Yes he was Blue River Judy A friend of mine named Gary McClish raised her. I owned a big all blue male from Wolford Johnson that was named Man that I wish I could have another just like him also. I have had alot of hounds in my 56 years and there have been alot of improvements over all but todays hounds have nothing over on the performance of the good blue hounds I owned 35 years ago. Note I said the good ones! Going to try and get out with Troy Wolverton this spring to check out what he has up the road a ways

Getting a little hunting in.

Quick hunt with Rebel by himself last week.


Had a good hunt with Tommie Boles and his daughter Shalena.
Left to right is Shalena's Jen female (Dually x Kry) Tommie's Dixie female and Reb. This was a big boar sitting on the outside of a den. Shot him out and he whipped three hounds. He was a big un.

Steve. Preacher treed his first coon in South Alabama by himself Saturday night. looked and sounded good doing it to.

mickyblues........ I hunted many nites with his daddy....he s coondawg.........also owned a full brother to his momma, ole badger he was one of the best I ever walked behind....also owned johnny reb, his uncle at one time and my son still owns Charlie, rebs littermate, both are also coondawgs......I m glad to see someone got him who s gonna hunt him.....good luck with him....

Ken i cut him loss twice by himself on friday night and i really don't think he had ever seen any briars and swamps like we have down here and he really didn't do anything. Saturday night i cut him with my Judge dog and they got in there about 400 yards and Judge struck and then Preacher. they split up and preacher ran his track about 4oo yards and came treed(good locate) with the meat. looked good. Judge treed his about a mile away he had his coon to.

sounds like his daddy and his uncles......very independent. please keep us updated on his progress, I m very fond of that bloodline, the top and bottom, owned a lot of dogs from both sides.....

Steve just thought i would give you a up date on Preacher he is starting to settle in a little better in this south Alabama hunting. last nite i hunted him and my Judge dog. 1st turn loss they struck in at 250 yds worked a good track about 300 more yds Preacher treed followed by Judge. they were on a good den tree no coon seen. 2nd drop they struck in about 627 yds work a pretty bad track for about a half of mile drove around and when i got out they were treed don't know who treed first and saw that coon. he is a very good tree dog and opens on track according to the track. I believe he is going to make a fine coondog one day. Good bawl mouth on track big locate and a good chop mouth tree dog thats throws a bawl in every now and then.

I really like what i see in this little hound.

Good luck with your Preacher dog. When I saw him on the ukc board, I thought he was a good looking hound and very well bred. The way you are describing him sounds as if he will make a good hound with a little more experience.
