PERRY,
GLAD TO HEAR YOU ARE TAKING THE DOCTORS ADVICE. ONE OF OUR CONTRACTORS WE USE AT WORK ENDED UP WITH PNEUMONIA, AND WAS OUT OF COMMISSION FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. LIKE YOU HAD SAID BEFORE, THERE SHOULD BE SOMETHING SPECIAL OUT OF THE TUFF X STICKER CROSS. LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING SOME PICTURES.

JAKE,
THANKS FOR THE COMMENTS ON GRIZZLY. I SHOULD THANK PERRY AND YOURSELF FOR HAVING THE INSIGHT TO MAKE THE CROSS. I HAVE WANTED TO CHAT WITH YOU GUYS ABOUT THE GERT FEMALE, AS I KNOW VERY LITTLE ABOUT HER. I AM SURE ALOT OF THE GOOD IN GRIZZLY CAME FROM HIS MOTHER ALSO. WAS GERT ALSO BRED TO RON TAYLOR'S SON DOG?

Posted by Jake Appel on 12-15-2011 02:08 AM:

Donnie- yes gert had 4 pups from Son. they are 18 months old. We have 2 we are going to put in hunts this spring. Gert is just a solid little coondog. Good mouth, trees layups, and shines in tough conditions.

Hey Perry!

All's well here on the East...Busy as can be cause we've got a houseful of humans here at the moment... Still make time EVERYDAY to get on here though and get my coondawg fix!
DO take the Docs advice! I think you may recall how sick I got at one point cause I was a dummy.... I do much better now to take care of my health FOR my loved ones! Our carpenter Mike is struggling with pneumonia at the moment. I think it is very common this year...and the weird weather is probably not great for everyone's health!

Take care and keep caring about what you breed and hunt.
Heather

Little girl

Rose has been flipping the switch a little at a time since the start of kill season. Treed the first time by herself opening night. In the last couple weeks she has out run her brother and mother to a couple trees.
Tonight she got split about 100 yards deeper, held pressure from a couple pretty radical walkers, and had the meat. She is going to be one FAST little track dog.
About a week and a half ago I got to see it in some pastured out stuff with her tracker light. You would have sworn she was running it by sight aside from not opening. Wide open throttle until she was about 8 feet up the tree trunk. The dremel and her rear feet are going to get to know each other real well before she ends up busted up like her mother...

Rose's brother Bentley has been showing pretty impressive tracking speed and ability at times. Wish granding a dog out was easy so I could start working on him. I'm pretty excited about that guy, but he is in the on deck circle.

TREEIN A FEW COON WITH THE OLD DOG AND HIS DAUGHTER

GEORGE KIESLAR AND I OWN THIS FEMALE TOGETHER. HE CALLS HER OPET, I CALL HER GIRLFRIEND. SHE IS QUICK TO GET STRUCK, CAN ROLL ON A TRACK AND SHE CAN LIGHT A TREE UP. THIS IS HER SPLIT FROM THE OLD DOG AND BOTH HAD HUGE BOAR COONS. THEN THE SNOW CAME. CUT A FRESH TRACK ON THE ROAD AND DUMPED THEM AND TREED ANOTHER BIG COON. THE GIRLFRIEND IS GONNA MAKE A GOOD ONE. <v>

TRUBLUE MAC,
THANKS FOR THE PHOTO OF BENTLY AND HANNAH, THEY LOOK LIKE A GREAT TEAM.

PRETTY FUNNY TILL I GOT THINKIN ABOUT HOW NOBODY GETS NEAR ME IN LINE AT THE GAS STATION CHECK OUT, MAYBE IT AIN'T NOTHIN SPECIAL AS THERE IS MORE THAN ENOUGH SCENT FOR THEM PUPS TO WORK WITH. <v>

I had a good hunt last night. Down the river and across the river a couple times and then back up the river and out on the hill. I only had to walk 1/4 mile after I drove around.

Posted by Bert19 on 12-17-2011 09:49 PM:

Lexi and I went out wed night for a couple hours had a great hunt. Jammed two hot ones up in 15 minutes. Then she drifted and old track out and got him running ended up over half mile treed with a big boar on outside of a den. Went and hit another spot treed one 200yds from truck then had one caught out in field that she couldnt handle she finally got it treed over 700yds away. She went five for five and was back home sleeping on her end of the couch in two and a half hours.

Worked last night and it was pretty neat how the temperatures would vary from 22 degrees to 8 degrees depending on if you were in the fog or not.

V, I try to limit my mug in the pictures and it keeps me out of the system! I like it that way! There wasn't alot of tracks out but the ones we did see had dog tracks right with them! Friday night was the ideal night! I went out with a close friend and his 14mo blue male and we had 4 in the truck and I was home next to the boss on the couch by 8pm! One of these days soon I will need to make it down your way and see the ole' man go a couple of times and get some pictures of him!
