Tim speaking of snow, it's coming down here hard, may make for an interesting hunt tonight though, works been canceled so I think I'll take advantage of the time and get some hunting in, Our zone 7 championship hunt is this weekend in Ok. It is in the mid to low 20s and has Been snowing for about 5 hrs, ground covered. Suppose to stop tomorrow around 6 pm. May have to have the wife throw another log on the fire...........Tim

Cowboy x Bee pup

Talked to Terry Hansen (Minn) last night, he sure likes his pup from Cowboy x Bee (Spare Time Spanky semen pup). Terry said that he didn't get to put her in the woods as much as he wanted, due to the weather, but she has done some outstanding work on drags, hard tree-dog, and isn't afraid of a coon. The few times that he got to hunt her were always on 6+ inches of snow, she would go with the old dogs and backed them on some den trees. Sounds like as soon as it warms up she will be ready to go. Not bad for 7 1/2 months old..........Tim

Cowboy Pups

Should have a couple of litters in the next 3-4 wks. Both really good, well bred, coon treeing females that are hunted. The first female is Mad Dog x Uchtman bred and the second one is Mailes x Redman bred. I will keep all interested parties updated. I will post peds after the pups are born.........Tim

Cowboy Pup

Rumor has it that Barry Murphy has a male pup from the Cowboy x Peggy cross that ran and treed the first turn loose coon that he ever say. They say that he really got on the wood, they had to go back and get him off the tree 3 or 4 times. Not bad for 5 1/2 mos old. It's In The Blood..........Tim

Slim

Tim I talked to Frank Snow and he finished his Slim dog (Turk X Crystal ) out to Nite Champion last Friday nite. Then got a Nite Ch win on him Saturday night. He likes him a lot. He plans on finishing him out to GrNite before the leaves get on. First strike and a first tree dog that will hold tons of pressure. Frank said that Slim will get off to himself alot and all ways has the coon.

Young dogs

Big Brother has been hunting pretty hard now that the weather is decent. He has 3 females and a male that are looking pretty good, all have treed their own coon and they have to be lead off the trees. Paul calls the females Perculator (Astro x Ata-Girl), De Caff (Smoke x Blueberry) and Charge (John II x Crystal). His male is John III (John II X Maw-Bell) John was hunted in a hunt late last fall and won 1st. Paul sure has his hands full with this bunch..........Tim

Jr Hines and boys have been down (Minn.) to hunt this weekend. Paul and Cameron have been taking them to the woods. They treed 4 singles Friday night, haven't heard how they did Sat night.

Jr has two Cowboy pups and 1 Astro pup, they are around 6 mos old and are real tree-dogs, they keep the farm cats up a tree. Jr says the pups get treed solid not just barking because the other pups are barking. They have big mouths and are real lookers..........Tim

Back to the North Country

Junior Hines headed back to Mn early Sunday AM, he took a Rattler bred male, a John II female and a 10 month male (Astro x Hey Jude). The Rattler male and the John II female will get the job done on a regular basis the 10 month old male is started. Sounds like Junior and the boys will be at some hunts this year. Talked to Terry Hansen last night, he is going to have to sell his young female due to a change in his work load. This female is 8 mos old (Cowboy x direct daughter of Sparetime Spanky). She is lightly started, will run and tree a drag, has ran and treed turn loose coon, will go part way hunting with old dogs. She has a big bawl on track and a hard chop on tree. Guy and Ryan are down from WI to visit and hunt, Paul took them hunting Mon night, they treed 3 singles and caught one on the ground. Paul said that Wacker II and the other young dogs looked pretty good.........Tim

Just wondering how Paul's de-caff female is doing I see she is off Smoke and Blueberry so I'm guessing this is the Dee female I sold back to Roy last fall?
Hope she is doing well for you and would love to see a picture and an update on her.

another good hunt

Paul said Dee-Caff is looking pretty good, has had her to split tree and hold pressure. Paul is not much with the camera but will try to get some pictures.

Paul and the Northern boys treed 5 singles Tuesday night. they said the young dogs looked good, got gone and got treed. The dogs that they have been hunting are Wacker II, JohnIII,Dee-Caff and Lee. Perculator will get the call Wed. All of these young dogs are Sired by our stud dogs, Wacker II (GR NT Wacker), John III (GR NT JohnII), Dee-Caff (Dual Grand Smoke), Lee (GR NT CH Frank Jr) and Perculator (Dual Grand Astro), Wacker II and John III already have their First Place wins, you will be reading about these young hounds in the near future..........Tim

John III packed his bags and moved north. He is now owned by Guy Denhe, they will make a good pair and I expect to hear a lot of good things coming out of the north country.............Tim
