Thanks Daniel, Lumber is part of my future breeding and I hope Sounder and Magic get a chance to prove themselves in the pen. If Maggie keeps going they will get their chance at some point.

Going to the Smoky Mountain and hunt and also site see a bit. Jr Watson and I will have some fun.
Birthday is Oct 12 th so I will have a fun days to myself before my dogs get their fun.

48 isn't so bad now that I'm in decent shape and have more energy to dance and hunt more. Loosing 65 lbs sure make a difference on a fella. Did it in 3 month doing P90X program and I can say it works.
Seeing the great Smoky Mountains and hanging with friends will be a treat. My stay a night in Nashville and see if I can dance a little.

I hunted with Jr and Daniel Watson and Tony Greene. We treed some coons and that Speed dog of Jr's is the real deal.

Got a little wet one night but it was worth it. Lots of mountains and tons of fun.

Hunted last night

Ole Boomer made Maggie look bad and Spud. He treed two coons on them while they where off racing. They ended in a dozer pile. Saw 8 coons feeding by a barn.

Hope the next hunt goes better

My daughter that I'm very proud of

She graduates in May

She ran a half marathon at 7 am I got up at 4 am to drive to KC to see her run and finsh. We had a great day hanging out together.

Coon season is coming in soon. Nov 15 th hope I can get a lot of hunting in to finish Maggie into what I hope will be a top hound.

Headed to Iowa the first weekend to get a few down on her there.

Took Maggie on a solo tonight

She did great! She didn't get any coons treed but she caught two on the ground. Made 8 barks 400 yards in and caught one and then I sent her in a cornfield and she caught another. So hopefully that will help her confidence alone.

If anyone wants to see Sounder and Magic go come on over

Season will be in after Nov 14 so I will be hitting the woods training on Maggie and may even give Lumber a time or two in the timber.
Sounder and Magic have been solid coondogs in all weather. I look forward to the moonlite nites with plenty frost and snow. Seems to be no problem for these two hounds.
Not breed anything to either one so I have no idea what they will produce. All I know is they came from a good line of dogs that I have hunted with or owned and if given a chance I think people will be happy seeing coons in trees.

Weather is changing and leaves are falling off. Pretty soon either the coon is there or he is not. No excuses. Breed to dogs that tree real live coons in all kinds of weather. A dogs needs to know how to find a coon before it can every get it up the bush. Straight line hunters are not for me. Hunt the woods out and go deep as needed to get bushed. What amazes me is when people say there are no coons in the area and you cut a coondog loose and tree 4 or 5 and then they say well they may have moved back in. Having a dog that knows how to look for a coon makes a big difference in my opinion either layed up or cold feed track. Of course he cant take all night to tree a cold feed coon. He needs to drift and get it up and going and bang stay till you get there with the meat. I'm just talking. I've had the oppurtunity to enjoy some real coondogs out of this line of dogs and I can only hope I add the right stuff to keep it going.
Get a little Breathless Blue in some blood and tell me what you think. I bet your percentage of treeing coons goes way up. And you wont have to strain your ears to hear them in a cast or a distance.

Loving the cooler weather

Dogs are fat and ready for this winter coon seaon. Midnight on the 14th the I will be in the timber. Tradition for me. Always get into coons for sure.
