Appreciate it Scott. Gone let my 15 yr old son handle her Friday night. We got a mini-slam. I'm gone hunt Cotton and hope all this alone time and hard hunting will pay off for me. I've got my hands full with 3 females that need to be in the hunts. BB has a 1st and 2nd. Dolly has a 1st. Cotton is primed and ready and has been puttin it on BB and Dolly pleasure hunting.

Thanks Scott I will be patient. Cotton has progressed and came a long way. I am looking forward to seeing how she reacts in a cast. The alone time has boosted her independence level so I will see what happens Friday night!! Darren

Myers I think this will work. Gary Uchtman agrees with me that this should be a good cross, but you can never be sure til you do it. I know what Dixie has to offer and have hunted several generations behind her. Hope it all works out!!

Hunted last night for a couple drops. Turned BB and Twister (Cottons Brother) loose first. BB struck followed by Twister. they worked track in bottom and crossed creek. BB set up tree and treed but not right. Ended up coming to meet me, probly a possum as she has been shocked on possum. Turned Cotton and Dolly loose. Dolly struck in at about 100yds. followed by Cotton. Cotton smoked track about 150 yds and slammed tree. Dolly got in gear and backed her. Both gyps treed hard and we just listened for a while. Got in to the tree and looked for about 10 minutes and finally spotted coon. He sure didnt look at us. We sqaulled and pulled vines, beat on tree and that sucker never looked. Gone be rough in the hunts for awhile. Turned BB out one last time and she just didnt hunt well. Twister opened up just a little ways in and a big dillar came by us. BB dont want no part of them!!

Dixie

Myers I have her at my house but I didnt take a chance on hunting her. I have her leased to breed. I know Rick Marcus well and he is a hard to please hunter. He owns Dixie and has turned down $5000 for her on different occasions. I offered him $3500 for her just a couple months ago and he wouldn't even talk to me about it. She seems to be a reproducer as well. She was bred to RJ out of Rambo II with great results. She is like her momma and will be alone most of the time. She is a hard going dog that will get deep and get hooked. She is an accurate dog as well. Bawl mouth track dog and chop on tree. Only wish he would have hunted her in some hunts. She is a sister to RAZOR that Terry Tibbs owns, he is a coondog too!! Darren

Pedigree

This is my female that I'm partners with Terry Tibbs on. She has been in 3 hunts and has a 1st and a 2nd. Very quick tree dog that is a hard tree dog. Good male dog mouth. I am really liking her alot. She has a few issues but we are working those out!!

Clyde BB is a hard going gyp that is fairly independent. She is a clean up on the wood hard tree dog that will have a coon. She is 4 but has never been pushed in the woods or the hunts. I have won two outa three casts with her. She will split and hold pressure. She has had a dillar problem but we got her attention. With a couple more months of hard hunting she should be really nice. One strong point she has is she is a first tree dog. I have had every first tree but one in three hunts. I am liking her and you know how hard I am to please. Darren

I didn't read hard enough, I saw Bell, not BB. Sounds like she's a nice one!

Hunt

Turned loose a couple times last night. First turnout cut Cotton and BB. Cotton struck in at about 250yds, followed by BB. They worked and old track down the bottom and both set up a tree. They decided that Mr. Coon had moved on and never really committed to the tree. They went on about 300 more yds down the bottom and Cotton loaded up immediately followed by BB. We took our time and drove around to them. On the way to the tree BB sounded muffled but Cotton was hammering. As we got closer I could tell BB was in the tree. It was a huge Den and BB was completely inside the tree. We got them leashed up and couldnt find the coon on the outside. Im sure it was an old sow hangin out in the den. Turned my nephew and my Rickett dog and Drake's new dog Twister loose. They struck quick and started trailing thru the bottom. Track seemed rough and they were having a hard time getting it going. Finally they crossed the creek and moved the track on out. We drove around and Rickett was treed on a big pine tree. He treed hard but we couldnt find the coon. We called it a night and gone try it tonite. Keep'em Lookin Up!!

Mini-slam

Hunted in ukc mini-slam in the pouring rain. I hunted Cotton and won my cast with 200+. Got a first place win on her. Drake handled BB for me and won his cast. Finished her out to ntch. The other cast didn't tree a coon so the two blue gyps took all the money. Smiling ear to ear !!! Keepem lookin up!!! Darren.

Thanks guys. I appreciate it. I am pleased with these gyps. Drake did a good job handling BB for me. He is 15 and has hunted in 6 casts. Last night was his first cast win so I am tickled for him. Need to get him in some youth hunts. Some guys around here sit on the couch on these bad nights during the week and call me crazy for pleasure hunting in the wind and rain. Last night it paid off for us. Keep those blue dogs rolling guys, we got to hunt hard, cull hard and improve the blue breed!!! Darren.

Well rolled in last night at 3:00am and got up this morning at 7:00am and drove 7hrs to Calico Rock, Arkansas to Gary Uchtmans and bred Dixie to Jobe. I feel good about this cross. Should be good looking, loud , hard going tree dogs. Time will tell if I made the right decision or not. We will hunt the hair off their eyes and the toenails off their feet. We will know then!!! Keep'em Lookin Up!! Darren
