The story that I heard was that they let the pup out to play and she was running around in the back yard with her nose up in the air "winding". She finally made it up on to the deck and then smelled the squirrel and saw it. That is when she locked down and started treeing. It sounds like she will be ready to hunt by this fall. I just hope that my Wendy X Boone pups have that much tree bred into them.

Jared

Thanks for posting video, I think this pup is going to be very tree minded. You know if my son starts beating me with it I'll never live it down. He's very competitive.

Can't wait to see the tree power you'll get when you breed Boone to a triple Fireball bred female, should be pretty nice

Boone

I'm almost sure our Ginger will be calling on him in the near future. They should dole out some tree power too.

Let's see...Boone X Toadie, Annie, Gate, Wendy, Chick, and Pebble. That is some list with quite a variation of bloodlines. There should be some real tree dogs popping up in the next year or so.

Dont forget about Boone X Autumn. Should be some independent tree dogs.

Jared, I guess that you might as well go ahead and pay him up in the Performance Program for next year. And he hasn't even won Autumn Oaks or the UKC or PKC World Championship yet. Corey, I think that the Annie female has a little Fireball blood in her also.(Darrin Gher will know.) We will see how that works out.

Posted by Chris Osborne on 08-21-2014 06:53 PM:

Gate

I'm glad we found these pups, it's a lot better for a kid to start out with a good dog than go through a few before they get one. Could get discouraging and loose interest. If the gate female didn't have bigfoot mack in it we would have missed out. I hope she turns out the way I think she will. She could be the cross we pull the straw on. Time will tell.

She sure does! Idk how much, but it's there. Probably will be the better cross between her and Pebble since Annie's got that Fiddle blood I like too

Only time will tell. That is the fun part, waiting to see. Papers are only half of the equation.

Jared said that Boone treed 4 coons last night.....all up one tree. That is pretty good for thin coon country.

Posted by t_pettit on 08-22-2014 08:17 PM:

Thin coon! Ha, now that's funny.

I guess that they have thin coon in Tennessee, thicker coon in southern/central Indiana and the thickest coon in northern Indiana/Ohio/southern Michigan.

Annie has 3 shots of Fireball.
Huey provides 2 by way of Twister and Rocky. Reckon provides 1 by way of Doc.

I'm sure glad to see Boone is getting bred to several good solid females. This should help improve the breed down the road. Boone is very well balanced as a hunting dog. Especially, I like how Boone can "run" a tough track.

It will be exciting for sure to see how he crosses on the Fireball females. I love how Boone puts a coon at the end of those tuff tracks that he "runs". Darrin, does Flow have any Fireball in her?

Well, Pebble went on day 62 and had 8 beautiful butterball puppies! 5 males and 3 females in all. If your not on the list for one yet make sure you are, I think we have about half of them spoken for all ready.
