I am so sick of this winter and can't wait till this weather breaks. This coming week it's supposed to warm up and I'm planing on getting serious and puting some dogs in the woods. Between the bitter cold and plowing snow for the local Twp. I have not had time to get the dogs out.

I'm really hoping to see more Dozer pups showing up in the hunts this yr. There should be a few that are ready to go. I'm going to be pushing Dozer Jr and looking to finish him out in UKC as well as winning some money in PKC.

More snow coming, blah blah blah. Wish I had something to report besides the never ending winter. Hopefully within the next couple weeks I'll be able to tell if Ruby is breed.

Back in the woods

Hunter and I hit the woods last night. It was so nice to turn a dog loose again. Hunter decided that we were taking Dozer and Jr with us. 1st drop Dozer was up. Quick strike, fast track job and treed on a den. We walked him 50 yds and recast him. 100 yds in and struck. I decided to turn around and look at the den we just treed on, there sat the coon looking out at us. Dozer drove this second track 400 yds and treed on another den. There was snow all around the tree. 1 set of coon tracks going in and none leaving the tree. The old man was 2-2. Jr's up. At this point the snow is turning to ice. Cut loose, 500 in and struck. It's a tough track in a cut over creek bottom. He did his best to work it but came up short. With everything Icing over we decided to call it a night. All in all we had a nice night in the woods

Krystal Lear has been up the last couple nights to hunt with Dozer. She will be handling him in the Ohio State Youth Championship in April. This is Krystal's last year to hunt as a youth and when she asked to hunt Dozer, Hunter and I both agreed that would be fine. Hunter is going to try her luck handling Dozer Jr this year. I can't wait to see how the girls do.

Hoe will be on a road trip tomorrow to IA. Rod will be hunting her out there until further notice. The plans are to get her tuned up and in the hunts out there. She is more then ready for some hard hunting.

Really looking forward to handling Dozer in a couple weeks ! He definitely knows how to put a coon up a tree. I really appreciate you guys letting me hunt him ! I hope that Hunter and I both can bring back some top scores to the club

I am sad to say Ruby is not going to have any pups. I was really looking forward to this cross.

After having a few females breed and not having any pups I decided it was time for a vet check with a specialist. Today I took Dozer to Animal Clinic Northview Inc. which is one of the top K9 and feline reproductive clinics in the United States, headed by Dr. Hutchinson. Dozer was collected by Dr. Greenfield and a semen evaluation was done. It has been established that Dozer is so fertile if a female is brought to him on the correct day he could knock her up by just looking at her. (Just kidding). Dozer's count is 1.5 Billion. You read that correctly 1.5 BILLION, with 90% motility. That 1 collection was strong enough to do 10 breedings. Dr. Greenfield said Dozer is as fertile as any dog they have ever collected at their clinic. I also had a brucellosis test done just for safe measures.

HERE IS MY ADVICE TO POTENTIAL BREEDERS... HAVE THE PROGESTERONE TEST DONE ON YOUR FEMALES! Just because you're female runs a normal heat cycle doesn't mean she's ovulating on the 10th through 14th day. It will cost you a few dollars but in the long run you will get the pups that you wanted. If she's not ovulating it's just not going to happen.

It's only fitting that Dozer be as healthy as a horse... He is, after all, as big as one. lol ..... Thanks again for letting Krystal handle him in the Ohio State Youth Hunt! I know she's excited and looking forward to having a great time!

Took hoe tonight wind blowing snowing like crazy she struck run track about 300yards treed had the coon she did a real nice job.makes a guy proud!

yeah I am hoping too get a dozer pup too va on her next breeding they are going to be some top young dogs that will have coons when they set down with huge locates and loud I cant wait too get a dozer pup

Been hunting her getting her back in shape was the last tree of the night they treed four coon in four different trees and two brush piles. Dogs looked super!

Glad you liked Jr's mouth and independence, it's just to bad he didn't look a little more accurate. Jr has hit a bit of a slump. I'm not to worried about it, he's a really nice hound. Dozer is putting a big mouth on his pups, and they are turning out really nice. Your Bone female deffinetly has some independence and a real nice mouth on her. She did a nice job that night.

Tracy Crockett was in from PA the last couple days and breed his female to Dozer. Rosie is directly off of Fletcher's Stylish Jake and a Lone Pine Female. He is planing on coming back in a couple weeks so that I can see Rosie in the woods. While here Tracy got to see Dozer in the woods, along with Jr, and Dud, a young male off of Dozer owned by Ron Smith.

Wait till you see Dozer go! What a nice Hound big mouth accurate cant wait to get back up there great guys Bengie and Ron hope she gives us a litter. Take your young hound up and let him go. I told Ron he was bred out of his Chief dog he would probably like to have a look at him.
