Old Crockett was 11 years old in May 2014.

I took him hunting in Oct for the first time in about a year.
You can check out the video on his Facebook page "Johnson Branch Crockett".

Crockett has aways been a no nonsense type coondog that never had to be retrained or tuned up after being layed up.

I have a limited amount of frozen semen stored at Nevergone available. You pay the A.I. fee's. or it can be shipped.

I believe he can still live breed, he's in pretty good shape.

If your interested in breeding your female in 2015, make plans now and I can pay him up in the UKC Performance Program up until the end of Dec. 2014.

Stud Fee is still a choice pup.

Somebody stole Jon's pup or it got loose and run over but he walked the roads for miles and couldn't find him

Steve, hate to hear that. only thing worse than getting one killed is not knowing what happen when they disappear.

Rob told me that yours got ran over, sorry to hear that.
The male out of Crockett and Diamond was a natural born freak.
Hard going, tons of grit, great mouth, smart, good looking all rolled up in a pup that had exceptional ability at a young age. Just had one problem that he got from his mother, she was bad about it, he was a deamon around dog food. May he RIP.

Hope you'all are staying warm down in Lawrenceburg, ky...Pretty dang cold up here in Pa..-25 Degrees with the wind chill and about a ft of snow on the ground. Wanted to let you know a Buddy of mine has a Male that might cross real well on your Crocket females.. He's a direct son of Blister and has Tell and cord up close On his bottom side. If you like Sackett he has it all in there..My Buddy is just a pleasure Hunter but his old dog is a coon dog forsure. Just thought I would let you know he's out there.. Hey Jason, we are getting it today. Supposed to get a foot of snow and temps below zero tonight not counting the wind chill.

Big mamma and Jason.
I passed on breeding my females and had big plans to go back to the well with my daughters dog.
Old Yadkin river to old Yadkin river (frozen semen) before Sackett Jr.
But she was due last week and we didn't get pups.

Two mornings passed I buried Crockett up on the ridge behind the house.
He was 12 years and 2 days old.

To all that came to hunt with him, bred a female or are hunting his pups or grandpups, thank you, it's been an honor and a blessing.

I still have a few breedings available at Nevergone if anyone is interested.

Sorry to hear it Doug...

I thought he was a great looking hound with a great pedigree. Pretty sure he was one of those once in a lifetime hounds or else he wouldnt have died at such an old age at your place.

Thanks Rick, my son booked him before he was born and we picked him up at 10 weeks old, he's been here his whole life.

Nearly 40 years with these hounds, there's only been 4 males that have made the cut here. Two sons of Lipper, one son of YR Champ ( all died while hunting before 2 years old ) and Crockett. And yes, he was a special hound, at least to me he was.

same here my friend.

Only two males in nearly 40 years of breeding passed the test here. Both died in my pen. I have always been a female kind of guy when it comes to hounds.
Still looking for the perfect male here.

Yes Kevin, they get old too quick.

Blaze and Bow should be putting bear in the trees by this fall.
