JV, that wasn't me. It was on a friends property and he sent me the pics. Have been told since then a 14 pointer was killed in a pecan grove next to our place. My boy does deer hunt and hunts next to the grove. He is gone be sick. Suspose to have pic of it coming.

Thanksgiving night I got to hunt with Travis Thorn and his son Colby on Colby's first coon hunt. These Blue dogs treed 3-and we let Colby due the honors on the one we knocked out. Travis and I last hunted together about 1982 on one of my trips home from Texas with Dual Gr Ch Horse Branch Blue Bawler and our hunting buddy Mr. Ted Warchak. On the way to the tree that night in 82 with Bawler Travis told me that he had never walked that far to a tree and seen the coon. I reminded him that we did infact see the coon that night. Nice to hear from Brad Cotton again and I will be getting back to him with the info he requested. It is time to bear down and get your 2011 goals finished up if you have not already and get busy formulating your plans for 2012. Set them HIGH-if you do not reach them at least you were headed in the right direction. How do you ever expect to get anywhere in this sport if you do not know where to go. Good Luck!

Cw.....Tuesday Is

Going to be a sad day! Ole boy is coming down to pick up Blade, He's already sent partial payment, so I know it's the real deal. Sure hate to see that ole boy go, but I want to spend time and more effort on hunting Blues in the Comp hunts. We got a long year ahead of us. Hopefully it will be just as fun as this year was.. Great hunting to ya all- Hope to see you at the hunts!

Had a good phone visit with Arthur Tubies yesterday. It had been awhile since we had talked so we had to catch up on a variety of subjects but did spend the bulk of it talking dogs. Arthur has a female called Bobbie from the 6 Again X Joanie cross. He says she is a real dandy coon dog and that the litter of pups from her are looking good as well. He describes her as a go hunting type and that seems to be true of that entire litter. It has finally gotten cold enough for us to get Bubba Snider back in the woods again--first time coon hunting with us this year. Bobby Carter, Bubba and I took advantage of the much improved conditions last night-manage to see three-might of had a couple more but we will never know-had a big nest after a good race and the same thing only to end up on a great big hollow right beside a creek. Isn't that something? The so so tracks we saw fur--the barn burners that you would bet the farm on we did not see--hey that,s coon hunting -just shows to go you. Hope you are enjoying yours as much as I am these-waiting for it to get dark!

Glad ya'll had a good hunt CW. We starting to get a little moisture. Still nothing in the sloughs, creeks or sink holes. It is a lot cooler most nights and that bright moon is gone for the moment.

Yep, it's been nothing but rain here too. Rivers, creek, ponds, are all over flowing. Didn't rain Today though, just damp and cold. You need to Keep that rain in IL...we don't need no more here, LOL!!!!

havent been on here in a while just wonted all these blue guys to know there is going to be a jet 6 emmy II dog burning up the woods in arkansas for about the next week lol wish me luck i think it is pretty flooded

Spoke with Jerry Shewmaker about Rocky Ridge Bocephus-out of 6 Again and Terry's Joanie. Got the same description I have gotten on most from this litter and other litters as well-hard going lots of drive. Jerry says the pups of off Bocephus at just 8 months are looking real promising. Also spoke with Justin Riley and Jimmy Yawn-follow up on some advance planning we had done awhile back. Dale Parker stopped in last week and we had a better transfer than our previous attempt--has to do with a coon scent producer. Wish all your deer hunting buddies good luck and ask them to please use up all their tags this year--after all -Everyone of us knows when they blow up Earth there will be cock roaches and deer still running every where!

Posted by cwbluebio on 12-06-2011 08:05 PM:

Mr White on White River

Please let us know how your hunt went and how Bawls did--he is actually out of 6 Again and Emmy II. While I'm asking -how about a picture or two-just for good measure. There were 45 dogs permamently registered out of the 54 sired by 6 Again--I know of at least 5 that are dead--so we are really talking about roughly 40 dogs. There were 19 males and 26 females in those 45 pups. That breaks down to 42% male and about 58% female. Right now 16% of the males and 19% of the females have obtained their championship degrees in the woods-- these percentages are only going to get higher as more of his pups finish. Ch Nt Ch Mead's Blue Rejet out of Gr Nt Ch Mead's Blue Jet 6 Again X Gr Nt Ch Tuckers Hilltop Joanie is here if you are interested in breeding a female to him. He is as closely line bred off Jet 6 as there is. I have some interesting crosses being made and planned off of these dogs directly from 6 Again, his grand pups and others that have worked for me. These crosses are based on scientific data, percentages, the individuals dogs and my knowledge first hand of what has worked with this line---not just old handy to old ready. Good luck with yours and when I can help-let me know!

Eric-I like the photo and the belt buckle. Back about 1975 or 6- I was in Cherokee, NC and saw a carving of two old skinny coonhounds with a coon strechted between them. It was carved out of wood and the price was $75.00 I think-might as well have been $750.00 for all the money I had at the time-still regret not getting it-never have seen another like it-a coonhunter had to have been the one who made it-the thing was perfect. We have had rain and high winds here-so I'm laying up tonight. Spoke with Curtis Todd about his Gr Nt Ch Pride dog-Pride is out of Jet 9 and a Iron Will female and I like the breeding of both those dogs.Spoke with Ted Johnson from Alabama a couple times lately. I asked him to please tell his father in law hey-Mr. John C Carter. Mr. Carter was with Mr. Robert Graves when they developed the first night hunt rules which Eddie Ross then used for the Mountain Music Hunts. He is also a charter member of BBCHA. I feel lucky to have got to know them over the years. Get out and meet these older bluetick people-you will benefit from it-some of the very finest people to ever walk this earth-in my book!

Thought you would. Hopefully ole Pride can make it to the top in 2012. We all know that a Bluedog can. Done it before! You'll probably be glad to hear I've converted another feller over to a bluedog. I'm sure those guys are very knowledgable and I would enjoy hearing all the stories. You talk rain...It's rained here the last couple days, again, calling for more rain, possibly turning into snow, by tomorrow. It's rained so much here, I have a pond in my front yard. grounds saturated and cant soak it up fast enough. LOL!!! Blues & I went out the other night while the rain was light. Ran three in a hole and came back home. She's out there now, barking in the kennel wanting to go, but not me in this weather. It suppose to be low 20s later tonight, LOL!!!!! TAlk atcha later.

White river

Got back from arkansas started out good caught 6first night and 7the next but then the rain came rained about 4inches turned off cold the camping got rough we skipped a night of hunting cause of rain next time we went we caught 3 next nite 6 it snowed and rained a lot treed a lot of dins when it was rainy or snowy bawls did very good and they ran us out early cause the water was rising that's the hunt in a nutshell sorry it's all so messy cw message me your number I would like to talk at ya

If my fuzzy math is correct mrwhite 29 treed 22 coons on his White River hunting trip--that sounds pretty good to me--glad the dog did well. My number is 478-361-7703 --it would be good to talk with you. John-you said your hunts have been up and down-we had one of those last night-same big old bright moon-other than that about perfect conditions. 4 blue dogs and 3 amigos. Reject and Annie crossed the creek and put one up a big oak--I took an extra leash and managed to make it across a log without taking a dip. While this was going on Kate and May Flower treed deep NW up the creek on what we consider the right side, which just happens to be the side we had turned out on. In my second attempt to persuade (Nice way of saying it) the dogs to swim back to Bubba and Bobby on the opposite bank-the head to my light went in with the dog. I had barely made it over with the aid of a light--I did end up wet but felt better when we found the next coon up their tree. This morning I put chest wadders on and armed with a rake I found the head to the light--of course that meant recrossing the creek again. Hey that,s coon hunting. It wasn,t the first time-show won't be the last. I was mad as a hornet but would have laughed the loudest if I had fallen in too! We always remember the real good hunts and the real bad ones -right?
