Is J Lee throwing independent dogs a lot? Took my young dog out tonight with my old dog and we saw 6 coons in about an hour to an hour and a half. The first woods we cut and Jasper came treed then the old dog came treed about 100 yards in. He was really chopping them off and when we were 10 yards from him he went another 20 yards and treed there too. He had coon in both trees so we went to old dogs tree and she had a coon. Cut them loose again and they made a big circle got struck on the edge and Jasper came treed and the old dog went on in 50 yards and treed, again both had coons. The last dump we went back towards home and cut loose about a mile from home and the funniest thing ever happened. The dogs took off and ended up treed right behind my house on the same tree and had one there too. Being right behind the house and having seen 6 coons and all three kids cold we called it a night. Just wandering if the majority of J Lees pup are independent like this or if it may come from the dams side. If you have time on your trip this weekend and would like to stop for a hunt on your way north we could turn em loose. I have plenty of room and a couple beds in the basement you are more than welcome to stay the night after hunting before you finish your trip.

They are getting wound up here to but I still haven't seen a bigger buck after a doe yet just the little one's so far for me..But it's time!!

Sounds like he is NICE!!! I couldn't let J take all the credit for him being independent because ol Cindy is bout always by herself 90% of her winning she would be deep and alone with a coon thats her style but with that being said being independant is also a natural trait in this line in most all of them some alittle more then others but it always shows up..Thru the years I have had them independent to all degree's but I must say I think in today's world and coon population I like Jesse Lee's style the best it seems he tree's split only when he needs to if they all slam one out of the truck thats fine if he need's to get deep and alone thats fine to there's night's and cast when he will be on alot of the tree's with other dogs but there's also time's when he will be by himself all night just depends on the cast and coons and type country you are hunting I really like that about him alot of the young dogs out of him do do alot of split treeing bout everyone I have hunted with so far makes no diferrence to them wheater they are alone or in company haven't seen one independent to the fault yet but seen plenty of them split tree and just go get treed by themselve's..But the answer to your question is yes that cross pup's like to be alone..I will see how the weekend goes if time allows I may swing by I will try!! If not this time we will get together before the season is over got a guy riding with me don't know how much time he has and thanks for the invite I love getting to hunt with J's pups man there is some nice one's out there!!

Guys Bo is ready just waiting on some rain it is so dry here the old dogs have alot of trouble.Rory it is dryer here than u can believe.Bo will be a go getter when we get some rain.Its just so dry he has trouble trailing

No actually I got two real nice one a blue male bout 8mon and a blue female little over a year they are what I will be hunting this fall hope one of them potlickers makes it.. What all you going to hunt this winter?

Well i always brag on the good nights but last night the young dog looked like a young dog. First drop ran a pretty good track through the woods down to the river bank and kinda bayed at the river bank and then went back in the woods and treed. It was a den but I honestly think its where the coon came from and he lost it at the river. Second dump was an old nasty track that he messed with and messed with it and finally just couldnt put an end to it. The third dump was a little slower track that wasnt bad and he spent about 10 to 15 minutes on it and treed on a den but it was split in the side and I could see the coon on that one. Just a young dog and learning every turn out.

There you have it an honest man and honest young dog just goes to show dogs will be dogs even the super pups your like me tell it like you see it!! But I will bet one thing bet when he is four or five you will look back on this and say man he's been a goodone!!You know as well as I do a pup with his tools will make it just takes time and lots of it the key is having the tools to start with...

Yes I'm sure I will. I already think he has been a good one. He has done some pretty nice things for a young dog. There is no doubt he has the tools he is just honing them right now and by spring I think he will be tough as any at that age.

I'm just an old dumb country boy but Jason, Perry and I are planning to back Cindy up to Jesse Lee again as soon as she comes in. We've made the cross twice and for the most part the pups turned out nice. There have been reports of a dud or two but the truth is they all don't make it and we're happy with the per centages we're getting.
