Kevin

Had Stone out last night and we got caught in a rough thunder storm. Stone had already struck before it hit and the rain, thunder, and lightening was so strong my son and I had to go to the truck. The storm last about 45 minutes and when it was over and we could hear again he was treed about a half mile with the coon. I guess Stone is tougher than we are. We are enjoying him.

Ellie couldn't figure it out and stayed hooked. I ran both hounds in this area last night. The coon was heading for the same area! He didn't quite make it. Dogs put the squeeze on him and treeded it short of his escape route.

THE TUFF PUP

JARED AND HIS BUDDY HUNTED TUFF LAST NITE FOR THE FIRST TIME. HE STRUCK AND TREED A COON ON A NT.CH. FEMALE THEY HUNTED HIM WITH. JARED ROLLED THAT ONE OUT TO HIM. HE CUT HIM LOOSE ON THE WAY HOME AND HE PICKED A BAD TRACK IN A 1/4 AND SAT DOWN WITH ANOTHER COON. JARED GOT IN ABOUT 1:15 AM AND HE WAS UP FOR SCHOOL AND BRIGHT EYED TELLIN OF THE HUNT. HE'S GOT A NICE MOUTH AND HE SAID HE CAN CALL HIM WHEN HE LOOKS UP. TUFF SAW JARED COME OUT TO LEAVE FOR SCHOOL AND WAS JUMPIN AND RAISIN CAIN SO HE HAD TO RUN AND PET HIM UP QUICK. IT IS ON WITH THOSE 2. THANKS AGAIN KEVIN. <v> P.S. MY FATHER IN LAW PASSED AWAY AND WE HAVE BEEN IN NORTHERN WIS. FOR THE LAST FEW DAYS AND THAT IS ALL THAT BOY TALKED ABOUT WAS GETTIN BACK HOME TO PUT HIM IN THE WOODS.

Hey Kevin, Our young dog off Gauge is turning out something nice. He just turned a year old. We waited till about 11 months to put him in the woods. The other night he split from the old dog and had the meat. The only thing we dont like is he bawls on the tree. my son owns him and is having a real hard time learning how to call him.

PUPS

There are going to be some Gauge X RC/JennyII pups in the south she is making the trek to NNY this week she is a gorgouse female i had the pleasure of seeing at Autumn Oaks. This female is packed with ability with accurracy being her strong point.
I will provide details and contact info as soon as I get it.

I found out last night there is going to be 2 male pups from Gauge and Sage for sale. Contact Todd Ackerman 563-379-2302.
I feel that this cross will produce some fine hounds from the "coondog to coondog" technique but only time will tell !!!

We are flooded here that will make the Bluetick sectional interesting this weekend!!

I figured she was a good one. I know cj sure does like her a lot and I hunted with his jazman female in michigan and liked what I saw out of her. Sounds like if all goes well these should be some real firecrackers!

All I can say about this cross is that I have wanted this cross to happen since I first hunted with Sage in 08. This will more than likely be the last pup I ever own and maybe hound period! If this cross isn't "it" then I don't need to be hunting.
On a side note I am out of the hospital and have a couple month to recover. My pup from this cross should be ready to get started when I am ready to go also.

1st Coon Of 2010 Ole Johnny REb ( Gauge x Shadow)

Two good runs tonight and home before midnight. Reb took this coon off a hardwood ridge loaded with acorns. Coon treed in the last tree before needing to swim a stump pond. Good size coon for early Oct. It weighed 21 lbs.

Steve
Dave Gardin has one a good one. Danny worked with high pressure out of this cross he was doing very well good tree dog Dave Mullins owns him!! Ed Mauney had a female that won BFOS at Bluetick days he sold her out west somewhere. Speck is treeing coons a friend of Dannys has him last I knew. Most every pup from this cross that was hunted treed coons.

Thanks

I figured her littermates were doing good, just looking for feedback. My little female is doing good, but she was put on hold this hunting season over a mistake made by my son. He put her in the pen with my male from Rocky bottoms Stone /LilBit cross and she had 8 pups two weeks ago. I have been out of town since january to august and didn't know the breeding took place but I figure the pups will be good ones none the less. The sire of the pups is a really getting it done for me, so I'm keeping a few from the cross.
Thanks again

Ellie ( Gauge X Jenna )

Ellie did a nice job with this coon. !! I didn't do so well with the first shot. Was really surprised to see how much grit she really had in her. She is sooo friendly, I would of never thought she had it in her. Ellie belongs in Walmart greeting folks at the door lol ! Coon weighd 23 lbs about half of Ellie's weight . She dove right in and took care of business. It was like holy $hit... None the less another good night out.
