Bottoms Up Boys and Girls

WATERMELON-PEACH MOONSHINE BRANDY for five gallons

1 1/4 large watermelon
10 peaches
1 1/4 cup chopped golden raisins
15 limes (juice only)
25 cups sugar
water to make 5 gallon
wine or distillers yeast

Extract the juice from watermelon and peaches, saving pulp. Boil pulp in five quarts of water for 1/2 hour then strain and add water to extracted juice. Allow to cool to lukewarm then add water to make five gallons total and all other ingredients except yeast to primary fermentation vessel. Cover well with cloth and add yeast after 24 hours. Stir daily for 1 week and strain off raisins. Fit fermentation trap, and set aside for 4 weeks.

WATERMELON-GRAPE MOONSHINE BRANDY

30 Lb watermelon
7-1/2 Lb fresh table red or green grapes
water to 5 gallon
juice and zest of 10 lemons
24 cups granulated sugar
wine or distillers yeast

Cut the rind off of melon, cut melon into one-inch cubes, remove loose seeds, and put melon and any free juice in primary (crock, plastic pail, etc.). Thinly grate the yellow off ten lemons, juice the lemons, and add the juice and zest (gratings) to primary. Separately, wash, destem, and crush the grapes well in a bowl. Add grapes and grape juice. Add water to make up 5 gallon. Add sugar and stir well to dissolve. Cover primary with cloth, wait 24 hours. Add yeast. Cover and ferment 5 days, stirring dairy. Strain juice into secondary (demijohn) and fit airlock. Ferment 30 days.

APPLE PIE BRANDY.

Heat one gallon of apple juice. Do not exceed 150 degrees.

Add one cup of honey, 2 tsp of cinnamon oil and 2 tsp of nutmeg.

Stir until disolved.

Let this mixture cool down to room temperature and add one quart of shine.

Put into jars and let set for two weeks.

Hi There!

Been a bit busy here... and will be busier as Spring comes (IF it ever does...LOL...) Was in the 50s again today but tonight will be around TEN! Akkkk! High of 27 or so tomorrow.
Been awful busy dawg sitting Daisy and bringing her and Web. in and out etc... She was having a BARK fest today when I got a phone call from a production company that does animal planet shows.... trying to locate some bluetick pups. It was kinda funny... WHAT a racket, the guy was quite polite about it! Daisy's owner is considering a bark collar since... she is apparently barking pretty constantly at home.... not just here. EVERY little creak of the house, chirp of a bird etc... sends her to the door yapping to go hunt. She really does enjoy herself BUT... Webster is so tired out today he's out like a light still... I don't get much done while I have the 2 dawgs. Look forward to warmth so they can STAY outside more...
Bob is healing up slowly from his cracked rib, sees the Dr tomorrow. Glad it wasn't worse!
Nothing much new here that I can think of. I hate to not get on here as often BUT... I'll keep up best I can!

been up in Fredericksburg working and going over and hunting with CP and Mike, looked at three last night and two dens, plenty of water

old Blue struggles with the water at times, seems like he stands on his head until he can get it lined out...good for him, bet wbond wishes he was with me

Good Evening!

CHILLY here! SPRING? SOUTH?????? lol.. Waited till it "warmed up" this morning to feed the critters outside.. so I could throw the mutts outside while I fed... it was a Balmy 18 according to the game cam! lol... TOnight supposed to get colder too. I have to say this afternoons chores were fine even if it was a bit chilly. I can FEEL Spring! It WILL come this year!

Rob... nice to see you, been a while I think? Hope all's well with you... other than the AWFUL gas prices. Fuel oil killing us here... just had to pay another THOUSAND here! Been goin about.... 1300 a month... Food? Warmth? Thank Heavens we are able to get by here... Some people really struggling and we pray for them... TONS.

Apple Pie... I don't even like the smell of the beverage. Bob loves it... our apple orchard friends make it often. I don't LOVE apple pie either. I'm a Pecan and Peach pie lover. YUM! Now I'm starving! LOL...
