pup. Hopefully he'll turn out to be a nice one. Keep me posted on how he does.

Rod, I got to agree with you. Sunday when I went out to the kennel to feed, Hoe started talking to me and I busted out laughing. It's funny how you miss different things about certain dogs.

Thomas, I'm glad to hear that Trixie is doing good for you. Keep her in the woods and keep me up to date on her.

A little late...but this is Hoe with Chrissy's son, Sean, at Autumn Oaks. She's such a love bug Shows that not only does Dozer throw good qualities for the woods..he also throws good qualities for around the kennel and the family.

Did I mention...aside from the size of some, he throws some pretty nice conformation as well

I had Hoe out last night and she looked pretty good. She made 3 trees and I was able to find 2 of her coon. Her second tree was a great big tree surrounded by a bunch of underbrush and was very difficult to shine, so who knows.

I breed Ruby on her 12th and 14th days. If she caught during the 1st breeding then she will be due today, if not, then Sunday. This morning when I left for work she was acting normal. I will up date when the pups are born.

The final count is 11 pups! So far everyone is doing good. That is a really large litter, especially for her first one so my fingers are crossed.
