Hunt

Thanks Matt. When I started back hunting 2 1/2 yrs ago I didn't think it would be this hard to find a blue dog that I could be happy with. Man I was wrong. This has been a process that I figured I would have to go thru but feel good now with where I am at now. BB has done good but has some correctable problems that I will be working on over the next few weeks. Cotton is primed and ready to hit the hunts as well. Gonna get Drake to hunt one of them for me. Just need a 4th place or better to NtCh BB now. Hope to get that one soon. Darren

Male

Picked up a littermate brother to Cotton yesterday for Drake. He is coming 2 and was hunted 8 times when he was about 14 mths old. Hope he will come around. He is a good looking hound with a good mouth. Time will tell and if he is anything like his sister Cotton , he will be ok. Keep'em lookin up!! Darren

Pr Frost Hollow Blue Bell (BB)

BB has been getting the job done. She has won a 1st at Reform last week and a 2nd at Cullman this week. One more cast win should NtCh her. Gone start on Cotton soon. BB is co-owned with Terry Tibbs. May raise a litter of pups if I can find the right male to compliment her and her pedigree. I should get her papers in the mail soon and will post her PED. She is Treeslamming Hillbilly and Jet bred. Hunt

Hunted last night with full moon. BB and Drakes new dog Twister out of Logan struck in about 200 yds. Ran track about 200 more and went in underground spring. Dug him out and ran him up in hills , went in ground again. Caught them up. Twister has got a big bawl mouth and can drive a track so we will see. Turned Cotton alone at 10 o'clock. Struck at about 275 yds. Worked a track for about 250 yds and slammed tree. Had coon. Called it quits. Full moon , coons not stirring. Keep 'em looking up. Darren

Gone try it tonight and see what I can get done. Thinking about going to Empire, Al to a UKC hunt Saturday nite. Need a 4th place or better to NtCh BB. Maybe I can make it and see what happens.

HUNT

Went for a while last night. took my nephew with our Rickett hound out of Raggs and Drake took Twister, his new dog that is a brother to Cotton. Twister has only been hunted a handful of times his whole life so we took a chance on him. I took Cotton and BB. Turned out Cotton and BB first. BB struck in about 200yds followed by Cotton. They worked the track down bottom about 250 more yds and Cotton loaded up treed followed closely by BB. We got to the tree and it was a den but the coons tail was hanging out of the hole. Gathered them up and turned out BB, Rickett, and Twister. Rickett struck and BB followed. Twister soon opened and they worked and old bad track up in the hills. Things came to a standstill for a few minutes and Rickett opened hot. He changed tracks and soon was in ground, followed bu BB. The tritronics sent a message to BB not to be barking in the ground and Rickett soon followed. Ended up just catching them up and they were a little shook up and didnt hunt out too good after that lesson. attached a video of BB and Cotton on first tree. Goin again tonite!! Keep'em Lookin UP!! yea went to a pkc hunt wed night got bet by a dog that got some of my tree and another dogs tree,rocky jus couldnt find another one before the hunt was over. mike took him last night for a drop and he crossed a big creek they drove around and he was on a big den tree. got a pkc hunt tonight and mike is going to take him to empire fri. i hope.then sat im takin him to double springs to a acha hunt

Hunt

Went for a couple drops last night. First drop turned Cotton alone and she left out hard in the creek bottom. She got about 500 yds in a hurry and struck a track. Drake and I drove around and Cotton was trailing in bottom but wasn't long til she loaded up treed. We got to her and she was on two huge trees growing together. They were leafy and viney and with the undergrowth we just couldnt even find a place to see the tree well. We finally gave up and went to truck. I beleive she had it because she was hammering the tree and she has been deadly accurate up to this point. Next drop turned BB alone. She didn't act exactly right but left out good. After just a few minutes she came slinking back in by us. I leashed her up and recut her. She left out again and hunted fair but was not her usual self. Heard some Dillars messing around just out in front of us and BB got the full effects of the Tritronics for treeing in the ground on Weds. night so she wasn't too keen about mixing it up with those dillars last night. Drake then realized he had lost his phone so we spent the rest of the night hunting up his phone. Finally found it where he had gotten out to open a gate. Taking off tonight and headed to Empire Saturday night to a UKC hunt. Good Luck to all Bluetickers this weekend and this week. Keep'em Lookin Up! Darren

going to empire tonight i guess.going to a acha hunt in double springs sat. got rocky back in the top 16 in the breed last night. put 2 cast wins on him this week almost won at suligent tues. got beat by a dog that covered me and another dog with a coon,o well. looks like rocky will be going to the pkc world hunt now. sure do miss a good pleasure hunt tho.

Hunt

Well got beat last night. Drew 2 walkers. 1st drop I took 3rd strike and first tree, all dogs treed. Get to tree BB and male TW were on large leafy tree and TW gyp was on a tree split. Couldn't see my tree very well and had to circle. Go to TW gyps tree, small tree coon in very top. She gets 225 +. Next drop I have 2nd strike and 1st tree. All dogs tree and coon seen. I got 200+ , TW male has 125+, TW gyp has 375+. Turn out again I get 2nd strike and 1st tree. Den circle up. Next drop I get 1st and 1st , huge leafy tree circle up again. Last turn out I get 1st strike and BB gets alone but is in huge cutover trailing when hunt runs out. Catch her up. Oh well we try again fri. night. Keep'em Lookin Up!! Darren
