Thanks, I live down in St. Mary's County. I think this was the last pup Joe had left out of that litter. If I remember right he said she was the pick of the litter. I just got her a few weeks ago. So far, up until tonight, she was only run in the woods during the day. I like to see what they are doing on off game before I start turning loose in the woods at night. She was exposed to several deer. I even tried her with a little house dog that will run them, but this puppy showed absolutely zero interest. I know that is always subject to change...she's only six months old but it would suit me if she stayed this way!!!
That's Tom's redbone in the photos and he aint no sloutch...he can wind a coon a good distance and stands on his hind legs to do it. When he stands up hang on!!

Thanks Cody...will do. Same goes here...if you get a chance to get down this way bring your dog and light. I'll take care of the rest. I think our local club has a hunt coming up in October. When is the next one up at Chesapeake City??? I haven't been to eastern shore in quite some time. I took a break from coon hunting and am just recently getting back into it. Got an 8 year old son that is coon hunting crazy.

Posted by msinc on 07-17-2014 02:25 AM:

Joe, Cody,
Here are just three of the latest trail cam pictures taken at two of the feeders...I keep 5 baited all the time. Just don't have cameras at all of them. They aren't really hitting the bait hard this time of year but I keep watching for kittens. I post a few of some from a while back next.

Here are some that are a little older pictures...

Martin

have you hunted that female lately?

Posted by msinc on 07-22-2014 03:14 PM:

I haven't had her out since that night she treed the coon. It's either been too hot and dry or a 4 inch rain but before the weekend I am going again and will let you know. They are calling for some possible rain tonight and tomorrow. Right now the ground looks like moon dust. I am taking the camera and will get and post more pictures asap. Thanks Joe.

Jr. x Hope pup "Jericho"

Here are some pics and a video of my 6 month old "Jericho" pup getting in some tree work! He's a natural tree dog that likes to stand straight and throw back his head while he sings to the tree!!!

Sounds like you done real good with this cross Joe. More good reports on these pups. I am tickled pink with mine. We gave 'em a try last night but nothing was moving. This little dog hunts out better every time she is hunted. We did walk over two different red hot deer tracks, we saw the deer and she wasn't interested.

Posted by Jvogat on 07-28-2014 03:32 PM:

David Thanks

this was a great cross and I think will be noticed when they get older. Hope you enjoy the pup and I know Ed is cause the pup wouldn't have stayed at his place this long if he wasn't doing good.

Martin good to here about your pup keep hunting her and I'll come over for a hunt in a few weeks.

Joe

What a weekend at the New England Coonhound Hunters Reunion!!!

I couldn't be any prouder of my BLACK HILL BLUES BLUETICKS after their performance this weekend over in Lyndonville. _I took down my "CHLOE", "GRENADE", and "JERICHO" dogs down Friday for Saturdays Vermont State Championships and 50th annual New England Coonhunters reunion. I saw a lot of familiar faces, met some great people, and had fun sharing stories from the past year of putting dogs in the woods.

I had high hopes to have my GRCH "CHLOE" dog defend her title as overall New England Show Champion, but could not have even begun to believe what was about to happen...

My male "GRENADE" (out of Jr.) took Vermont State field trial tree, New England field trial overall, and best of CH males on the bench!

My new pup "JERICHO" (out of Jr. x Hope) took best of show males in his very first show as a 7 month old!

My female "CHLOE" took best of GRCH females, and New England Best of Show for the second year in a row!

Here are some pictures of my dogs and some of the hardware we brought home to Maine!

Hardware!

Jericho's trophy hidden behind me...

Grenade's collection on the left...

Chloe's collection on the right...

Grenade after the field trial...

Jericho in best of show males...

Grenade in best of CH males

All three of mine in the Best of Show New England Overall, Chloe on far left, Grenade 4th from left, and Jericho on far right...

Chloe after defending her title as Best of Show in New England!

Congratulation's now that's what I call bringing home the hardware. Jr's pups are getting out there and showing what they can do. Keep up the good work and having fun.

Both those pups are looking good nice heads and good conformation.

Derek,
Now that's what I call "bringin' home the hardware" Nice bunch of dogs and good luck in the upcoming season.

Posted by msinc on 08-06-2014 03:57 AM:

Joe and friends,
We were lucky enough to see an early coon heading to one of the feeders and turned the dogs out...this is what I call "bringin' home the meat!!!" Junior pup 7 months old yesterday. If she keeps this up soon she will be bringin' home some hardware too. Sorry for the fuzzy photos, I wasn't the cameraman on this adventure. You wont believe the voice on this dog!!!! In most of the pictures she was just a blur.

Martin

She is looking good keep putting it on her. Joe

Posted by msinc on 08-07-2014 02:40 AM:

You can best believe she is getting a workout...but I aint so sure just who is putting it on who!!!! The more I hunt her the more she wants to go. She has a deeper voice than the two male dogs we hunt and is every bit as loud. She is starting to really hunt out too, I have been using the Alpha on her to see where she is. She will go out there sometimes 300-400 yards and then check back. She gets so excited when she trees that she will jack the tree a little at first until she calms down a little. I will keep you posted with her progress.

its a blast when you have a young dog doing what your female is doing.
