Need some advice ?
Ok I need some help who all is hunting dogs off of reezon ? I have had two out of the same litter that tree to much. I been working on this one he is loud and an impressive tree dog but when they get treed slick you can whoop them and they will not go pick the track up they are done I did see a squirrel in one tree last night it also seems that if a dog is pulling on them on track they want to try and pull up jealous treed behind them on a medium to hot track you can't ask for a better dog he is out of my granny female and my dogs are accurate never had a dog that I couldn't send off a slick and make them finish the track but I did have one off of stylish Harry that at 15 months old was one of the best dogs I ever owned and when he changed he was worse than this dog and never came out of it.
Tar
Reezen
How old is he?

He is 3 mike but he was only hunted about 30 times before I got him and and 15 of that was cage coons. His brother the guy that bought him is doing well with him I have trained hundreds of slick treeing dogs but what puzzles me is you pull them off and correct them they don't pick the track back up in their mind it's over but if I can fix him he is loud and classy. Reezon was accurate his self but he throws this pretty regular in his pups from what I was told.
Tar
Will be recast off the tree if you just pull him and send him on without the switching? If so I would try and use voice commands and tell him no and recast him. If he will recast and try and go back to tree I would start bumping him with a collar. Reezen hiself was probably as accurate as any dog could be. I’ve seen him tree a bunch of Ricky’s he would be alone a lot unless he was covered.

I only hunted two out of him but both had that trait and it didn't come from my side but in thick coons this dog would be tuff to beat he is independent and will stay treed with dogs running all around him dogs just got to work harder here.
Tar
Would thick coon make this dog more accurate or just give him more trees per night? Thin coon, 2 trees, 1 coon seen, thick coon 4 trees, 2 coon seen
Does he slick when hunted alone ?
No set pattern.
Tar
I am on my 3rd Reezen hound. All three have been what I expected. No slick, actually 2 were late on treeing and were not really competition hound caliber. Really liked them. This one I have now is gonna be tough. Not a year old yet and is nice.
Keep hunting, I can tell you this, these three hounds I’ve had would not take correcting well. They seem to pout and sulk. Handled the shocker. But I haven’t had a slick problem.
Just keep him in the timber, he will get it.

You hit the nail on the head the pouting and sulking when corrected is what I am talking about I think he is going to make me a good $$$$ hunt dog lol.

Tar. I have a 2 year old dog out of mafia and a female out of reason. I got him when he was 12 months old and had been out a couple of times. He started fast and is a nice dog but had some problem with slicks. Used the e-collar on a low setting, also he is smart so now he knows what "go find him" means and will get down and start circling the tree. Sometimes takes the track out and sometimes can't. When he can't makes me wonder if I'm missing the coon.He is pretty accurate now, probably 75 to 80%. Now here's the interesting part. We had an accidental breeding in the woods with him and we have two male pups. Both of these pups are tree monsters. On a bad track Tuesday night my pup treed 4 times behind my 2 year old. Left each time after treeing for about 5 minutes. 2 year old treed the coon on the outside and the pup was there treeing like a champ. Don't know what I'm going to do with him. He is 13 months old and has been running and treeing since 6 months.

MAYBE YOU NEED GLASSES? LOL
I wear glasses you didn't see um lol ? I think a dim light and no glasses then I could say well maybe he is there right now there is no doubt lol.
Tar
I will have Dalt check into getting you some high tech infrared glasses so you can find coons. Did you win this light at a youth hunt or are they giving those away at senior hunts lol ??

Never mind Dalton says hunting one of those Reezen dogs you are better off without much of a light you will feel better about yourself and your dog you dang sure don't want those fancy infrareds they make lenses for.

Jennifer it's on eBay Kohree 8000 lux has a 5 position switch low, medium, and high and red and green all aluminum head well built and I been testing the crap out of it Jessie seen it the other night it's bright the red and green could be a little brighter I am going to get one to give away at our hunt I have paid a lot more money for less that's for sure lol. It comes with a soft cap I mounted mine on a bump cap.
Tar
Tar, I have owned several Clover dogs that started great. The best you ever had, THEN at about 2 or 3 things changed. Slick treeing idiots and some got so mean we had to put them done in their kennels. (people mean)
Is he pulling up short or running tracks backwards ?

Donnie he is just pulling up short first tree he smells coon on he is hooked especially on a bad track then if a dog is out running him he try's to jealous tree behind them our babe female can run a bad track he can't hang with her but I really am kinda enjoying him I get bored with a consistent dog I like a challenge making something work that others would give up on I always been that way coons are still rutting here they are touching plenty of trees lol.
Roy he has a good disposition and he was treed across the river the other night I hollerd one time and he swam right to me he has some good qualities I get him right he will be a good old man dog lol.
Tar
Don't think I've ever had one good enough to get bored with lol
