Got a phone call to go dancing. Difficult to give that up for dogs. Oh boy my year not starting off like I thought but then again it just might!

Turn loose twice with no barks

I got real cold on the hands so I came home. I just turned Maggie loose alone. She made a 900 yard circle and a 600 yard circle on the river with no bark was good enough for me. There will be other nights.

Hi Elmo, I was getting tired of sitting at the house so I went for a walk last night but we never got after anything, it is going to warm up for a few days so that will help. I would say Maggie will find one tonight.

Probably won't turn nothing loose tonight if I get tickets but the way we played against Ole Miss I might rather hunt. Scott I hope your Timber female is working out for you. Sometimes you just never know.
Maggie is doing a nice job so far. I might be spoiling her letting her ride in the front seat with me. I think she would rather ride warm than get her feet to cold but she gives me plenty effort. I for sure will go Thursday night. Might let Sounder tag along. I know we will tree one somewhere. Now how far is the question.

Turned Maggie loose alone

First dump she went in 400 yards and the garmin said she was treed but she wasn't I waited and waited then decided to walk in just in case she was stuck on a fence or in a trap. Well I got to her and she was getting her belly full of old deer meat. Oh boy and she had the shock collar on so after I turned it up on 8 and held the button down she decide just maybe the truck is where she needed to be. Next dump she made and 900 yard circle in the wildlife area without a bark.
Maybe she isn't dog enough yet or I just don't have any coon in this area I hunted.

Elmo you may need to put her where you know there is coon and I think she will do a good job. Maggie is maken a nice hound. Come up some time we will try to put in some coon.

Hank I would say I want her to go till she finds a coon but I have two of them already and sometimes they are not fun to hunt because I don't have places to drive around. She did OK. At least she was looking

Maybe see you at the Uchtman Memorial hunt this year. Are you going to the Grand National Reunion in April. I will be there for sure. 5.5 hour drive but I'm going. May bring Sounder with Maggie or just Maggie. I will see who is out doing who and go from there.

Girls night out

We made two dens one hole and one coon in a den the dogs got out.
Coons were running straight to dens and these female pushed these coons on every track. I the first den we did see the coon as well.
25 degrees and I had jersey gloves on and I was cold.
Daniel Morton has some nice females in his yard for sure.

Temp is dropping

Only means one thing for me and that is I'm staying home. Gave the hounds extra hay and extra food. I'm in for the night. Good luck to those that brave the cold.

Cold weather, 25 degrees is warm for this time of year! It is always nice to stay at home and warm up to something other than a dog, once in a while.
