Just got back from Birmingham Alabama. I seen several coons but let me tell you the guys down there have some pretty tough hunting. I don't feel I could hunt that area very much or I would have to pack it up and retire. I'm sure there is some good hunting down there but I never seen it. Must be the old age thing! LOL!

it was great visiting with you yesterday. im studying on things and will get back with you. you should plan on making the zone 1 hunt in Marshall, Mo. this summer. i had lots of fun there last year and they have the coon.

Terry we will need all the luck we can get. Tried telling the boy I only have so many vacation days and still want to make the fall roundup this year so have to keep a few days on the back burner! Not only that, money does not grow on trees anymore!

Went for a hunt last night with a couple guys in central Ill. and had a good hunt and got to see some good dog work. The steam coming off the ground caused the tracking I feel to be a little tougher than normal but the bottom line was they had coons at the end. Mark and Ron Pruemer sure has some good hunting and had a blast hunting with those two last night, they do know this old man still has good hearing right Corey?

Roy we have started turning out a few too Hanna and hope it will click over in doing so. First one we let get across a field and into the woods, turned her loose and she took off after it and hit the woods but only made one bark as it did not go very far in the woods before climbing. It won't take many I don't think as she is high octane! Right at 4.5 months so it is about time! LOL!

Terry her is a picture of Smoke treed before the rain set it the other night. He had a kitten treed it was the first one we had treed this year by itself.

Terry he is one of those off color Blue dogs! LOL! Very intense at the tree but he will set at the base if allowed too, will get up on the tree if needed!! I did think about calling him Angle!

We went for a short hunt with smoke and riptide. 1st dump ran a short track and treed in the ground . 2nd dump ran a track about 800 yards and treed a den tree.

Here is a short video of them treed but they was getting hot by the time we got there.

Smoke picked up a 2nd place tonight in Kentucky at the hunt and also got best of breed/ class/ show tonight also. And he's been looking good.

Now Max when you hunt and have to get up at 4:00 each morning it get tough when you get my age! Young dogs keep your blood a moving and keep things interesting! LOL!

Well Corey finish Smoke tonight to Nt. CH. and only lacks 5 pts. of making a CH. on the bench as well. Smoke looked good tonight!Two first strikes and two first trees with coons seen and one being a split tree by himself. He then had a first strike and a second tree on the third coon. Drew a few minus points but did still end up with 500 plus points for the cast win. Not too bad for only having him three weeks.

Took a short hunt tonight with Smoke and Riptide and first dump they went about 550 yards and hit and ran another 300 plus and treed with the meat. It was still 80 at the time they treed so we called it a night. Tide has not been hunted very much lately and did not want him to overheat. I know I was hotter than they were! Corey did not argue to turn loose again either!

Terry we just got home at 5:00am. No cigar but Smoke did not let us down. Looked pretty good for a young hound hunting against some of the best in the state. We did hunt the double header.

Well we took Riptide and Smoke tonight for two dumps. Treed twice and seen kittens in both trees. We also seen kittens cross the road tonight and when we stopped they just keep eating the goodies along the road! Nice big berries! They got a little hot but they sure did a good job!
