Preacher PUP given to me by David Dewey

To Mr Wick,

Hello Mr Wick,
I was so happy to finally meet you at the 2010 Winter Classic last year. My name is Jacqueline Jones and I purchased both of your books that you had on sale..you autographed them to my son Stephen White!! Thanks so Much! My son is sure enjoying them!

I recently was given a puppy male from David Dewey and he is from the PREACHER line, he is male black- blanket back, and is white socked I recently relocated so I have to return to a Farm in Missouri (Cornhill Kennel Company) to pick him back up and bring him to Illinois! I already have my sites on hunting him in the near future and I know my newest addition to my family will someday enjoy him as well. I look forward in raising him up and seeing what he will do in the near future!!!! David Dewey has been a great friend to me and my sons while living in Missouri and he is a great fan of yours as well..Please call me sometime if you ever get around ILLINOIS or so..I would love to hear more of your Stories and Life!! Thanks so much! 660-973-7575

Hey guys, I've owned Iowa Preacher pictured with John Horner on page 9 for the last 3 years. He finished 6th in Iowa's PKC state race in 2010. Nice hound, I like him alot. I have a couple guys lined up to breed to him this spring, if anyone else is interested let me know. I'd really like to see some pups out of him! Call me at 515-577-4340

wow

What a great post, Mr wick you are a true inspiration, I started hunting in the 70's along with reading every full cry I could get my hands on thanks to the late Frank McCrystal , anyway I cut my teeth with walker dogs as you have described, with that being said, the walkers of today is what drove me away from walkers, I want a hound that wants to please me and not grab a bunch of slick trees, go a mile before they even begin to hunt, and have a country coondog tree half a dozen coons in behind them..And not to mention when its time to go home looking for them for a couple hours lol anyway I just want you to know your efforts are greatly appreciated Mr John Wick. If the preacher style Hound come back so will a lot of hunters that don't enjoy the competition style walker. I for One truly appreciate all your knowledge you have shared with us through out the years. Thank you And God Bless you my friend that I have never met.

I love the Preacher bred dogs the looks the handle and they started easy. But the true Preacher dogs have wholes in them like most lines of hounds do. You have to breed them to a line with drive in them. The ones I have been around are moody. One night they throw dirt in your face and the next they just hang around you. If they don't like something out there you can stomp wholes in their a$$ they won't hunt. They are truely pouty hounds and they don't have alot of grit in them ever. I have never seen one that would hold his own they would just leave if it got to hot in there. I'm speeching from exsperence of 16 years of hunting this line of hounds.
