He was a good son of a gun in every department.

Big mouth, powerhouse tree dog, and could run the hair off a coon.

You're welcome.

He would bump a little fast game on occasion, not enough to be a problem.

But he wasn't naturally straight like some of the Jobe dogs.

John

There is a litter a litter on the ground out of him, that’s why I was interested in hearing about him. I spoke with Scott Jordan also about him, really like what I’ve heard about him. I really like the old Albert bred hounds, I have had good luck with them

I thought enough of him,and that old Albert blood, that I'm picking one up Saturday at the Memorial Hunt.

I bred the first female that ever was bred to Albert.

One of the very best I ever owned was a grandpup of Albert.

These will be grandpups of Albert.

I will be getting one myself John, You also had a littermate sister to these pups mommy if I remember correctly. You lost her to snake bite? If I’m right how was she turning out for you?

I am pretty fond of the old Albert bloodline also

She was started and doing a nice job, but got bit under the eye by what I figure was a rattlesnake,

She died too quick for it to be a copperhead.

Two puncture wounds under her left eye.

Good to know
What kind off game did he run
More importantly (to me)
Did he move the tracks well
How was his mouth when he ran it

Posted by BluBritches on 01-22-2020 02:25 PM:

Garmin

I wasn't being sarcastic
The trash part is much easier to fix now than it use to be
More curious on the other traits nose mouth go ect
And would love to know how dukes pups finished out

Duke

Had a good mouth used it right and had a good nose my opinion duke was the first real coon dog Scott ever had he didn’t train him he was just natural his running junk was only thing I didn’t like I was told he could be ruff at tree but I never seen that when I hunted with him

Thank you

I like honest hands on experience
Seems when a dog dies so does their flaws
It's nice to hear from someone with hands on experience that gives a full account on the dog

Pedigree

Hey looking through this post it dawned on me, it doesn't give Dukes ped. Anyone got time to post it up? I know the bottom goes back to Smokey River and I think the top goes back to Utchman. But beings how this post is all about him might not hurt to post it up, For anyone that don't know it. Thanks

Not to butt it where I'm not supposed to be but I believe Albert was off of Broad Ax Max and Leach's Patch and Max was off of Ranger V and Dixie, just a small typo I'm sure I love this blood as I had a female directly off of old Max. It was that cross on my Bonnie female and Max that converted me to that Ranger blood. I believe that some of these Duke pups will start to turn up and may turn some heads!
