Took Dragon out Tuesday night and made a drop he treed a coon at 400 yards so I went home.

Tonight I hunted with Hank Taber and Lace and her pup Sneak. I had Maggie. We treed a coon at 900 yards and the second drop Maggie made a loop and just treed and had a coon. Lace and Sneak backed her. We called it a night.

Breathless Blue dogs are no mistake

This video was taken 8 years ago. Roler was a year old. Knight is sire and his half brothers from different females all treed. Dan and Buster. You will have to excuse my buddy he is a little upset with his youngest son not knowing what to do. I laughed at him.
Four males treeing no blowing no fighting just treeing with the meat. The video was longer but I couldn't compress it to down load it all. These dogs have the coon and mouths you can hear.

Well the ole lady is in Hawaii for 11 days to I will try to get all the hunting and fishing I can in while she is gone. I didn't start out will last night I ate catfish and went to bed. Maybe I will have better luck tonight.

Made a drop before the storm hit last night

I hunted with Josh Riley and I took Maggie and Dragon. We turned loose and Dragon struck then Maggie. Then went in about 250 yards and treed but not right. We got there and it was a huge tree the crossed a deep ditch so I would have taken minus there. We cut back in and Dragon went checking mulberries and Maggie slide down the ditch about 275 yards and pulled up treed. She is sneaky like that. Dragon was sucking hind tit and he got there and treed. The coon was there. Man that itch weed really messes with Dragon. He doesn't like it one bit. Anyway the lighting was coming and Thunder so we called it a night.

No good at the UKC HUNT

Maggie ran into two different electric fences so she was done for the night. I hope she gets over it or it could be a long rest of the month.

Tried my luck at a show in Cole Camp Sunday but Maggie didn't get a win. I hate showing dogs. ( well I hate loosing) The river is out of the banks around here so the low lands are out for the rest of the summer.

Well sorry Maggie still a little nervous about the electric fences at night. I'm just doing the best I can with my leg. Not seeing another doctor yet so time will tell. I will try to hunt Dragon and Magic this week if the rain every stops. Oh well time will tell.

dragon has his worst night ever. I'm glad I hunted by myself so I would have been embarrassed. he reminds me he's only 14 months old and he look like he was 6 months old. frustrating night. I guess that's why we train young dogs. it's midnight I'm going to bed mad frustrated puzzled.

I have a ton of patience. I tell you what if someone would have been wanting a dog last night I would have priced him.
He still has some puppy in him and likes to play before going hunting and it drives me crazy. The darn dog can flat tree a coon on his own without a problem and tree all night I believe. I have never had one play before going get treed. This is new territory for me and my patience.
It like taking a kid out for a game and hoping he will show what he can do and he would rather play in the sandbox. Urrrr!

Maggie is now a Grand Champion on bench

She picked up her last bench show in at the BBOA hunt in Marshall last night. She will now show today for overall queen of show this afternoon.
The bench part is done now I need two more nite hunt wins to have my first Dual Grand female. If we can keep her away from electric fences she may just do it. She is a little shaky going through the woods and comes back from time to time which she never did before. I hope she comes out of it.
Josh Riley will hunt her again tonight. They had a dead cast last night and coons where tough to get on the limb. They spent 2 hours in one ditch. Not good.

Hunted last night

I took Dragon alone. I figured he had something to prove to me after the last time I took him out.
Well I cut him loose he made a couple of 200 yard sweeps the off he went. He got in there 800 yards and struck a rough track and he worked and worked and worked. I think he crossed the creek at least three time and finally at 1200 yards he treed and had a momma and three kittens. I had a good long walk since I just sat on the tailgate and listened to him work. I got home at midnight. I'd say he is back on my good side for now :-)

Charlie Wyatt and I turned the young dogs loose last night. He as a young male off his Image male that is sneaky and doesn't mind getting bushed.
We treed in a roots on a ditch a malberry tree and we finally treed a double. It was hot a muggy. We called it a night
Dragon was happy to have company.

Luck is not on my and Maggie's side yet but I'm pealing the weight off her and she is getting back to her old self. I feel it's a matter of time before I get her last two wins but who knows. Weather is getting much warmer that is for sure. Time will tell.
