HSUS Offices now “Littered” with Former Corporate Supporters
My mother always said good things happened "in threes." (Or was that celebrity deaths?) First came Yellow Tail Wine, then Pilot Travel Centers. And now a third company has withdrawn its corporate support for the Humane Society of the United States in the space of just a few weeks.

The last time a $100 million colossus took on this much water, Molly Brown found herself a lifeboat.

Meet Precious Cat, Inc. The cat litter company has been listed on HSUS's "corporate supporters" page for quite a long time, helping HSUS' "shelter partners program" by donating free products. That's going to stop.

Here's a statement that Precious Cat released a short time ago:

Precious Cat, Inc. has withdrawn it’s sponsorship of the Humane Society of the United States Shelter Partner Program. However, Precious Cat will still continue to support shelters by providing them with free Shelter Kits.

The Shelter Kits contain Cat Attract™ Litter Additive, free coupons for our cat litter products and Litter Box Solutions Booklets. These kits are to be used for cats being surrendered to shelters or for cats in the shelter with inappropriate elimination behaviors. Inappropriate elimination is the number one behavioral reason cats are abused, abandoned, and put in shelters. Precious Cat is dedicated to maintaining a happy, healthy life for all cats. Shelters can order kits by going to our website at www.preciouscat.com and clicking on the shelter page.

I think it's important that the company is continuing to donate its product to hands-on cat shelters, by the way. And I hope cat-owning HumaneWatchers will show Precious Cat some (appropriate) customer love.

Mom really was right. And I suspect that she wouldn't be happy seeing you hang out with this crowd!

Wayne Pacelle is the CEO of the multi-national, animal rights corporation, The Humane Society of the United States. The HSUS, along with its affiliate, The Fund for Animals, and two of its attorneys, was sued in Federal court recently for among other things, bribery, illegal witness payments, obstruction of justice, mail fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering. These payments were brought under the RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) Act. This is the same law that the Feds used to pursue the Gambino crime family and The Chicago Outfit (Al Capone's old organization) . Mom's a little worried that the "e" on the end of the two bosses names, Pacelle and Capone, is silent. Looks like no more milk and cookies (oops, I don't think Pacelle would want to be accused of drinking milk) for Wayne.

Assemblymember Pedro Nava, co-founder of the Animal Protection Caucus, is running for California Attorney General. Like Willie Sutton, the 20th century bank robber said in his autobiography, "Go where the money is...and go there often." And so Navagoes where the money is...and goes there often. Most recently to the tony community of Pacific Palisadesfor a fundraiser at the home of Patty Shenker, daughter of Morris Shenker. (Life magazine once called Morris Shenker, the "foremost lawyer for the Mob in the U. S." Shenker, known for his defense ofTeamster Boss Jimmy Hoffa in the 1960's, was indicted by a Federal grand jury shortly before his death for conspiring to conceal hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Internal Revenue Service and from creditors from 1967 to 1973 while he was involved in bankruptcy proceedings.) Animal owners across California should be concerned about electing the fox to guard the hen house -- both literally and
figuratively. Morris Shenker left some big shoes for Nava to fill. According to his obituary in The New York Times, Shenker "was the former head of the St. Louis Commission on Crime and Law Enforcement despite alleged business and personal ties with the gangsters who operated in the city." No milk and cookies for you either, Morris, er I mean Pedro.

Look deep into the "Ted Bundy" stare of State Senator Dean Florez. I suspect that not even Dean's mom would offer that mug chocolate chips, and he's running for Lieutenant Governor! But every organization needs its "twitchy" enforcer -- like the young Bugsy Siegel or Albert "Mad Hatter" Anastasia. Florez seems to be out to end agriculture and animal ownership in the state through his Animal-Rights- inspired agenda -- he proposed eliminating the Agriculture Department in this country's number one agricultural state and sponsored SB 250, this session's mandatory pet spay/neuter bill (the ASPCA, the HSUS's co-defendant in the RICO suit, says mandatory spay/neuter bills don't work) and the wacky SB 1277, a bill that would create a animal offenders registry (a la the sexual offenders registry) funded by a new tax on pet food. Did I mention that "Mean Dean" is a co-founder of the Animal Protection Caucus. Kind of ironic, isn't it.

Don't forget to visit the bottom of the home page at www.hsussucks. com to see the video interview of Assemblymember Solorio where he admits the new Animal Protection Caucus is really the Animal Rights Caucus.

Sports Illustrated & Time, Inc.

it's time to boycott Sports Illustrated and the rest of Time, Inc. publications.

I have sent several emails to Mark Ford, President of Sports Illustrated but have gotten no response.

Copy this email I sent to all of my hunting friends and send it to all of yours!

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is the wealthiest animal rights organization in the world. Many of their supporters believe the HSUS is affiliated with local animal shelters commonly called "humane societies". The truth is they are an anti-hunting animal rights organization that wants to ban all hunting. They have been successful in banning hunting across the country including the dove hunting ban in my home state of Michigan.

http://www.consumerfreedom.com/lett...-radical-agenda

The HSUS is also against raising animals for food. Farmers and ranchers who raise beef, dairy, hogs, chickens and eggs are in the sights of the HSUS.

The HSUS has over $200 million in assets and raises $100 million a year that they use to lobby against hunting. In Michigan alone they spent $1 million on advertising to stop dove hunting.

The only way to stop them is to cut off the flow of money. Recently, many corporate sponsors have decided to stop supporting the HSUS due to their dubious agenda.

Sports Illustrated is owned by Time, Inc.. On the HSUS website Time, Inc. donates money to the HSUS when people subscribe to their publications on the HSUS website.

http://www.magfundraising.com/Group...1&e=1168438

I have sent several emails to Mark Ford, President of Sports Illustrated asking him to stop supporting the HSUS but he has not responded.

STOP BUYING SPORTS ILLUSTRATED AND ALL TIME, INC. PUBLICATIONS. YOU CAN SEE THEM ALL ON THE LINK ABOVE.

The HSUS is for real and they are coming after you. I am sending this to all of my hunting friends, PLEASE forward to everyone you know that likes to hunt!

If you're not as passionate about keeping your right to hunt as they are about taking it away you will lose!

Next time you email Megan ask her if the wants to talk about the Federal Racketeering charges against HSUS. Also let all your state bodies know of this action. It just happened a couple of weeks ago and could bring the whole lying crowd down.

Google HSUS Racketeering and you will get a page full of info.

HSUS and Haiti

My personal opinion is that HSUS will euthanize most of these animals, but will show some "SAD" pics on TV and the HSUS web site of a few they would put in a shelter (not an HSUS shelter because HSUS doesn't operate any shelters) to be "adopted." This will raise more donations.HSUS uses the Susan Sternberg system for evaluating animals for adoption - this system condemns MOST of them to euthanization - a favored method for HSUS to eliminate more domestic animals.
ABOVE is MY opinion.
BELOW is Don Abney's opinion.
Most of you know of the tragedy which occurred in Haiti. The devastation is unbelievable. Many people were injured or lost their lives. Many are without homes. I am empathetic toward this occurrence, but there is something that I find more frightening than this.

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is currently running an advertisement on television discussing the mistreatment of animals, and the numbers of animals in shelters needing homes. Many of these dogs will be euthanized. They are offering membership into their organization. On its face this appears to be a humanitarian effort, but there are other things at work behind the scenes.

HSUS has determined that the dogs of Haiti need to be cared for, but not in their homeland. They want to import the dogs to the United States to be treated and cared for prior to being adopted. This makes no sense to me. If they report the overrun of pets in shelters, why would they want to bring Third World problems to us?

Haiti has a problem with a parasite known as Cochliomyia hominivorax, or Screw-worm. This is a type of maggot which hatches from eggs laid by a particular type of fly. Unlike common housefly maggots which feed on dead tissue, this maggot feeds on healthy flesh. The United States reported its eradication in 1982 after an approximate 100 year battle. Now, HSUS wants to bring dogs from a known producer into the United States.

The USDA requires that dogs coming from countries which have the Screw-worm Fly be tested five days prior to coming into the country instead of the usual ten days. Unfortunately, the USDA does not have an official quarantine facility for dogs, and the only place enforcing this law is Atlanta, GA.

Please write to your public officials and anyone else you believe can help with this matter. HSUS is constantly pushing for amendments to reduce pet ownership, but is taking steps which will add to the current overpopulation of shelters, and endanger the lives of our pets and our people. Stop this action, now!

Don Abney

Wolf Attack Investigated in Alaska Woman's Death
Authorities in Alaska are investigating whether a wolf attack killed a 32-year-old woman whose body was found in a remote area near a small village.
Reporter: CNN

Story 0 Comments Font Size: (CNN) -- Authorities in Alaska are investigating whether a wolf attack killed a 32-year-old woman whose body was found in a remote area near a small village.

It is "heavily assumed" that at least one wolf attacked and killed Candice Berner, a Pennsylvania native who moved to Alaska last year, said Megan Peters, a spokeswoman for the Alaska State Troopers.

Authorities saw a bloody trail where Berner had been dragged off a road and wolf tracks near the body.

If authorities determine Berner was killed by a wolf attack, it would be the first fatal encounter on record in Alaska, Peters said.

"It's hard. It's really hard. I feel horrible, you know, empty," her father, Robert Berner, told KTUU-TV in Anchorage, Alaska.

"They said Candice put up a good fight," he said, "and there must have been two, maybe three of them."

Berner described his daughter as "small and mighty," a woman who liked to box, lift weights and run, according to a dispatch in the Slippery Rock Herald, the newspaper in her Pennsylvania hometown. She was training for a race and could get into a meditative state when running, her father said.

Foul play has been ruled out, Peters said.

"Following an investigation and autopsy, we have determined it is not a criminal act," she said.

Berner's body was found Monday night in a remote area near the village of Chignik Lake, in the southwest part of the state. The community of about 105 residents is about 475 miles southwest of Anchorage.

Several Chignik Lake residents have reported recent encounters with wolves, some of them threatening, spokeswoman Peters said.

The case has been turned over to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, which will handle it "just like a homicide investigation," she said.

The agency will try to determine if the death was caused by a wolf attack, and whether it was a lone animal or a pack of wolves. If officials determine which animal was responsible, authorities will try to find it and destroy it, Peters said.

Berner was an itinerant special education teacher, according to CNN affiliate WTAE-TV of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Authorities listed her address as Perryville, Alaska, around 30 miles from where her body was found.

She had arrived in Chignik this week to work at the school there, the Slippery Rock Herald said. Berner had been with the Lake and Peninsula Borough School District since August, schools official Rick Luthi said.

Her co-workers last saw her alive at the end of the workday Monday, Luthi told the newspaper.

"She had made the comment that she wanted to get out and get some fresh air," Luthi said. "We assumed that that meant a run for Candice, because she had a habit of doing that whenever she could."

Her father was a professor and taught her first special education class, KTUU-TV said.

"I felt like it was work worth doing, and I've always felt that way," Robert Berner said. "I thought Candice would be able to handle it well, because she has a tremendous tolerance for those who are different."

Residents in Berner's hometown recalled an adventurous woman who loved the outdoors and longed to live in Alaska, WTAE said.

Patrick Grant, of Slippery Rock University's Special Education Department, told the station that Berner returned home for grad school and that he last saw her about 18 months ago.

"She cared about other people," Grant told WTAE. "She cared about kids. She cared about how she'd make a difference in the world. That's why she was there. She wanted to make a difference in the world."

Berner was featured in Slippery Rock's winter 2010 journal, where she talked about life in Alaska without television and having her groceries flown in. She also wrote a blog called "Adventures of an Alaskan Bush Teacher," posting photos on it and writing about the wildlife -- particularly the wolves that lurked in the wilderness.

"This tragedy affects all of us. We're all deeply crushed by it," Grant said. "We're all deeply concerned about someone so young reaching such a tragic death, and we're all asking ourselves, 'What can we do?' And I don't know what the answer is."

CNN's Greg Morrison and Dave Alsup contributed to this report.

When photos are put out there the people who do not hunt, but do not care if we hunt could change there minds and join the anti's. People like HSUS and PETA will use these photos against us. It is sad that we can not diplay our photos but with this crap going on we can not.

We need to be smart and learn to live with the antis and there foolish views. And yes we need everyone to help in this battle. If you do not help one day you will wake up and it will be to late!!!

MARY KAY: Humane Society Concerns

Some fans of Mary Kay® products and independent beauty consultants have expressed concerns over a recent sponsorship of a Dallas-area event. Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We have heard you and want to clarify any confusion.

First and foremost, Mary Kay is not a sponsor of this event. Mary Kay’s owner’s wife was approached to make a personal contribution towards a local event here in Dallas sponsored by the Dallas chapter of the Humane Society. This event specifically supports efforts to stop puppy mills and the organization’s stop puppy mills campaign. Out of caring and compassion for addressing puppy mills, our owner’s wife agreed to make a personal contribution. Mary Kay has contacted the Humane Society to clarify that we are not sponsors of this event and the company logo is being removed from the website.

As a company, we sincerely apologize for any confusion or causing any offense to members of the Mary Kay community.

It's great that the company has set the record straight. Score one for the good guys.

Thank you for expressing your opinions.

It is extremely unfortunate that while thousands of hunting dogs are abused and abandoned each year, you not only turn a blind eye, but deny their suffering entirely. I truly wish only a couple hound hunters did this to their animals, or that this was all made up, as you say. I have witnessed far too much cruelty to these animals. The HSUS will continue to dedicate resources and campaign against this cruelty.

You imply that The HSUS said that all hound hunters treated their dogs in this manner. Where exactly did we say that?

Subject: Hound hunting

I recently watched the video that you guys put on your website. I feel that you are off key on this. I have a red tick English and have had English coonhounds for years. My dogs are some of the fattest dogs that you will find and are just like members of the family. In fact they are so playful that they forget what they are supposed to do when they are out hunting and all they want to do is play. I don't get mad though but instead have patience with them and give them time to run around.
I don't believe in beating dogs. All this does is ruin a dog and make them to where they don't want to do anything. My dogs are fat, playful, and very friendly. Come and find out for yourself and I'm sure you will find out differently. Last fall when my good dog got ran over on the road I was so hurt by this that I almost quit hunting. Of course at the time I didn't have the money for a tracking system and I lost him. When I found him he was laying in the middle of the road dead because someone had hit him. Probably someone who was not a hounds man.
This is why hounds men put tracking systems on our dogs so that no one steals them and so that we don't lose them, not because we are lazy. Where I hunt there are many hills to walk up and down and most people who don't hunt would not be able to keep up with me. Dogs in this part of the country can get out of hearing in a hurry and it is easy to lose a dog if they don't have a tracking collar on.
I don't stay too far behind my dogs because I don't want to lose my hunting buddies. This video was ******** and you guys should be ashamed of yourselves. The part that said that hunting dogs are kept on cement floors or dirt floors was also ********. My dogs are on hardwood floors. What else are we supposed to keep our dogs on.
They aren't inside dogs and this would break their hearts to be kept inside. How would you feel if you loved to hunt but couldn't because someone had bought you as a pet and kept you inside only to let you out to go to the bathroom. If I was shut inside all day I would be depressed. Trust me, I get this way at times when the weather is bad.
Also, what about shelters that believe in putting animals down or nuturing all animals that they get. Are animals not supposed to breed. Are there supposed to be no more pets and no more dogs in this world. Dogs have a purpose in this world besides just being pets and have been mans best friend for years before the Humane Society was ever even thought of. Whether its hunting for game or finding people or rescuing people dogs have a purpose. Are we not supposed to have guard dogs, rescue dogs, or anything besides a chihuahua?
As a hounds man I don't believe in animal cruelty or puppy mills and would like to do away with them but I also don't believe in this video. Looks like you guys just found one hunter who was a jerk and filmed him or maybe even used one of your own people in the scene where the guy is acting like he is whipping the dog. The dog doesn't even yelp so this really looks fake to me.
You guys really need to think about this letter and think before you react. I am not only speaking for myself but also for all of the hounds men out there who have a brain. Don't let one bad apple cause you guys to think that the rest are bad because it is not that way. Most of us are not bad people and most of us are good christians who love our dogs like they are our children. Our dogs are our babies and to not be able to allow them to run after game in the woods would be like taking a childs toy away from them. Is that what you really want to do?
Thanks,
Regan Channel

Here is the letter that I sent these people and the response that I got back. I probably got a little too mad but I let them know what I really felt. I did try to keep it under control though. These people are hard headed and very stupid. They have no idea what they are talking about. Come on houndsmen we have to do something about this and now before these people try any harder to put a stop to what we love to do.

Update on Spay & Neuter HSUS

A SAOVA message to sportsmen, pet owners and farmers concerned about protecting their traditions, avocations and livelihoods from anti-hunting, anti-breeding, animal guardianship advocates. Forwarding and cross posting, with attribution, encouraged.
Dear SAOVA friends,

Today we received some good news from lobbyist and attorney, Frank Losey, regarding the Campaign to Spay and Neuter HSUS.

Frank worked for over 2 years and has compiled 755 pages of documents and proof of the excessive lobbying activities of HSUS. His call to action for animal owners and enthusiasts to write letters to the tax fraud office of IRS resulted in thousands of letters from all 50 states. Frank’s work and your efforts have not gone unnoticed by the IRS.

Below is Frank’s message. Cross posting is encouraged.

Susan WolfSportsmen's and Animal Owners' Voting Alliance - http://saova.orgIssue lobbying and working to identify and elect supportive legislators

Dear Animal Owners and Enthusiasts,

A number of individuals who wrote to the IRS have now received form a form letter response from the IRS Office in Dallas . Since some have received the form letters, that indicates that all will. Typing names and addresses on 4,500-5,000 form letters and envelopes does take a little time!!

Although form letters are often not worth the paper they are written on, this form letter is different for a number of reasons, including those set out below:

1. Unlike most form letters which are signed by a lower ranking individual, this form letter is signed by the Acting Director of the Exempt Organization Examinations Division.

2. The IRS bureaucratic glacier is now moving.
3. The form letter goes one step further and asks for other relevant info if you have it.
4. The fact that the Dallas Office is involved means that a total of four IRS (Fraud-Related) Offices are now discussing among themselves what is going on. (The other three Offices are Ogden , Utah , Fresno , CA and Washington DC .) Discussion means that the IRS is taking serious the documentation that I have previously sent, as well as at least 4,500 confirmed letters that the IRS has received.
5. If the IRS is sending out form letters to at least 4,500 letter-writers, which states send more info if you have it, this means that the IRS is about to open up a serious investigation, and probably already has, especially in light of the fact the HSUS has taken off of its website some of its "finger tip" links having to do with lobbying. You now have to use the HSUS search engine.
6. I have a new point of contact to inundate with 755 pages of incriminating documents, in the unlikely event that my seven submissions have not been copied and forwarded to the Dallas Office.
7. The IRS "chatter," which was a primary purpose of the letter writing campaign, is in full motion.

8. The most important thing is that the IRS is not ignoring the issues raised and is asking for additional information if it is available. I'm working on that!!

A HUGE "THANK YOU" TO ALL WHO WROTE TO THE IRS!!!!

Frank Losey

Where

I'm NOT doubting that Time, Inc. donates to HSUS - where can we find the info so that when we contact them we'll have actual FACTS, time frames and dollar amounts?

The list of magazines is right on the HSUS website. 40% of the purchase price goes to the HSUS.

I have sent emails to many Time, Inc. employees including SI President Mark Ford but have got no response.

I don't understand

What is the connection of the AKC Gazette magazine to Time, Inc.? How can Time Inc. "own" all of these magazines?
Doesn't AKC publish the AKC Gazette?
Isn't TIME, Inc. the one donating to HSUS as a marketing operation to sell magazines?
I believe you'd need to contact all of these magazine publishers & have them request that Time, Inc. remove them from the Time Inc. list of sales contributing to HSUS.
Anyone know?

The list of magazines above is directly off the HSUS site which is redirected to QSP, a Time, Inc. owned fundraising company.

Time, Inc. only owns 21 magazines for the U.S. market but Time, Inc. owns QSP which is a fundraising site that the HSUS uses for it's magazine subscription donations.

you can subscribe to any of the above magazines through the HSUS site with 40% going to the HSUS.

Because QSP basically sells magazine subscriptions as a fundraiser for schools and "non-profit" companies the editors of the magazines may not realize they are donating to the HSUS. I doubt the AKC would agree with giving money to the HSUS.

I've noticed that the links to certain HSUS pages only work some of the time. It could be because they are time sensitive. It appears the HSUS is trying to be covert.

Here is the link to the HSUS corporate fundraising page.
