-- Hey any strange "encounters" while hunting? (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=13829)

One night we were out hunting and walking across a cornfield. All of us laughin and jokin payin no attention to anything. About that time a buddy trailin up the back screams like a girl and takes off runnin through the field. Turns out an Amish man stepped out from behind the corn and asked him how his hunt was. Scared him to death.
Another night on Comp hunt we were walking up a hill and stepped on a baby deer, it let at blood curdling sound. there were 4 hunters that sure set sail.

I treed a possum one night a few years ago. I had no idea possums could fly into trees and the coon must have bailed. That was all I could think happened.

If you notice in a lot of these post, people had been drinking some sort of alcohol. Maybe they were into drugs also. Who knows for sure, but them. I believe alcohol and drugs alter the person's mind. Often they make a person hear and see strange things. Drugs and alcohol make people demonic if you ask me. Stop the drinking and drugging and see a change in your life today.

It didn't happen to me but I was told about a hunt in Mississippi back in the early '70's.

They had treed a opposom in a sappling on a steep hillside. He had climbed the tree and bent it over. As his buddy was reaching to grab the opposom ,one of the dogs jumped up on him and he lost his footing and his grip on the tree. He said the last they saw of the opposom was him sailing out over the valley into the dark.

We heard a big cat scream one night. An hour later search and rescue team come by looking for a missing woman who was out horseback riding. They found her in the same place the cat was screaming!

This goes back to 1988, I was about 16 at the time. My older cousin and I hunted in an area in the Catskill Mtns. in NY, between Wurtsboro and Ellenville. We had a section of woods that had an access road through it to a dead end with a pond and an old abandoned house. During the day we would sometimes ride horses down that road so we were pretty familiar with the terrain and the house. From the public road down the access road to the house was about 2 miles. The nearest house that anyone lived in was a few miles away from the dirt road. In all of the times we were back there we never saw anyone around. Well one night we decided to take a ride after dinner with one of his dogs. The spot we hunted didnt have a lot of raccoons, so we figured the pond and stream to it would be a good place to find a quick coon to tree. We drove down and parked near the old house and let the dog go. It took about 2 or 3 min and the dog struck and treed. We walked down and found the dog and the coon. While we were walking in we thought we heard something in the woods beside us, but figured it was a deer or coyote. We looked but found nothing with the light. Walking the dog back to the truck we both heard something and he asked me if I heard someone cough. I did hear something and got that weird feeling you get when something isnt quite right. We started to walk a little faster, and got back to the truck. We didnt have a dog box but had the dog chained in the back of the truck. As we were tying him up he barked and growled at something towards the house. We got into the truck and my cousin turned his spot light on and scanned the woods. We didnt see anything out of the ordinary, and shined the house. In the upstairs window there was a person staring out at us. We couldnt get out of there quick enough. No one lived there, there wasnt even glass in the windows or a front door on the place.

I've got one that isn't to bad but I lived in Georgia for a while. Me and 2 friends went into the mountains for a 2 week bear and deer hunting trip. We took enough moonshine to float a ship. We were setting around the fire getting lit up and one of the fellas stood up and started breathing real hard flexing his muscles and took off running through the woods. All I could hear was branches breaking and he kept going. Wasn't anything we could do so eventually just passed out. Next morning he came walking out of the woods with no shirt on all bruzed and scratched up. He didn't remember it.

2 years ago a group of us were driving out a cedar swamp on public land. One of my buddies came across a gut pile and the guy right next to him pointed out a pair of underwear about ten feet away from the pile. Its even creapier because when we walked in a guy who was hunting was parked in the same parking lot as us and was in a old ice cream truck. The things you would see on syfy and tell yourself no stupid dont in there! Lets just say we all had shivers down our spine
