Sad to say, Darrell's Stardust female was bred to S7, and then got ran over the next weekend while hunting.

Here's a screen shot of Blackwater Streak (S7 x Daze) from the GPS from last night. He's 14 mos. old and been singled out, for awhile. He was cast alone, struck not far from where he was turned loose at the right side, worked a track as shown, and ended up with a coon treed, about 1/2 mile from where he was cut. I drove around and walked in to him.

Below is a pic of him on the tree. Sorry for the bad pic. I got a new phone and have no idea why all my pics are blurry....

You're doing a fine job with him, John! Is Streak the heaviest C&S Smokey dog alive?

I'm going to have to figure out how to do that with Google earth, BTW. Really cool to look at it like that!

I'm not sure how to measure that but I doubt that he is. A dog with Smokey closer up, but fewer times, could be heavier bred, imo. However, I think its safe to say Streak has Smokey listed in his pedigree more times than any dog.

At any rate how many times they go back to Smokey isn't a concern to me. How balanced, talented, and natural they are at treeing coons is what matters and just so happens most of the ones I've seen that do that well, do go back to Smokey.

I guess I worded that wrong. I was referring to how many times Smokey showed up in the pedigree. I believe it's 13, isn't it?

Bonnie, owned by Dale & Josh Hasty is coming in heat and will be bred to S7. This is a repeat cross. They own one from the first litter that can't be bought. She's as nice of a young dog as you will find. Don't see any reason why this cross won't work again.

I'm sure they would be more than happy to show Bonnie or Cokie 2 in the woods.

Bonnie was bred last Sunday. There are a couple more nice females set to be bred to Smokey when they come in heat. I've had several calls lately, with good reports on young S7 pups. We appreciate everyone giving him a chance.

A man and his son from Arkansas came up last night and went hunting with me and Streak. First drop, Streak struck a bad track about 500 yards in, worked it out and treed on a den tree. Coon was setting in a low fork on the outside. The 2nd drop he struck at 400 yards, worked a bad track closer and treed on a big oak on the edge of a creek that had a sycamore leaning into it from the other side of the creek. No coon, minus it. The gentleman liked what he saw. Now Streak has a new home.

Here is a picture of Streak from a few nights ago, with a coon.

One of the reasons I could let Streak go was I have a new student ready to start school. She is also out of S7 (and KS Smokin Lizzy). Here is 'PR' Blackwater Kizzy Too, on a training exercise where she trailed, found the tree, and started treeing on her own. Just turned 5 mos. old.

Smokey 7 will be collected Wednesday by Dean Bitzel. We've been meaning to do it for a couple years now and never have.

Got a couple litters on the way, and a couple nice females set to be bred.

We've been getting LOTS of good reports on his pups. Look for a lot of them in the winners circle this year.

We can't thank everyone enough for giving Smokey 7 a chance to prove his worth in the breeding pen!
