Not to hijack your post Jared but the best thing about breeding Boone to Pebbles is the years of dedication you see in that pedigree.

This cross is a combination of the best bloodlines from Harry Oumedian, Tom Solberg. Harold Hoffmeister, Rodger Hall, Joe Melton, John Biggert, and many more long time breeders all in one mix. It's in the blood ,it is always in the blood and it takes years to develop some of these lines. I like this pedigree. It is pure soup made from the best ingredient. It's gonna be a good one. Good luck with this cross, it represents many,many years of effort from some of the most respected breeders the redbone breed has ever had.

Be careful what you hope for. Jared pretty soon you will have as many young dogs in your yard as I do. Boone is a daddy again. He has another litter of pups on the ground now. Talk about potent!! We were worried about the antibiotics/pneumonia/erlichia affecting his sperm count and I think that it did. They increased it. Tell your wife that I might have a new show dog prospect for her now.

He has about 25 pups on the ground now and one more litter on the way. It will take another year but he should get there. Boone's sire, Haze, only has about 125 offspring and he is about 8 or 9 yrs old.

I swear....I wish they would drop that number down to about 50 or 60. Thats about 8-10 average sized litters. Too many good studs out there that the good females are being spread around to. Just taking too many years to get to 100 pups. I also think that many of the great reproducing studs of this decade may be gone or too old to breed naturally by the time they make the list or really get hot...but with frozen semen....they may breed more females with frozen semen than they did naturally.

Thats gonna be a good cross guys. I have hunted with both dogs and they will both get deep and lonely with two looking down. I'd probably weigh ten more pounds if not for all the walking I have had to do when I have drawn Boone

One of my favorite casts ever

I drew Boone and Jared AND Bobby Stevens and Annie in Brazil IN one year when I was hunting Jake as a NTCH. Don't think I ever had a more enjoyable cast. Boone was a year old at the time and really really impressive for a young NTCH!

That is a pretty good testimonial when the guys that you draw in a nite hunt bring their females back to breed to your dog. How old are the pups out of Boone X Toadie now and are they doing anything?

The Boone and Toadie puppies are progressing everyday. This kill season will put them to the test.

I've have been trying to get Boone back into shape after his layup. I have just a couple of weeks before Autumn oaks.

Pebble is getting as big a barrel. Anyone interested in being put on a list for a pup please let me know. Cory sent me this picture of her. Puppies should be due the first or second week of September.

Here ya go Richard. This is a video of Chris Osbornes female from the Boone and Gate Cross. The pup found the dead squirrel by herself laying on the deck railing after his daughter had shot it and brought it back to the house. Chris said that the pup went crazy for about 30 min. Not bad for 2.5 months old. Congrats to Chris's daughter on her first squirrel.
