GRAPE PIE

4 cups blue grapes 3/4 cup sugar
1 Tbsp quick cooking tapioca 1 1/2 tbsps lemon juice
1 tbsp grated orange rind, or 1/2 tbsp grated lemon rind

Stem grapes and slip pulp out of skins. Cook pulp, covered, until seeds loosen. Press it through a coarse sieve to remove seeds. Mix strained pulp with skins, sugar, tapioca, lemon juice and rind.

Line a pie pan with pastry, fill with grape mixture. Cover with lattice or top crust. Bake in hot oven 10 minutes, then lower heat to moderate and bake until done- about 15 to 30 minutes longer.

No! I don't know why it was orange when it first came over the horizon. Usually they are yellow. You can see a diagonal line going across it. That was a small tree limb that got in the way a little bit.

Hi There!

Umm.. WE have.... SNOW on the ground here! Akkk... not much but enough for footprints etc... Supposed to get a few INCHES later on this week... LOL... least it melts faster this time of yr BUT... being on this Southern majority thread I get SAD when I se you all having such nice SPRING stuff already! lol... I'll live.

Thanks for the prayers y'all! My mum is doing well, she saw her Dr today but I haven't heard how it went yet. Webster is doing pretty well so far on the upper amount of the meds... I SURE hope it continues to work... the vet bills will be very difficult on us if he needs to go to the BIG hospital....

I stayed inside today and hibernated after morning chores.... Spring.... where are you??????????? lol....

Oh... that grape pie sounds different... not sure what I'd think of it? I sure would love a big slice of Peach Pie right now though... Yummmmmm...... or pecan pie... just cooked...
HappyHunting!!!! Heather

I have been invited to go to the Pennsylvania, Ohio border on a short 3 day trip, and a friend told me [ because she knows Im a sweet tea fanatic] that they dont have sweet tea up north. Being born and raised in the old south [Virginia], sweet tea is a staple of life, and I just thought it was everywhere else. Anyway, is this true, because Ive never been across the Potomac river or north of the Mason Dixon line in my life, [unless you count West Virginia, but I dont think you can because the yankees stole it from us]. So is there sweet tea up north or not. If not I may have to cancel my trip[ha , ha]. Is it so or not??? GOD BLESS YALL ALL.
you cant count wva ! were considered the most northern of the southern states - at least thats the way they annouce it in the miss america pagent - lol ! wva has plenty of sweet tea ! lol

Darned if I know where you would find the answer you desire. It's hidden in the conglomeration if there was one. I'm not sure the question was ever answered. I don't think them northern people even know what our kind of sweet tea is! You sure can't find what doesn't exist!

Hope you get a good stand on your peanuts.
