-- two bit solid northern tide (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=928260167)

Hey Carl. We will keep ya posted. Plan for now is take tide down in about a month. I think the Santana's have a date lined up for him. Chip will stay here for the spring to tree a few more coon north of the border. If we can make bluetick days in may then we might take chip down then and leave him in the hills for a bit and see how he does there. I belive with some time and effort he would hold his own if hauled to hunts. He gets open quick, drives a good track to catch and is pretty good about having a coon. Too bad ya lost fly. Might of made a good cross on chip someday.

Winter set in early this year down this way, had our first snow first weekend of December and been getting dumped on every since. Had a break in the weather there a few weeks ago and got out coonhunting a couple nites. I'm impatiently waiting spring haha, hoping to get my young male tuned up and going to try and make the trip to Bluetick Days.

I can see it now . "Northern Swamp People " ,staring Luke ,Paul, and Ernie with a guest appearance from southern cousin Fred. Shoot em Luke ,Shoot em . "Muck Tuk Annie " will be the theme song. First episode will be " I can skin a Coon in 90 seconds " .

Now that sounds like a show Parker!!

We might not have gators in these cedar swamps, but we got coons the size of bears, porkies that would choke a black panther, and fishers mean enuff to eat a cotton mouth snake! And if ya dont belive all that just come up for a hunt and after a couple shots of gibsons gold label youl belive anything!

Posted by BlueLabelKennel on 02-11-2014 12:51 AM:

It's gettin good

Does a bottle of that "Gibsons Gold Label" come in a gift box w/ a Purnurple Sock ? I can just imagine sippin on that all night. A fellow can probably get up in the morning ,Growl like a Bear ,and eat razor blades for breakfast. If I was a bettin' man ,I'd say the first episode was made this fall when Cuzzin Fred and Bob the Bartender were up to visit .(as previous pics show)Come on,Luke ,Let us in on the u-tube site, so we can preview it !LOL!

If you got an old VHS tape that is a relic. If the weather don't get better I might have to break out some of the old classics to watch.

Our hockey team might of won, but i for one cant even skate!!

Another great weekend. Lotsa gibsons, jack and wine (and a whole lota BS) That clear stuff in the mason jar is a little too tuff for this northerner though.

cross

The Ginny female is finaly comin in heat. You can see details on her earlier in this thread. We had planned on breedin her to Tide but hes back down south now. I think were gona try crossing her with big CHIP. He is still young and not yet proven in the stud pen, but he carries alot of the traits we like in this line of dogs. Struck fast, drives a good track to catch and acurate. If we get the cross done i will repost pics and pedigrees and more details. If anybodies interested in this cross then drop us a line.

Luke got Ginny bred to Chip and she's back home now. Hoping she's caught with a good, healthy litter. If all goes well, pups will be available. Luke has provided details on Chip, and there are plenty of guys out there who can vouch for Ginny as a solid coonhound, as well as her being a pleasure to have around.

Big chip went 3 for 3 tonight. Him and i are both getting sick of walking in the snow. Its slowly melting away but still has alot to go.

Ol Chip

is sure looking good Luke .I hope to get a chance to hunt with him.Good luke on your chip and Ginny cross.

Luke is Ken still putting gloves on to pet Duke? LOL
Maybe this rain will melt enough snow to do some consistant hunting.
Give me a call when you get a chance.

Bob, The bit weve run chip this spring he continues to improve and done well. Hes already fitting the bill, but hes never been pushed hard and if this weather ever breaks and we do some consistant huntin i think he will be nice. Startin to line up some details on motel rooms for blutick days. Probly no problem getting in on a room with one of us. I will giv u a shout soon when i get the details worked out.

Dave, ken says duke comes to him a little easier know! Along the roads the snow is going down, but after walkin to 3 trees in the bush last night(none were too close) i was wore out. Still deep in spots. Coons seem to be movin well though, all long fast chases on the ice in the swamps. Ice still holds up the coon and dogs, but very tricky for me to navigate across. Gona be alot of water layin on it after todays rain.

Tide

Luke you still got snow up there..hope its all gone....

Posted by LUKE SOLMES on 04-26-2014 04:28 PM:

Harald

Most of the spots i hunt to the south of me the snow is pretty much gone with execeptions of a few pockets in the thick cedar swamps. Right around my house the north east facing hillsides that dont get much sun still have some. But definatly starting to feel like spring finaly?

We got a convoy headed down to blu days. Were at the super 8. Stop by after the hunt one night for a shot of canadian whisky!
