That's the way a redbone suppose to look right there. Hennings cheif and famous amos gotta be 2 of the most popluar redbones in their day. I hunted with a couple that were pretty decent out of them.

Mr. CLEAN

Mr. Clean will be the most famous. He wins in EVERY registry and you can still hunt with him. Hes not a "retired" stud dog. Just look at all the plus points he puts up. The dog wins by treeing coons and lots of them.

When a few more of his pups get older his credibility as the most famous will only rise!

I did not grow up as a 'hound' person and have only been in hounds a few years now and am too young to know half of the dogs mentioned on this thread, never heard of them, but I read as much as I can about coonhounds and go to lots of the big events and love the history and learning about all the breeds and have got to hunt with some of the current 'famous' hounds or meet them in the flesh.

But of 'all time famous', these are the names 'famous' enough that even *I* have heard of them, though may not even know what breed they are for sure, i have heard the names a LOT.

Dan and Ann....they got me interested in hounds though I prefer big black dogs, so got B&T's when i got my hounds

TN Lead

Sackett

Lipper

Tenn Fiddler

Nailor

Northern Rex

Most famous controversial (the way everyone talks about him) hound - Hardrock

Sorry I've not heard of some of the other hounds most here agree are famous in coonhounds. Now I have heard of them! They look like awesome dogs, thanks for all who have pix and are posting them.

this is really sad. most of all dogs mention are back in the past, that means your breeding programs stink.dogs are suppose to be better or the same as the parents right.

WRONG you have got to breed to 30 year old semen and believe the HYPE.

I'll tell you what is sad..Is that you guys who never hunted with some of the real hounds of the past can't realize what is missing.
There are some good hounds out there today no doubt. But, there is large majority of yard dog yapping mouths that tree up everyother bush in the woods coon or no coon. The ability to reach back and bring mouth, track driving ability and accuracy to the front is much needed. This thread is about Most Famous Coonhounds. There are some dogs out there that are famous today, but will they be famous or even remembered 30 years from now. What is sad is that you have both missed the boat. JMO...

Famous names

1) BELLARS PAC man
2) nocturnal NAILOR
3) insane Jane
4) Harry
5) rat attack
6) sackett Jr
7) lipper

These some of the names that stick in my head. Not saying there the best or which is the best. But Jane is the most talked about female for sure, I even get tired of listening bout it, lol.

A better question would be which ones have been the most over-rated.
