It sure is tough......Yote poison has no friends, and that's what he thinks the pup got into.....From what I was told, he was a really special pup......and a very tough loss for his family......it's just sad.....

gosh.........Can I catch a break ??? It's been a tough last month for me and the family....

I found out that the light colored Pups are an Old Color of Bloodhound called "Badger Colored"

Hi all,

I have been pretty busy the last few days with puppy training. All the pups are looking pretty good. The conservancy is keeping 4 and selling 3.

The Mara is beautiful right now. No more Wildebeast so it seems very empty but lots of elephants, giraffe, antelope, buffalo and ostrich have moved back in to the park. Its lush and green form all the rains.

I have been driving between Serana camp and the outpost everyday. About a one hour drive. Its so nice to take my time and just enjoy the animals and the view. Toady I saw a heard of ostriches. Its mating season for these birds so the males are bright pink in the neck and legs and chasing the females everywhere.

Lots of rain lately. Almost every night. Very cool and wet here.

The poachers have been unusually busy dispite the drop in the numbers of wildebeast. Rangers have caught at least 10 in the last 3 days. 6 of the 10 where caught by the dog. Nothing to excting to report for now.

I have sent the link to most of you for the pics and video so if you want to veiw updates just check the link once in awhile. For thoughs of you that didn't get it here is is one more time.

Small Up Date on the African Pups

Hello all,

Been pretty busy around here lately. The pups are getting bigger and
running further so it takes up most of the day to train. I get about 2
hours in the afternoon for myself. Thats fine. I keeps me busy. We are
a little short on staff so I do some of my own laundry by hand. That
takes some real time and gives me a great appreciation for those
around here that do it all the time.

We are all sharing kitchen duty while the cook is off for 10 days.
That should be interesting since I don't know how to use a charcoal
oven at all. Might just roast marshmellows and hope for a good review.
LOL

Sunday there was a leopard caught in a trap that was meant for a
problem Lion so we went to release it. I posted pics of the release on
the photo gallery and facebook. We had a beautiful picnic on the side
of the mountain overlooking the park after that. I was sick but still
enjoyed the lunch area. There was a man attacked by a Lion on the
Narok side Sunday about 10 miles (I think) from here. I don't know if
he died or not ,haven't heard.

I was out for a a drive with the Hyena research team yesterday and one
of the guys told us there was an impala in a tree not far from the
hyena den. About that time one of the park rangers came over to get us
and we went over to take a look. A beautiful Leopard was in the tree
with 2 kills. It was a very rare oppertunity to see this animal.
Sighting are rare but to have 2 kills with it was very luck. We sat
with it for almost an hour watching and taking some pics and video
which I have uploaded.

Today was a range day for the rangers and yes that includes rifle and
bow and arrow practice. We watched that for awhile too. Very
interesting. They shot the bow very quickly. They have to be able to
hit a charging target with both rifle and bow. What i saw with the
bows needed some work. LOL. but it was fun to watch and the men where
having fun showing off for the video.

Tonight camp will be quite. Wiliiam and I are the only ones here for
a few days. We are headed out to try and find the leopard again tonight.

its high tick season so I hope I dont get sick.

I will post it when I can. Its difficult to upload video. Very slow so
enjoy the leopard for now.

ready for John to be here. Its getting to be exhausting work.

That's okay Steve. I got it and will take care of it for Robert. So excited I feel much better today and plugged in my coon light so I can go hunting this evening. I was so sick last week I had to stay home and just hear the details.

The Coons are coming into the Pond and eating some of the Winter Kill Fish that are in the Ice so the Hounds have been going Nuts each morn when I let them out ..

I think I need to Airiate My pond durring the Winter or theirs just too many Fish in it .. I lost 2-3 really nice Channel Cats 30"ones and a whole lot of my Hybred Bluegills ..

Well these Crosses Are Working Very Well !! its Helping the Bloodhounds with Fresh Genetics and and Incressed Drive while adding much Needed Nose/Handling to the Other Breeds were working With ..

Steve........you better do a puppy head count pal......My girls were doing a ton of giggling in the back of the truck yesterday while we were driving home !! LOL !!!

It was hard to get pics of the little monsters unless the girls were holding them...... Those pups were EVERYWHERE.......noses up and noses down. and with a purpose. They're gonna be some hunters buddy, that's for darn sure..... REALLY nice litter !!!

Thanks for letting the entire Miller Klan stop by.....

Oh, BTW.....I'm trying to convince the wife to add one more
