Decisions

Sky is back at the vet again with that leg. Getting another X ray, but the vet seems to think she has popped all the ligaments down by her foot. I was hoping to get her finished, and had a real good shot at the Gov. cup until a little PKC buddy up work took care of that. I was only 25 behind the 1st place winner with 45 minutes to hunt and 2 guys said she was moving to the left when she was locked down. There was no out voting them on the deal. Coon was seen when I re-treed her.
Sickening...

Sounds like 3 options at the present time.
1. fuse all the bones together (lose all mobility)
2. pin them all together (same outcome)
3. amputate at the shoulder... Probably the best if I'm going to continue hunting her, but really don't want to have a 3 legged dog too awfully bad...

I've been hoping the X ray shows something they missed before, but won't know til this afternoon.

On the bright side... Is there another little Thorson here yet?

That really sucks. Hopefully it won't come to that. Keep me posted.

No baby yet. Better get here soon.

Whew!

Just got a call from the vet. She has not 1 but 2 bones broken in the foot the other vet missed in Marshalltown. That and a bone in her leg is bowing. He says he thinks there is a calcium deficiency from the pregnancy, and nursing. Another cast, calcium pills, and maybe be nursing her to shape by hide season.
He's not counting out the ligament damage yet, but says healing the bones is the first place to start.

Man that poor dog has been through it all. I guess that's good news though.

That really stinks tully. Hopefully she gets healed up quick and this is it.

Steve
We have a couple games down there. We travel to Mount Pleasant, Fort Madison and Keokuk. I'd like to kick someone at the boys union right in the slats for giving us this travel schedule. Our freshman have to leave school around 1. To do all three rode trips in one year is assnine.

The problem with all this travel (not just us) is the cost. It's gonna cost us a fortune in travel this year. Then on top of that the following year when those games are home games your gates will be way down so you are taking it in the shorts 2 years in a row.

Cole Thomas Thorson our newest edition was born this morning at 2:09 am. Everyone is doing great, minus the no sleep part. Only thing amy was worried about was getting out sat morning before the Hawkeye game.

Congratulations

On the new addition to the family. Tell Amy, perfect timing, you didn't have to miss school or football practice!!! She can just relax and watch the game on tv--- shouldn't be too big of a challenge anyway. Just a warm-up for next week. Take care, Ron.

Thanks

Ron
We about blew that warm up game last year.

Congrats Corey! Glad everybody is healthy and doing well!

Waggs is starting to get back to where she was, got in there and treed with Shaker tonite on the only coon we saw. Seemed they weren't moving where we were.

Unfortunately she started dripping, 2 months early. Better now than November I guess. Shaker let us know she was coming in.

that's good. A little time in woods and she should make it. Seems like there is a lot of dogs coming in right now. Lighting is is at my house driving that pounder pup nuts. He thinks he's a big stud dog. At least till he got a knot on his head for barking.
