Chris Halverson and I just bred our Sky female out of Gr Nt' Walt'z Roadblock ( Double Bozo, Nailor) and Gr Nt' Ristau's Coon Creek Jenny ( Wild Casey x Creek Ridge Sky & full sister to Casey) to Chris' Torque dog off of Gr Nt' Finley River Boomer and Chris' Dual Gr Taz female. These two should complement each other very well and I'm excited about the cross.
I've been hunting with Chris and his young male, Cam, who is off of Torque. He is nice. I've seen him tree ahead of his mama, Sable, and Sky. Neither of those two females are slouches.
Torque and Cam both have huge mouths and are good lookers!!
I could go on and on why I like this cross but I'll wait until pups are born.
Not sure if we consider them Finley River Dogs but they should definately be considered "Finley River Style of Dogs". Balanced trail and tree hounds.

How's your Card x Honey pup doing?
Well.shes huge.loud and healthy lol..Shes been hitting some good tracks when i take her out,she wont go with the other dog so shes pretty independent.Im having trouble gettin her to finish her tracks and get out and hunt deep but if I can solve those problems I think she will be alright..If shes anything like her parents she should turn into a HARD hunter.
Terry Willford
I will try to get you a picture. He is put together well. Fast on track, loud mouth, hard tree dog. Good Hunting, Robert

Does anyone know how to get a hold of William (Cody) Hanson? I bought a nice female from him a couple years ago and was looking to talk to him about getting another one.
If you have a phone # for him you can email it to me at kyle@cornbeltkennels.com Thanks.

I haven't had enough experience with "Nailor" dogs to even have an opinion on them. I kinda assume its like "Lipper" dogs, although both Lipper and Nailor were examples of strong reproducers they had so many different types of females being bred to them that it is hard to come to a conclusion as to what traits were dominant from the sire as opposed to the dozens or hundreds of poor females that were bred to them.
Chris and I are aware that the shot of Nailor in there will scare away the "Finley River" purests, to some extent it scared Chris away which allowed me to acquire half interest in Sky. Chris tends to only feed dogs whose pedigree excludes Nailor, Sackett Jr, Stylish Harry, Rat Attack, and etc... Sky is the exception. She is a "bonafide coondog" and could eat feed at almost anyones house. We can provide lots of references on Sky from dedicated hunters that have been in the winner's circle. Sky has a whole pile of win slips in UKC with a bunch of 2nds and a few 3rds & etc. We just haven't been able to get that first place on her.
Sky's mother is one of the best hounds I've ever been to the timber with and she is a reproducer although most her offspring have never seen a nitehunt. I have hunted with 6 out of her 10 or so living offspring out of 3 different litters and they are all coondogs of some caliber and 2 for sure were started by the worst dog trainers in the country. There are a bunch of grandpups to old Jenny that are half cur running around the area and most can't be bought from the hidehunters who feed them, that should say something about the reproducing ability in these dogs. From Logan's Julie, Clover, Casey, Wessel's Julie, Ristau's Jenny on down have all been solid reproducers.
I only own half of Sky, but I can tell you that I wouldn't sell her for the price of a new pickup. She isn't perfect but I've yet to see one that is. I'll show her against anything. She has alot of Finley River type traits and she suits me just fine.
RH-- Could you post or PM me the ped on your Gem III dog?? My first dog was off Wild Casey and a Finley River gyp that had some similar breeding to Hanson's Gem female.

She fell about 25 feet out of a tree Monday night while hunting..Shes pretty slow right now but i think she will be alright.

Finley River
Just curious if anyone knows anything about Lonnie Mears dog Finley River Timber. has anyone hunted with him? He is off Finley River Lonnie semen. I bought a pup off Lonnie recently and it is off this dog. Lonnie speaks real high of him. The mother of the pup is Finley River Kiss. Thanks....

Terry Willford re: SFR Jammin Mundar
Terry,
Raymond Lassiter hunted SFR Jammin Mundar before he went to Sheldon's. Raymond said he had a good bawl mouth on track and was a good hard chop mouth tree dog. Raymond said Sheldon caught 104 coons with him that season. Sheldon never hunted him in competition. Tree Jammin Mundar was 4th in the UKC Wd. Hunt and Mundo, Jr. was 13th in the UKC Wd. Hunt. Gold Creek Mundo finished in the top 20 of the ACHA World Hunt.
Good Hunting,
Robert

The Gasconade River is located in south central Missouri.

Terry Willford and Wkfii re: Pac Man
Pac Man's pedigree: Wd Ch. Kentucky River Striker, Gann's Finisher, Jr. , and Wd. Ch. Gann's Finisher. If you have seen those hounds or pictures, Pac Man fits in nicely. Pac Man was sold by Leroy Penny from Sturgeon, Mo at that time.
Good Hunting,
Robert
