Outstanding cross made today. Harold Newkirk bred his Daisy female to Smokey 7. We've been wanting to make this cross for a while. Harold is a pleasure hunter, but she is GrNt material. Littermate to NtCh Uptown Extreme Shooter. She was as natural as they come. Treeing her own coon at a really young age. We expect the pups to do the same.

Ron, the female that was just bred is a daughter of Lizzy. Top female! Treed 3 single coons and held pressure one night with other dogs running around her at 5 months old.

Tell Lizzy to hurry on up. Smokey is looking forward to the date

Here is Blackwater Streak (Smokey 7 x Blackwater Daze)



This picture was taken last Thurs. night. Streak is 9 mos. old. In this picture, he was split treed from his mother. She is across the creek on a big Sycamore. I didn't see a coon in her tree, but it was a hollow tree. Streak's tree was what we call a piss elm and it was slick as a cat gut.

He has a long ways to go to be a coondog but has some things going for him and is worth working with.

Here is a video of Blackwater Streak, 10 mos. old from a couple nights ago. I took him by himself for the first time last night and he went hunting on his own, got treed, and had a coon.
