-- My perfect coon dog. (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=928539169)
My perfect coon dog.
I'm looking for a line of dogs that are kennel quiet, doesn't eat there own crap, doesn't pace in the pen, are very loud when hunted, accurate stay put tree dogs, are not mean in any way, and hunt fast. Last, but not least, great conformation, with tight feet. Is there a line of dogs anything like this?
If there is the pups would be worth at least $5000.

I don't get out much anymore but that doesn't sound like an unreasonable wish list to me.
Tree coons and do it quick. Not an idiot in the pen or an alligator in the woods. Are quality dogs that scarce these days ?

Have you been peeking in my pens.
You will have to go all the way to CT to find that

Got one and believe it or not he is a redbone.
Post that you have a female to breed and would like to find these things in a stud. You will soon realize that everyone has exactly what you are looking for.

I've owned two in the last 50 years like i described at the beginning of this post. One was a Walker male, and the other was a Bluetick female, 30 years apart. If i had those two in my pens today, i would breed them, and hunt X bred dogs, in hopes of producing more of there kind. Believe me, i do know how, few, and far between the type of hound i'm looking for is.
look in mirror
Maybe if the hound did not have to sit in the pen , all day , every day, getting bored , He would not eat his own **** , bark alot and pace in his pen. Get the dog out , run some energy off him. We humans are getting too lazy and want everything with a push of the button. We want it now and don't want to have to work for it. Then you turn around and BLAME THE BREEDER. Us humans are so spoiled now days. Back when I was a kid ect. ect.

I have a dog pretty much like the one described. Crossbreed, dont know anything about his littermates. He was 2 years old May 28. Not for sale, not at stud. I'm not planning on running all over the country hunting in hunts. He's just FUN to hunt.I looked several years to fi d a dog that suits me. Jr Steelman.
Coonbone
Yes there's some history behind them.
The sire is ch nt ch Johnson crow barr I own him. He is off Jared Lawrason crow male and his nail gyp. Barr is all you mentioned and I am very impressed with him He is a 2 year old and also has 4 wins towards grand.
The female is daul grand Johnsons she is just a trick. Off jet 9 and ch nt ch Johnson blue widdle she is from bo Dotson , smokey x Katie cross. Trick is most of what you mentioned a little hyper in the kennel but not an idiot and she is what I would call average track speed but a good strong track dog.
So I have owned some of the generation but not all. There are no garentees they will suit you in every way but they should cover most of the field

Coonbone, the top side is Walker with fighting Side and another well known dog(can't remember his name right now) and the bottom side is Black and tan with a dog called Sweet Home Alabama showing twice in the 3rd generation.

Looked at google maps. Would be a 37 hour round trip for me to travel out to get a pup, and back. That's if i don't stop to get gas, or eat.![]()
