I think Corie is coming down with his young blue male off Magic so I will get to see him go. I will just take Dragon and see what the young dogs can get done. So Saturday we will get together.

Corie couldn't make it down so maybe next Saturday we can hunt.
A guy come over to hunt with Magic so not sure how it went. I know they put one on the outside but that's all I know.

Corie will be down Saturday. His 13 month old young male has treed 45 coons alone. This is Corie's first coonhound and he trained him all by himself. I am impressed. He has even caught 7 on the ground so he has got some smarts and wheels on him.

Hunted with Corie Smith tonight

I hunted Dragon and Maggie he hunt Majestic. We cut them loose Dragon and Maggie went East and Majestic went West. Maggie and Dragon struck in the marsh deep and Majestic struck in the timber. He has real nice mouth and easy to hear.
Well Maggie and Dragon got treed 1.2 miles away so we walked to them and the had a nice boar that we rolled out.
Majestic was trying to get right but never did. I cut Dragon and Maggie back in the down by the bank they went and Dragon got caught in a trap and that ended the night.

Corey and his friend stopped by on their way home last night, they said your dogs did a good job getting one bushed. That sure is a good looking young dog that Corey has and they say he is a coon dog too. Enjoyed meeting them.........Tim

Corie is so proud of this male off Magic. Majestic has a real good mouth and has treed 44 coon alone during season he just turned 13 months old. I think that is good of any young dog alone.
We didn't have a great with him but we will go again and see what we can get done.
I hope we can have him ready for some hunts this Spring if all works out.

Tyler Haley male pup Buck out of Maggie and Magic

Headed with him and Corie Smiths male Majestic. Well Majestic got first strike but Buck got first tree. Man he can fly on a track. He picks his head up and drifts the bang two big bawl locates and chop on the tree.

Buck also pick off a layup but didn't have the confidence to stay on it. He actually had two up the tree.

Majestic and him are both very independent dogs.

Well I thought the video would work but not sure why it isn't

BLuetick fever

Hey elmo I enjoyed the hunt the other night! you have some of the finest blue dogs iv hunted with. Unfortunately had to see dragon caught in a trap. Thanks for letting me tag along with you and corie. You have triggered me to have to have a bluetick now. Thanks gain for letting me tag along. Corie has kinda been discouraged lately because mystic hasn't been wanting to stayed treed but were working on it. Hes a very nice hound and has a lot of brains. Hes been a natural all along. We took him and my black and tan lastnight and dropped 2 times and treed 2 coons. It was a very nice short hunt.

Tyler Haley called me tonight said Buck went 693 yard and had the meat then he treed a layup.
That dogs is making a very fine hound.

Corie be patient the dog has treed you 46 coons alone so might have to put him a for a few weeks

Majestic treed one tonight and stayed good Corie is happy once again. That young man is hunting the hair off his male.

I might have to make the Magic x Maggie cross again so I can get myself one again.

Lots of decisions to think about. Do I want to raise a litter out of Maggie or Do I want to lease her out or sell her. I live in town so raising a litter is a little hard to do. I only can have 4 dogs and my pens are full.
I just have so many to get ready for the hunts between Lumber , Dragon and Maggie to finish them all by myself isn't easy. I hate seeing good dogs sit in the pen.
Maggie has one win to grand the 3 to Grand show. Lumber needs all 5 and Dragon hasn't seen a hunt yet.
Poor ole Magic just get to set and watch everybody else get woods time.
I'm glad Austin has put him in the woods all winter long.

Ending the season

Corie and I ended our season Friday night. Mystic went off 850 yards and split from my dog and had the coon. Held it for about 45 minutes. Then my hound treed one and we called it a night. were going to let the dogs off for a month and hit hard again.

Chris that is good. Old man winter looks like it is setting in but this weekend there is plenty good weather and it might melt our snow off. If so I may try the woods a night here.

7 inches of snow. I don't hunt in the snow unless I'm running rabbit dogs. Being that I have no beagles and all other seasons is closed it' time to do some dancing and prancing around.

9+ years old Gr Nite Ch

Still acts like he can go all night. Magic is my Breathless Blue stock and I believe in it all the way. Layup, cold tracks, hot tracks and stay put treedog. Likes to split if he has to and will stay hooked if he gets bushed.

He is still able to breed and would love a girlfriend or two.

This hound would sure put the hound look and size into your pups. That is besides being a nice coon hound! He is a good one Elmo, I hope you can get a another female or two breed to him before age catches up.

The Breathless Blues is what I have won and lost with since 1994 and they have made me happy in he cold winter or hot summer. They are consistent coon treeing dogs in any man country and the accuracy is even better. Good layup stay put treedogs. Not aggressive on the wood or in the kennels. Early starters that seem to be nice coondogs at a year old.
Corey Smith can contest to that with his Majistic male. I believe he treed 50 with him this last winter and he was less than 13 months old alone. That is impressive.
Tyler Haley has the littermate to him that his a track drifting come treed type dog. He started at 6 months old and hasn't looked back. They seem to be independent but not to a fault. They all seem to carry the mouth I like and the big ole locate that you can call.
Time will tell. I'm breeding for me and my pleasure and love of hunting and winning. Give ole Magic a try is all I can say. He is 9 but I'm not afraid to hunt him anywhere.

Just keep him in mind. He came from a great line of coondogs that started early and where stay put accurate treedogs. He looks like he producing his likeness
