Official Grand Masters Play By Play

Hidy-ho my fellow coonhound enthusiasts!

Corey Gruver here, bringing you all of the late night action for the 2018 UKC Grand Masters Championship!

Currently, a few of the nation's top coonhounds are duking it out for positions in the illustrious Final Cast that will be departing from the Liberty, IN clubhouse approx. 2am this morning.


Fortune has smiled about two cast winners already in the 2nd round of competition. Those hounds that secured their position in the Final Cast of the Grand Masters are as follows:


NITECH CH 'PR' Steffes Whizz Bang, RED, 5, F, O- George Steffes/Keith Bowling H-Derik Simon, Edgerton, OH

GRNITECH 'PR' Mo Tea, TW, 4, M, O- Jamie Wilson, H-Jamie Wilson, Georgetown, OH


Congratulations to these hound and handler teams!


Two casts still remain to be determined, but we will bring you all of the most up to date information we can provide before the big showdown.


NOTE: This WILL be the location of the Play By Play on the UKC Forum. I will ask that all of you refrain from posting any kind of remark on this thread, in order to prevent confusion from the time line. I will post another thread where you all may cheer to your hearts content.

Word from the woods is that the raccoons have not been cooperating over the past two nights of competition like they should be

Tonight's hunt will be a test of accuracy and consistency as these hounds face off for the $15,000+!


Current temperatures out of Liberty, IN are steady in the lower 70's, with considerably overcast skies. Moisture in the area is high due to consistent rainfall over the past several days.

While conditions may seem favorable to many, the raccoons just ain't buying it. Maybe that full moon above the clouds is keeping them denned up until the epic showdown about to begin...


Time will tell, as we near the start of the Final Round of competition... stay tuned!

I could cut the tension with a dull butter knife right now... who is going to win big and walk home with the better half of $15,200!!!

Just a reminder to all of you who are tuning in, $15,200 is part of the original $20,000 pool advertised.

$4,800 has already been paid out to our first round cast winners in the event.

So, $15,200 is still left up for grabs! That would be some great spending money for what the rest of the week has in store

Before we dive in any deeper, I just wanted to inform all of you on the order the cast scores will be provided to you in.


#1 will be WHIZZ BANG


#2 will be MO TEA


#3 will be WILD BILL


and #4 will be TRINA


I will post scores frame by frame rather then coming up to an original source, that way we can keep our records nice and clean.

The Final Cast has arrived at their destination. The convoy of trucks is driving back a dirt lane, which leads to a drainage ditch about 500 yards back. The plan is to turn the dogs into a section of timber that should be loaded down with ringtails!

Whizz hasn't yet decided where she wants to take up residence. She continuse to trail between the two dogs declared treed...

The cast begins to make their way toward the majority of the dogs. The cast will make up some ground in between them and Trina has the time counts down on her tree.
