Ya know what happened to him? I'd like to try and track the members of that litter down and see where they're all at.

A kid from Orange City Iowa got him and ruined him. He paid me to hunt him for 30 days 2 winters ago and he wasn't the same dog as when I had him. Beat, starved, hunted with junk etc. etc. From what I've been told, the kid is sitting in jail right now. I've long since deleted his number out of my phone. PM me if you'd like his name. I called the dog Johnny Cash.

Snowed in here too. Worse yet, too cold to hunt. Can't wait for some 20's to cut a dog loose. Talked to moonshiner quite a bit last night. Sounds like he has a good cross in mind. Looking forward to spring. I have had to lay Cowboy up quite a bit this fall. He seems to have some nerve damage from when he had coonhound paralysis. After a hard night of hunting, a few days later he gets bad back spasms. Bad like he seems to be in so much pain that I feel the need to put him down to end his suffering. But then a few hours later he gets over it and won't get them again until after a night of very hard hunting. Problem is, if he gets after a hard going coon in a slough I can't stop him from hunting hard. I swear that dog would hunt himself to death if I let him. Tucker is at the house right now and looking great. At 13 and 3/4s he has more energy than a lot of young dogs. He bounces and prances all over the house.

I hunted last night, Edge went in about 600 yards if my memory serves me right by the Garmin, got treed and had a coon. He's got the right feet to hunt thru this snow and the cold trailin nose to boot. When he's firing on all 8 cylinders he sure is fun to follow.

It wasn't my Garmin we were using last night, it was either 600 or 800 yards I'm not sure. Don't wanna lie....

gudg- it doesn't matter if it was 6 or 6000 yards- if you and your dog looked at a coon or even a den last night- you out did 99.9% of the rest of us!

I see that I didn't mention that I was hunting with a friend and his female. They did really nice together, and I was pretty surprised by the fact we were able to knock one out to them. I was just happy to go hunting and especially be able to hunt a big section of timber. Due to recent work schedule changes, I'm not sure how much hunting I'm gonna be able to do at least for 2010.

Good to hear that Ben. Just wondering if there has been a John Moe sighting up in the area? Everytime I ask Randy he says he hasn't heard anything from him. Quite a deal there. Later, Matt.

Great Reproducer

Here is my NiteCh female off of Tucker & The Truth Dog, we had a heck of a time getting her out of the tree but she had the coon.

I work 6pm - 6am, 7 out of 14 nights. My fiance works the exact same schedule, only she recently was moved to the 7 nights I have off. We never have a scheduled night off together and we have a 16 month old daughter. The schedule change took efffect the 1st of the year.

Last fall I was hide hunting Edge hard and thought that he'd be a lot more ready (as would I) this year for the competition hunts. I'm not sure how much time I'm going to get to hunt is all.

Weekends aren't so bad, Grandma and Grandpa usually love having her stay, but it's during the week I'm not sure I'll be able to keep him fresh, plus I work every other weekend.

I hunted Monday night and he looked good, first time out in a couple weeks. I'm going to Boone, IA this Saturday for a Walker Sectional. We'll see what happens. Maybe we'll get lucky...

As for the hot new prospect, the lunatic ("Luna"), ran and treed with Edge the other night. Nothing perfect, but definetely made me smile with what limited work she's had. Fairly hard winter made it difficult to take pups out and put them in ideal conditions for success.
