There is also a good male up this way in Ohio out of Dutch. I am not sure if it's out of Holly or not.

I have hunted with Bill and Ole Dutch both TOP NOTCH. Dutch has produced good ones. I know cause i owned one.

Thanks for the nice comment guys!! I got a report of a pup from Dutch/Dixie cross, was running loose a couple weeks ago, treed a possum and stayed treed till he went after him, not bad for a 3 1/2 month old pup.

Mike I appreciate it buddy!!! I have owned and hunted with several and Ol'Gus is right up there as one of my favorites!! Hope you doin good, hope to hunt with you guys this fall!

We're Back!

Thanks everyone for all the nice thoughts, and comments! I appreciate the calls, and messages!! I never set out to be a (Breeder) I have always enjoyed coonhunting, and Blueticks, I have had a few real good dogs, and some not so good! Lol! I have had some out of the top studs, and some from the unknown....... I have never really promoted Dutch, because, my priorities has been my family, and running the hunts, and all, was never a priority to me, fun though.... Dutch is a good dog, and from good dogs, Mr. Jack Smith is a fantastic man, and a good friend, and I owe my dogs to him.... Thanks again everyone, if I can help, just let me know, Dutch is fat and old like me now. But still acts like a pup! Thanks!!

If all goes well, my Jane female, The mother of Gr Nite Ch Pr. Misty Mtn Lethal Blue Buck and Dodge Collins Smokey dog will be bred to Dutch, hopefully sometime in February.
My Moonie female is outta Dutch. Beautiful and tough. 2 year old.

I wanted to say Thank You Again to all that’s called, or messaged me about Dutch being on the reproducer list...

Wanted to answers a few questions that have been asked....

Mr. Jack Smith gave me Dutch as a pup, I did not buy him as a finished dog, so Dutch made a Coon dog in spite of my lack of ability to train. Lol! There is things that everyone likes, or dislikes in dogs, I guess you could say that a lot of faults or whatever Dutch has....I made..... I like a dog to handle,lead, load, and act like it has a brain, Dutch handles without a leash, he listens better than most kids, hunts good, but does not put you in a different zip code every time he’s turned loose. Trees coon, not trees.... trees solid, and will stay as long as it takes, but does not tree 120 barks a minute.... Dutch has his own mind,and will do his own thing, but will try his best to get most, of whatever another dog has too... Good with other dogs, kids, and people, could easily be a house dog, but I’m not to big on dogs in the house...

I did not set out to make the reproducer list, I did not find a cross that clicked and made it several times, I did not competition hunt all of his pups, or have others too, I made two crosses on him myself, did not have a bunch of my own females... I am truly honored to have been a part of this , and Thanks Again to all those who have contributed.

There is supposed to be a couple females bred to Dutch when they come in, and if I can help someone, I will try my best.

Thanks for posting, Dave!! Pebbles was one of the many that died, or got killed, that was good ones from Dutch.. I wish the 14 that only needed places to be Nt Ch would have lived, and finished.

Hope you and your family had a nice Christmas and have a Happy New Year. The first time I heard about Dutch was from Herbie Hicks down in Kentucky. He told me he bred to Dutch for his ability and what a nice clean tree dog he was. After also owning a few Tramp dogs I know just what he was talking about. I know Jack Smith owned one out of Dutch and Hammerhead he sure liked from a cross you made years ago. I had a call from a fellow a couple of weeks ago and told him to contact you on breeding to Dutch and hopefully he did. Congratulations to both you and Dutch on making the reproducers list!

Dutch has been a fantastic dog, he has never been given the opportunity he deserves, because he’s mine...
I have owned many dogs in my life, some out of the best of the best!! And what I’ve seen out of Dutch, they are just as good or better, than the big name dogs.

Dutch didn’t get bred to a lot of times, because he’s not a Grand Night, it’s just the way it is.
I’m not in to selling pups, I am likely to give more pups away, than to try and sell them.
I try to be as good to people, as I can, and that’s just the way I am, to each they’re own, Hunt what ya want, and breed what ya want.
There has been a couple guys contact me about breeding, didn’t mention talking with you,I really do appreciate you mentioning Dutch. One guy was thinking about breeding and chose a different stud, so......

Talked with two guys with pups out out Dutch last litter, I’m thinking they about 9-10 months old now, one pup, got loose and treed a coon, Christmas night, and he had to go get him at 4:00 in the morning, took him hunting by himself, and he treed another coon. Not to bad, considering the weather! A mate to him has been treeing with dogs, for a couple months....This is the Dutch X Dixie cross.

On a side note, David D, and Scott V the cross from Dutch and Hammerhead was a pretty good one, that ended in disaster, a male and two females, just lacked a 5th or better to make Nt Ch, and Mr. Jacks NtCh Gin female, were all killed on the road.
