I know how you feel. We had one of our young dogs stolen off his tree but they were so stupid they didn't take the tracking collar off him looked at the garmin called the police and got our dog back. I really hope you find him there's nothing worse than a dog theive

AND THE BAD THING IS THERE HAVE BEEN 8 OTHER HOUNDS HERE IN JACKSON COUNTY STOLEN SINCE THEN. 3 IN THE GENERAL VICINITY OF WHERE ACE WAS STOLEN FROM.

sounds like everyone in your area that has a good hound, or not, needs to get together and set these thieves up. i am so sorry for your loss. do it like a neighborhood watch but coonhuntin style.

Sounds like the scumbags are local. I'd get friends rounded up,and yourselves,and keep hitting that area hard with a couple of dogs with a caged coon. Have someone with a boom stick sitting near the dogs.
The dog may not turn up,but Id bet the scum will....for the last time. >

I lost Jackpot Vegas a nice 18mon. old Red Bone pup out of Ghost x Jackpot Jackie to a snake bite , heat combination .... She stayed out all night into the next day . Iknew something was wrong and it was . I tracked her not far from the house on a creek bank dead ..... She was make'n a good one ....Vegas 8/1/10

Just read this post last nite. I'm so sorry for the loss of your fine hound. I dont know what I would do if it was one of mine, I hope I never have to find out. I truely hope one day you get closeuer, and I really hope its that you find your boy, Bigger and more beautiful than you ever thought he'd be. I know its been a yr now and I just have to share with your my experience. When I was about 5 or 6 my grandfather, who was a professional bird dog trainer, gave to me one of his field trial English Pointer bird dogs. Hoss was his name and he was getting on up in yrs and I was sooooo found of him, Pawpaw let Hoss retire with us even though we lived in a neighborhood on the lake. Well my Dad built a kennel for Hoss and we had a runner cable we would put him on for exercise. One day Hoss got off his cable and was gone. We looked EVERYWHERE. Put up flyers, add in the paper, offered reward, notified the vet offices, all of that. Nothing ever came of it. Two yrs went by and my Dad was fishing a tournament on the lake by our house. He went up in one of the slews close by and while fishing heard a dog barking. He looked up and saw Hoss straining on a tie out cable trying to get down to Dad, barking his head off. Dad quit the tournament and went straight over to these people's house. They lived barely half a mile from us further into the neighborhood. We had COVERED the place with flyers and knocked door to door. TALKED to these ppl and they said they would call if they saw him back when we were looking for Hoss. Dad knocks on the door and as the man opens the door, Dad can clearly see, behind him, the man's wife dragging Hoss down the hall by his collar as Hoss was trying to come to Dad. Dad told them we wanted our dog back and the guy threatened to call the police. Dad came home and called the police himself and they said they couldnt go in someone's home without a warrent over a dog blah blah. About two or three days later, as we head home an English Pointer crosses the rd in front of the truck. It was Hoss. Dragging about 4 ft of the tie out line, heading for our house. He was only a couple yrds from heading into the yard. He has been gone for over two yrs !!!!! Dont give up hope and keeping looking girl !!!!!!!

Its a felony in NC to steal a dog.

When I was in high school I had my Austrailian S. run off on new years eve/dissapear. I wrote her off for dead, looked everywhere searched for weeks and then some. The next August I got a call from the animal control in Hickory (20-30 miles away) and said they had had reports of a stray sleeping under peoples trucks put were unable to catch her. Long story short, the name plate paid off and he actually brought the dog to my house. Still got her to this day, she is getting old though. Never give up hope, best of luck to you both.

sorry about your dog. i'm know good organizing thing but what if every club would get pictures of lost dog's off the net and have a bullitin boured for them, know matter how far away, that might make it harder for the theif to hunt or sell them. pluss it would reach peaple whith out internet. i'm from the crawford county coon hunter's in Pa and will bring this up at the next meeting. hope you find him in good health
