Well nothing from UKC. They sure have let us down on this one.
Bottom line is that no matter how it is written , HSUS would not back it if they didn't believe that it would further their agenda.
They don't back nothing without " their " best interests at heart.
I find it pretty hard to believe that the " higher ups " at UKC aren't intelligent enough to know this.
Which leads me to believe that , as with all corruption , there is money involved.
After all , isn't that how it's done.....
You pay off the " top dogs " and let them convince the little guys that " It's not really that bad. It really is a good thing. "

Just all 'round , meat gettin' hounds.
First and foremost I NORMALLY DON’T DO DRAMA but I have got to make some comments . I’m a coonhunter and hunting enthusiasts to the CORE so im on yer side but fellas this is just the beginning. Ive watched em at work for the last 15 years. U think they are just out to get the dog and cock fighters ? Yer deadly mistaken and brainwashed if u do. Every step they have took against cock fighters dog fighters have already been implemented and that’s all sewn up! Anything beyond that is baby steps towards thier agenda to END all hunting and even rodeos for example ! U see, all groups have thier own "click" and dont care about the others when PETA and hsus attack. Cause its not your sport huh ? Your all being fooled... dont even think that they are not coming after you and the sport u love. I seen this coming and its here ! Baby steps to END anything that involves an animal. Accomplishing it overnight ? not a chance !, but they keep movin forward with baby steps. Just Keep siding with your own sport and thinkin they will not bother “us” .....my fellow friends they ARE comin and if ALL groups (farmers & all outdoorsmen and women ) dont band together and fight them TOGETHER Were ALL gonna lose. DO NOT be fooled about the power they have ! If your not a trapper you better stand with the trappers!! . If u just rodeo and dont coonhunt u boys better back the coonhunters. And vise versa. MANY people involved with animal sports have been affected by this already and its comin to the houndsmen now. I have more reading material than your brain can probably contain about these wackos & their agendas against us. U better brush up on your knowledge so u can fight them and be smart about it when u do. I’m not giving them any credit but They aint messing around fellas !! there just moving forward with their baby step goals ! Stay quiet stay idle and think it wont happen - thats EXACTLY way they want you ! Remember , strength is in numbers ! This is all pretty simple and cut and dry for me. why ? Because I really know the truth behind these 2 organizations peta & hsus. How ? Countless hours of researching facts about their true beliefs and goals and even their accomplishments . you know, there are many of you whom have already made TRUE valid points ie> Blackflagginit, Bolden1, Terry Dye. Think about this…… if i agreed to follow these organizations it would most likely be because of 1) I agree with them and want(choose) to be part of all they are doing right ? Yes thats right. OR 2 ) because I am being persuaded by other means ( monetary value, deceived, or blackmail)
These two things will determine your stance in the group or individual u follow and side with no matter who it is. Dont take me out of context Im not saying UKC is being bought or even blackmailed by the ARA( even though im sure they have tried since money $$$$ is their MAIN goal folks – they don’t really LOVE animals, there again if u think so u are being deceived by the hsus and peta ! ) BUT I do know that UKC is not above anyone else in the department of being Deceived . UKC is being put on the spot & caught in the middle there is no doubt about that and so leads us all to wonder why they are siding with the real enemy ? The devil is cunning and slick you can be certain !!
So why do I NOT support these wackos ? I don’t agree with them therefore I don’t support or follow them in ANY.. TINY… LITTLE.. WAY ! You play with snakes and YOU WILL get bit !!! Simple as that ! Someone mentioned another person being an ARA on this forum board – Man you are so right!! ! they are here ! and copying and pasting and gathering every word and piece of information you type to use against you/us when the time comes!.. twisting and looking to stir us so we will argue and fight with each other so that we will be divided. Sadly, a lot of times we are our own worst enemy. My grandma used to have a saying about people/situations – give em enough rope and they will hang themselves. That’s not the case so much with these people! Every time they come on the scene they have to be fought!!!
I do want to say that most of you make a lot of good points and are knowledgeable on the subject and im in agreement with most of you on the topic at hand but without sounding like a smart ellic or know it all ( cause texting and written words can be interpreted wrong so many times) about 90% of you that are arguing the topic of cock fighting laws are pretty much clueless. that being said the “four legged” word in that law in the state of kentucky was put there for a reason - of which I will not expound on so don’t even ask me. On a positive note >These groups CAN be beat !!! but we cant do it being divided and uneducated . They are here guys ! they have been doing some face barking for some time now but trust me the teeth are coming out ! and They need scratched !!
People comparing cock fighters to houndsmen makes me sick to my stomach. ITS NOT THE SAME. I COME FROM A LONG LINE OF HOUNSDMEN AND MY GRANDPA GROWING UP THOUGHT THE ACT WAS BARBARIC & ABSOLUTELY CRUEL. Mentioning fighting birds to the death in the same sentence as free casting a hound is foolish, and whoever thinks theyre the same is rotten.
The Real Truth
Perhaps more than any other interest group in America, the radical animal "rights" organizations have two faces. There's one face they present to the public and (more importantly) to potential donors. Then there's the other face, the true one, which encompasses a philosophy that is more anti-human than pro-animal.
The two largest and best-funded animal "rights" groups, Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), both rely on financial support that often comes from people who have no idea what their real agendas are. In many cases, that support is based on misunderstanding, or even deception.
"If we could shut down all sport hunting in a moment, WE WOULD."
? Wayne Pacelle, Current HSUS President
HSUS has long benefited from the use of the term "humane society." Many erroneously believe HSUS operates animal shelters, rescue groups and other animal welfare operations. Well-meaning people give money, thinking they are assisting the operation of these local and regional organizations that do so much to help animals. However, the truth is HSUS has never operated an animal shelter of any kind. Ever. And PETA employees have actually been arrested, prosecuted and convicted for illegally disposing of animals killed in its "shelter" operations.
The public face of HSUS talks of ending barbaric practices such as dog fighting, but rarely emphasizes its efforts to mandate all dogs be spayed or neutered-which would, of course, shut down hunting dog breeders. Nor does HSUS publicize its work to give pets the same legal status as a husband or wife in domestic abuse cases.
In the area of hunting, HSUS claims to oppose only "the most egregious forms of hunting." The problem is, they find all hunting egregious. In state after state, HSUS has opposed hunting of all sorts: Dove hunting (the most commonly hunted gamebird in America), bear hunting, cougar hunting, varmint hunting and more. They oppose these hunts regardless of the sound conservation science that supports them. They continually press for "alternatives" to hunting, such as the wildly expensive (and proven ineffective) use of contraceptives to control exploding deer populations.
HSUS has also opposed NRA's successful efforts to lower the hunting age in many states, arguing: "At a time when youth violence is a nationwide epidemic and our children already face many threats every day, we should not put them in more danger or teach them that killing defenseless animals is wholesome entertainment." Of course, the charge is baseless; studies have shown youth who are taught to hunt and respect firearms and wildlife are less likely to become engaged in criminal activity, and hunting is safer than a host of activities that kids regularly engage in, such as swimming, football and bicycling.
Finally, HSUS always opposes lifting the restriction that 10 states have on Sunday hunting. HSUS fails, however, to explain how hunting on Sunday is "egregious"-no doubt because it would just as soon ban hunting on the other six days.
Another area where HSUS has been very active is "canned hunting." HSUS uses this term just as the anti-gun movement uses the term "assault weapon," to divide opponents and win passage of a broader ban. But, as usual when it comes to legislation, the devil is most definitely in the details. In one case, HSUS pressed hard for legislation that defined so-called "canned hunting" as hunting within any "man-made enclosure, regardless of the size." A five-acre parcel of land would be treated the same as a 20,000-acre piece. Of course, HSUS hoped lawmakers would miss the point as they talked of "killers shooting animals in cages."
In 2005, HSUS entered into an alliance with the equally radical Fund for Animals, forming a litigation group to use the courts to interfere with or end legal hunts. They have used this group to bring lawsuits in states like Maine, Wisconsin, Maryland and New Jersey, and to challenge hunting on federal wildlife refuges. Their lawyers abuse federal law by ignoring congressional intent. In their minds, the end always justifies the means.
HSUS has also begun an effort to take land out of the reach of hunters through the "Wildlife Land Trust"-a novel take on the conservation easements used by many landowners to save on taxes while preserving wildlife habitat from development. In HSUS's bizarre twist, the group encourages people to set their land aside as a part of the trust, but only if the landowner forbids hunting. HSUS doesn't explain how it intends to manage animal populations on these lands, or how it will deal with the inevitable catastrophe when populations of deer or other creatures overwhelm the habitat. Apparently, these are not HSUS's concerns. HSUS is working to gain tax benefits for these lands (similar to current types of conservation easements), which means we would all pay to move HSUS's anti-hunting agenda forward. This program is in its infancy, with less than a million acres signed up, but potential donors need to learn about HSUS's radical agenda and the repercussions of ignoring sound conservation science.
One of the hallmarks of HSUS is hypocrisy-from the deftly hidden agenda that claims opposition to only some hunting while working to end all, to the refusal to acknowledge the radical agenda's consequences for animal welfare. Overpopulation of animal species will occur if there is no control. For example, HSUS opposes cougar hunting in California, but the growth in cougar numbers has meant more human-cougar encounters and attacks and a growing need for state officials to kill the big cats. There might not be cougar hunting in California, but there are still cougars being killed.
Likewise, as you read this, there are national parks in three states with dangerously large elk populations. These herds are not dangerous to man, but are certainly dangerous to the ecologies of the parks and to the elk herds themselves. Hunting is recognized as the best way to control these herds at sustainable and healthy levels, but HSUS opposes establishing hunts within the parks. The impact of overpopulation, including animals dying of starvation and the catastrophic impact that the depletion of food supplies has on other species such as song birds, seems to indicate that HSUS is more opposed to hunting than it is concerned for the welfare of animals.
Over the past three years, a debate has raged in Congress over the fate of the Roosevelt elk and Kaibab mule deer herds living on Santa Rosa Island off California's coast for more than a century. Both are subspecies with limited numbers on the mainland, yet environmental bureaucrats and their congressional allies want these animals exterminated. NRA has worked tirelessly to stop the complete destruction of these animals and HSUS has done nothing to save them. Once again, by all indications, HSUS would rather see all the animals needlessly destroyed than allow the hunting of a few as a management tool.
HSUS and PETA are serious threats to our hunting heritage precisely because they have learned from our successes and their failures. They are better organized and better funded than they were 20 years ago. They are more careful in how they present their agenda and they are actively working to divide the hunting community into factions they can turn against one another. As with the anti-gun community, each victory fuels the fundraising machine and sets the stage for the next attack. For hunting to survive, we must remain united against these extremists, and ensure that our friends and families know their true agenda.
PETA, The Pop Stars Of Animal "Rights" Radicalism
It is tempting to dismiss the other large animal "rights" group, PETA, the same way most adult Americans dismiss misbehaving Hollywood starlets. The problem is, many of our kids don't dismiss those miscreants-and PETA works hard to get its message out to the same people who care what Paris, Nicole, Britney and Lindsay are doing.
While embracing many of the same positions as HSUS, PETA has always taken a different path. It targets the glamorous world of Hollywood, cultivating celebrity spokesmen and women and focusing on the publicity that protests, boycotts and other such publicity-seeking stunts will generate. (Gaining news coverage by displaying naked or nearly naked young women in cages is a typical tactic.) PETA doesn't spend the time, effort and money HSUS does in the courtroom or the hearing room, but the threat they pose is real nonetheless, because their prime targets are our children.
PETA has gone to great lengths to indoctrinate kids and young adults by creating materials, including comic books and videos, that teach its radical agenda, and then getting sympathetic teachers to use those materials in the classroom. One of PETA's comic books proclaims on the cover, "Your Daddy Kills Animals!" and warns kids to keep the family dog away from him. Why? Because dad is a fisherman.
PETA's PR machine is relentless. PETA selects a "vegetarian of the year" from among notable celebrities and presents that person as a role model for children. Each year it attacks restaurant chains that serve meat, circuses that have animal acts and, of course, any pharmaceutical company that uses animals to develop life saving medicines.
And of course, PETA opposes all hunting. It describes hunting as "cruel and unnecessary" and presses for the same ineffective "alternatives" as HSUS, including sterilizing the deer population. PETA also recommends interfering with legal hunts, calling on activists to "protest organized hunts, and spread deer repellent or human hair (from barber shops) near hunting areas."
With a multi-million dollar budget, and the willing support of celebrity vegans who want to force their lifestyle on everyone, PETA represents the pop-culture side of the animal "rights" movement. We should all take care that PETA's message is not spoon fed to our kids when we are not watching.
this is why they are our enemies they freely chose to be our enemies, so no quarter should be asked and none given.

FACTS = Knowledge
Taking the “Human” out of “Humane”
CenterforConsumerFreedom
We took a look last week at some details of the 2008 tax return filed by the deceptive Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). The filing shows that HSUS paid out less than one-half of one percent of its $99 million budget to hands-on dog and cat shelters. Meanwhile, a large portion of the kitty – tens of millions of dollars – went to employee salaries and animal rights lobbying. And all this expensive chicken-hugging has a hidden price. To find it, try visiting your local unemployment office.
In 2008 HSUS spent more than $2.3 million on a political committee called “Californians for Humane Farms,” which campaigned for the “Proposition 2” ballot initiative in the Golden State. In 2007, it gave over $1.3 million. HSUS also made donations of $200,000 in 2007 and 2008 to the “Committee to Protect Dogs,” a Massachusetts organization that pushed for a statewide ban on greyhound racing with the “Question 3” ballot initiative.
Both ballot campaigns were successful. And both had human costs. In California, a UC Davis study estimated that Prop 2 would destroy the state’s egg industry by adding 20 percent to the cost of egg production and causing companies to move to other states or to Mexico. In real numbers, the study found, Prop 2 was expected to cost more than 3,000 jobs and take more than $615 million out of the state’s already precarious economy. In Massachusetts, 1,000 people were expected to lose their jobs after the racing ban took effect last week. We love dogs too, but when people lose their jobs, who’s going to buy them kibble and flea collars?
All told, HSUS’s leaders spent more than $4.1 million on two political battles, and put an estimated 4,000 workers out of business. And that doesn’t include similar political “committees” HSUS has bankrolled in Michigan, Colorado, and Arizona. Who knows how many jobs HSUS will kill this year in Ohio alone?
Sure, HSUS claims it does everything “for the animals.” But what about people? How many American workers and their families are left unemployed in the wake of animal rights campaigns? And why doesn’t HSUS put a serious amount of money into pet shelters, where animals can be helped and jobs created?
There are human costs to HSUS’s crusades. But when cows and pigs are all you care about, people can get lost in the shuffle. Today’s overfed animal activists are clearly willing to put Americans in the bread line. Just don’t expect any chicken soup when you get there.

Story Exposing HSUS Buried: Read Transcript
An ABC-TV affiliate in Atlanta aired an Investigative Report on where the Humane Society of the United States spends its money. Twenty four hours later, the story was pulled from the air. I wasn’t able to locate it in their archives either, even though there were older investigative stories still there. I spoke with Mark Winne of Channel 2 and was told that it is routine to take down this type of news report, however he was less specific when asked why it wasn’t saved in their archives. A copy of the video played on YouTube for one day then mysteriously disappeared from that site as well.
PetPAC posted, on our site, the written transcript you see below, sent to us by several of our supporters.
Friday morning PetPAC received an email from an attorney representing WSB-TV ordering us to remove the written word from public view. I have to conclude, as others have already, that this demand has been triggered by some powerful action to squelch the story.
Since HSUS has not come out publicly to protest the facts contained in this story, nor has WSB-TV issued any form of retraction I think it logical to assume the story has to be substantially true and accurate.
So much for freedom of the press and the First Amendment to the Constitution. Since those of us in PetPAC do not want to upset TV broadcasters, we have not made any further attempts to get copies of the video story. However, the transcript sent to us from others, not taken from the station website, unsubstantiated as it is reprinted below.
Where Humane Society Donations Really Go
ATLANTA -- A Channel 2 investigation is looking into millions of dollars in donations given to the Humane Society of the United States.
A national consumer organization says the society solicits pet-lovers for money, but little to none of that money ever goes to help local shelters.
Critics tell Channel 2 Action News reporter Amanda Rosseter that this isn’t just consumers misunderstanding who they are giving in to – but an organization actively misleading donors to get money.
“They do their marketing very well, that's for sure,” said Trey Burley of PAWS Atlanta.
Critics say the national organization takes advantage of people who think they are giving to local shelters. DeKalb's "PAWS" shelter says there is no regular funding help from the $100 million HSUS budget.
“I think that some of the folks who donate to the national organization may be under the false pretense that that money is going to a local cause,” said Burley.
While the HSUS does work to stop puppy mills, it also gets media coverage and donations doing it; but the puppies then go to local shelters who have to pay and care for them.
“They may initialize the resources for a rescue, but again the animals go to a shelter somewhere in the country,” said Richard Rice, VP of the Atlanta Humane Society.
Critics say HSUS also takes advantage of high-profile events. After hurricane Katrina, HSUS CEO Wayne Pacelle promised on national TV to reunite pets with their owners—and raised $34 million for the cause; but public disclosures of where that money went add up to less than $7 million.
The Louisiana attorney general launched an 18-month-long investigation, and it then ended it when HSUS offered to build the state a new shelter.
The HSUS annual report for 2007 showed $120 million in revenue, including $5.4 million just from online donors.
Then there's $112 million in expenses -- most of which appears to have gone to legislation for animal rights bills. The list includes raccoons, mice, wild horses, burros and primates.
The center for consumer freedom says all worthy causes, but HSUS shouldn't mislead to get money.
So where does all the money go?
“It goes to lobbying, it goes to political contributions, it does go to pay huge staff salaries and benefits," said David Marposko with Center for Consumer Freedom.
Channel 2 Action News went to a local HSUS meeting to find out. The two hour discussion was about activist plans and lobbying. The Georgia director for the HSUS agrees that’s mostly what she does.
“I think that in all of our literature, it is very explicit as to what our campaigns are and what we are doing,” said Cheryl McAuliffe, Georgia Director for HSUS. “We help where we can and focus on our programs, which are national and international.”
McAuliffe said there are just too many local shelters to help.
“I always tell people, contribute to your local shelter first,” said McAuliffe.
When asked how much her budget is for the state of Georgia, McAuliffe said she didn’t have a budget and neither did the other states. McAuliffe said all money is controlled from headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Everyone has rights. Am I wrong?
Some folks like fighting dogs, some like fighting chickens, some like bull fights, some like dog racing, some like water racing dogs, some like rabbit races, some like coonhunting, some like lion hunting, some like bear hunting, some like hog hunting, some like deer hunting, some like turkey hunting and some bird hunting with dogs.
My point is everybody has a hobby. Some even make a living or provide food for there family by being involved in differant ways.
If you don't a like doing any of the above, thats your right. Myself, not everything on the list above is for me but I find entertainment in most and I don't want anybody telling me what I can or can't enjoy!!!!!!!

I can tell y'all just because someone has bird dogs doesn't mean they stand beside hounds man. Two completely different groups an causes I could see bird hunters sacrificing houndsman to keep themselves out if the cross hairs.
