Perry I shared a few laughs with Todd yesterday. My son went hunting with me last night. He sure liked the Spit/Sage pup. I was gonna get him to snap a pic and send to you, but kind of forgot after that mile walk to the tree. It was real windy last night as the temps dropped and hard to hear them. It was a den tree, but both dogs stay treed for a good while. Never was a bark on track that I could hear, I guess they just fell treed about 2 miles from where I turned loose. I tripped and fell down and rolled upside down on my head in a hole. Felt kind of dumb and old trying to get upright and back on my feet. No injuries, so everything is good this morning.

YOU GOTTA WATCH IT OUT THERE. THAT YOUNG GUY BEIN LOST IN ALABAMA WAS A WAKE UP CALL AND SURE MAKES YOU THINK. I LIKE THE MACHO DUDES THAT SAY "WELL, IF I DIE OUT THERE, SO BE IT". I'LL BET THEY AREN'T THINKIN THAT WHEN STUCK DOWN IN SOME HOLE SOMEWHERE. THAT WOULD BE THE WORST. I TRY TO KEEP MY PHONE ON ME NOW IN THE WOODS AND MAY EVEN PUT TOGETHER THE LITTLE SURVIVAL PACK TO CARRY. I KNOW WE ALL GOTTA GO SOMETIME AND IT'S GETTIN CLOSER EVERY DAY, BUT I CAN THINK OF ALOT BETTER WAYS THAN HYPOTHERMIA AND EXPOSURE, WITH BROKE BONES THROWN IN FOR SHEAR AGONY RIGHT TO THE END. I sure was happy that hunter made it home alive. I guess I have been lucky all the times I've hunted by myself over the years. Those things can happen to anybody. My buddy and I was out one night and had to fish his dog out of an abandoned well a couple years ago. He didn't like my first thoughts of what to do about his dog. I got the dog out........his eyes were bugged out of his head, but he went on to make a good dog.

Dan Downing came down to my neck of the woods for the weekend. I have a coworker who has a 6 year old son I've been tryin to get to the woods. Saturday night we were able to make it happen and we hunted Dual Ch Bocephus and Dual GrCh Patch for him to see and hear. He was a little shy at first, and even as we were walking to tree. I'm guessing that the text I received at 11:30 from his dad asking how we were still doing, was because his son still wasn't to bed for he was telling his Dad plenty of bedtime stories....

I'm pretty exctied about getting this picture, it was a night that will stick out in my mind for a very long time. I think Cael is going to have a coon dog someday.

Perry....

Sticker is really coming on strong! She has been splitting with coon these past few days. Unfortunately, she climbed two trees last night. The first one she was about 10 feet high and fell onto a fence. The second one, she was about 45 ft. up into the tree and forced the coon out. Boom!.....out she came, and fell onto some shrubs under the tree, luckily or she'd be dead. Her and Ike took off after the coon and treed it about 400 yards away. With the windstorms we had this past summer, there are alot of opportunities for dogs to climb. Do you have any advice on what to do? We'd hate to lose her!

Yes, we tie them at the tree. Good idea about the nails. We'll try that!

I am going to be at a Musical my daughter is in on Friday night, and I work during the day, so Saturday or Sunday anytime is better. Let me know what you want to do.
