Rip,,, I agree with some of you're conclusions however you cannot say Boise is not impressive! That is if you have ever even watched them. Nebraska is a decent team right???? Well idaho played at Nebraska this year and gave em a good game. Look what Boise just did to there rival in there place. They could have beat them by 70 points.

I have kept my mouth shut, hoping to wait for the national title game but I just cant all of this "35-1" and talking about beating Oregon and what not, I just have to chime in. Hoosier is trying to make a case for Boise having a "strong schedule." Thats not true, their schedule is weak, yes they are very consistent, but thats only because of the lack of talent they play against. Take the 2006 Florida Gators National Champions beating Ohio State 41-14. This was a GREAT team with Chris Leak and Tim Tebow leading them into what would be the start of many great seasons to come, and I think most will agree that this team could stand with any team now and win, they were just that good. They went 13-1 this year losing to Auburn, but the strength of schedule was amazing with a combined opponent record of 100-49 and a winning percentage of .671, it was one of the toughest if not the toughest in the nation that year. This was a team that would have blown Boise out of the water, along with any SEC team this year, there is no doubting that. The one thing that I will point out though is this star studded team only scored over 40 points 3 times including the national title game and they only held opponents to under 10 points in 4 of those games. Any team that can consistently do that is NOT playing the caliber of teams that will get the national recognition. Maybe if your an SEC hater you were thinking this year that Ohio State was going to make a clean sweep and shut the SEC fans up, them taking on a 1 loss Florida team. Thats fine, take a look at their schedule they scored over 40 points in 3 games (remember this is an undefeated Ohio State team) and they held opponents to under 10 points in 7 games. Looks to me like they were the better team, but WAIT they go to the title game and get CRUSHED 41-14 and sent back home. The strength of schedule wasnt as bad as Florida's and as much as people didnt want to admit it, it was obviously true at the end of the year. This will be exactly what happens to Boise State.
You will notice the same thing with every other time an SEC team has went to a national championship, the numbers are always in the Opposing non SEC teams favor, but they always manage to lose.
P.S. Tennessee won today, that puts us at a whopping 1 SEC win lol GBO

I'm obviously wasting my time here with a thread full of SEC blow hards. You all need to huddle up around a camp fire and talk about how great the SEC is. What good out of confrence team has ANY SEC TEAM PLAYED THIS YEAR??????????????
Well I think all the Boise hype can be summed up in one quote by Nick Saban from earlier this year.
When asked about what he thought of Boise scheduling a tough out of conference game, Va Tech. Saban said in the SEC we play 6 or 7 games a year like that.

They are a good story and all but they just haven't played the schedule to deserve to have a chance at the title.

Would you go out of conferance and risk a loss when your own conferance games are probably tougher than any out of conferance team you could get to play ? The SEC teams need a week or two of rest also.

alabama has two loses. they played 7 or 8 teams in the top 25. auburn and lsu played atleast 5 teams in the top 25. no other team in any other confrence can say they play more than 3 or 4 teams in the top 25. even with the tides 2 loses they still could probably win a national championship. i aint saying they will get a shot or anything like that cause they want but they are better than any team in any other confrence.

All you Abamamans kill me. I bet when the year started you all hated Auburn and loved Alabama but once you realized they are an average team that should have 3 losses you jumped on the Auburn ban wagon (with there soon to be ineligible QB)

You sayin that Boise would have injuries just like the SEC team would be like claiming a truck that was take to town only, had 50000 highway miles and never had anything halued in it vs a farm truck that hauled a gooseneck 3 times a week with 200 thousand miles on it are comparable in wear and the work truck will be in just as good a shape as the highway truck.
Why should Boise travel? Cause they haven't done it on the field yet. They don't have the fan base to justify not traveling. The big schools need so many home games a year to pay for their travel and to help the university etc. They save their home and away series for true real football matchups.
Nobody in the SEC is afraid to travel to Boise (well except maybe Florida LOL).
Tennessee routinely schedules the toughest non conference schedule out there. Home and home with Oregon, Cal, UCLA, on and on and on. Boise isn't worth a home and home. It's not worth giving up all that money to travel to their place. What have you gained if you beat them? Nothing cause they are an upstart.
Before a team is worth a home and away series there needs to be something for the big time program to benifit from. That means the team has to be big enough to mean something if they win and help with recruiting.
If you beat Boise it's just beating Boise. If you lose to Boise it's embarassing because you lost to Boise.
When they get big enough not to be an embarassment to lose to them and for it to mean something if someone beats them THEN they can ask for a home and home.
Til then get your travelin shoes on and go take on the big boys at their house.
I garentee you almost any SEC team will schedule them as a home game. Some of them would schedule them for HOMECOMING

I never said Georgia would beat them. Alabama will beat them and so sill South Carolina! LSU will get beat by Arkansas. There's how every SEC team will get there two losses. Obviously Newton is guilty. I bet Auburns cocky coach isn't so sure of himself now. I will give him credit he has no choice but to defend the cheater.
Why do you all think the media and ESPN is making such a HUGE deal about "will Boise jump TCU"? They know Auburn is going to blow it.

Talking how good Boise is lets see what the NCAA has to say about the toughest schedule played for the 2010 season as of Nov 13 2010 this is the top 4 teams in the country
Oregon 77 th out of 100
Tcu 74 th out of 100
Boise 65 th out of 100
Auburn 1 st out of 100
So who do you think is the better team now or who deserves to play in the national championship game Lsu Penn state Ohio state have a tougher schedule with a one loss record than Boise Tcu or Oregon
