Hey Jim, hope she works out well for ya!
I am sure she will Ken. I'm waiting for a call back from Gary on the dates, he had to take his wife out to the movies and we will talk tomorrow night. I'll let you, Mike, Karl, and Matt know the dates once I have them locked down.

Trueboy and Rena. Hunt last night with the twins, Kyle and Cam O'Mara. Had Gin and Boone along, but they still act like pups.
Boone, my 10 m/o gyp off my ol' Gertie X Upson's Rocky. I sell her if anyone is interest, $300.00. She needs more work and I don't have time, mainly due to my health:

Earl
I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that Earl is doing great. I hunted him on coyotes through the winter and had a ball with him. The first one I dropped him on he ran it for four hours and averaged 6.7 miles and hour and travel 14.5 miles. He just keeps getting better and better the older he gets. I bred him to a female I have here that goes back to my Reggie and Jessie. This is going to be a good cross. Thanks again for selling me him again.
Thanks for the update Pat. I hope he keeps doing well for you!

With sadness in my heart, I received word from John Boumeester of Minnesota had to put his nice young female Stella down due to kidney failure. She was a great young gyp. It breaks my heart. Stella was out of Ben X Crow, which has been a good cross so far. Hopefully we can help John out with replacing this nice gyp.

Guy Ormiston contacted me about a young gyp I sold to Eddie Moore a couple years ago out of Trip X Gertie (She is a younger sister to KDS Just Ben). It seems Travis Black out in west Texas bought her off Mr. Moore and bred her to his Duke male, who goes back heavy to old Ormiston hounds. Duke was a lion hound in New Mexico before being retired to a coon hound for Travis. Anyhow, this cross peeked my interest, especially since Guy himself is getting a pup. Very heavy Mountain Music Blue and Smokey River Diamond Jim blood here in this cross Travis made. I will be calling Mr. Black to get me a female reserved as this is heavy in blood I love. As Guy Ormiston has said, I'm "gathering the blood."

Crow is coming into season. If all checks out, she'll be with Ben in 10-11 days. Brook will be coming in soon too, and hopefully we can get her breed to one of Ken Hitchcock's good males.

Took Brook and Crow to Schultz Vet Clinic today to see where they are at in their heat cycles. Long story short... Crow is at Karl's with Ben getting bred, and Brook is about a week out from going to see Huck at Ken Hitchcock's. Glad I had Crow checked as she is much further along and if I would've counted her days when I first saw blood, I would've been too late. Also had a nice lunch with Scot Crandall, who graciously paid for lunch... owe you buddy!

Karl Stacer reports Crow and Ben are getting along well. Hope this produces a nice litter of pups. Been waiting too long to do this cross again. First one was very good. Brook is coming on more everyday. Hopefully she'll be with Huck by week's end.

Pm for ya Jim, sure am glad we got to visit a little.
Crow is safely home. Hopefully full of another litter of puppies of Ben. The first cross was a good one, so hope this one fares as well. Brook will be going north tomorrow to Ken Hitchcock's to be bred to his Huck male. Huck is off Matt Turner's old Stinger male and Mike Fairchild's good Diamond bitch. Brook hasn't been bred before, so I hope this one also fares well. Got a male pup coming later this summer from Travis Black off a double bred Poorboy 2 y/o bitch that come from me and his 5 y/o male dog that is rich with old Ormiston breeding, including the great T-wolf hound of the late Buck Timon's. Karl Stacer and I will be at Bluetick Days Saturday. Hope to see a lot of old friends and maybe make some new ones...

that cross from travis
I would sure like to see that pedigree on paper if its just a copy and paste and no trouble.
Timberwolf male of Buck Timmons and the Ormiston hounds sure adds alot of that good ole Bob Gaither blood that seems to be getting hard to find in there,,,,
looks good there Jim

It's been busy here lately trying to get Brook and Crow bred. Crow's been home nearly 2 weeks now, hopefully full of Ben pups. Brook will be home on Tuesday and God willing she has some Huck pups in her belly. Boone has been worked on some live trapped coon this past week and is starting to show some sand. Even young Ann (Kidd X Angel) is coming along at a good pace. I want to thank Ken Hitchcock for helping with trying to get Brook bred to Huck. We'll know in a couple weeks after an ultrasound weather we will have pups or not. I went to the State Hunt last Saturday. I was stunned by the dearth of blue dogs that were hunted Friday night! Only 2? Wow! I did get to visit with Jim Wale. Been too long since Jim and I have visited. I did see a nice young male hound Tim Walkowski had on the grounds. Real nice houndy male doubled up on Pop-a-Top and the Chief X Punkin cross. I'll keep an eye on that hound for future reference. Had a nice talk with weekend with Scott Oulds over in Canada. Need to get over and hunt with Scott and his dad... been too long since we turned hounds loose together in the Ontario bush!

Brook is home. I want to thank Ken and Sandy Hitchcock for taking care of her as she kicked the hell out of Huck. Hopefully she has some pups.

No problem Jim, bring her back anytime.
Pat Q made some nice comments on his Earl hound off Slewfoot X Crow on Mike Fairchild's thread which were nice to hear. We finally have our group lined out for our Canadian bear hunt in October with Gary Meeks at Beardown Outfitters Ontario. Here's our group, that includes Master Meeks himself: Karl Stacer, myself, Mike and Amanda Fairchild, and Ken Hitchcock. It'll be a fun week with some great blue power on those big bruins!
