Wipeout hounds
At what age do wipeout bred hounds start ?? What age do they finish ? Heard they are late bloomers....
What are some characteristics and traits known of wipeout bred hounds?
Wipeout Hounds
The BEST things about the Wipeout dogs is they tree real coons, not a bunch of slick trees...

I am no expert on them but I have a 17 month old pup and she is starting to pick it up pretty good. I just started hunting her a month or so ago and she will run a track like she is tied to it and will tree if its a real hot track, colder tacks, or slicks she will mill around the tree and wont mess with it. She is still pretty trashy but we are working on that, at this point she will run the first track she hits. She also was left to run around a farm with minimal supervision until she was about 8 months old so I think that helped her a lot especially begin comfortable in the woods. Seems like most dogs wont start until they get pretty comfortable being in the woods and going through the motions of a hunt.

Ages
What ages can I expect to see that ?
Depends on many factors. A friend of mine has one been running and treeing coons around the time it turned a year old, alone. The more a hound is in woods determines that alot. Repeated hunting sessions is key factor. Some dogs start earlier than others even if their out of same litter. Just gotta be patient and keep taking them out. Sometimes the later starters excelled far above the early starters. Gotta keep at it,dogs aren't made in couple weeks time. It takes a season or two sometimes, which is a year or more of consistent hunting. Wipeout is good stuff for winning world championships, trucks, four Wheelers, and $$$$$. They rule the roost in coondogs.
I have one that is 3 yrs old. Got him at 9 months. Showed him his first Coon at ten months old he treed it and has been treeing real live coons since easiest starting pup I have ever messed with. Not saying we didn't have a rough spot or two but he never stopped treeing coons.

Here is a picture I took yesterday afternoon of an old and wore out Wipeout female out of Zeb Again.
This female is 8 years old and I have had her for about half of those years and she has never seen a thyroid pill.
This year in PKC she finishing in the top 16 in IN with right at $1800 won. She won a truck ticket for the Senior Truck Hunt next spring. She just came back from the PKC world hunt where she was hunted one night and won early with 400 plus points and lost late because after treeing a coon she decided to tree a slick persimmon tree. Don't think the Thyroid had anything to do with that. This dog is near perfect around the house. She has had two litters and a 3rd place SS winner came from the first litter. Her total winnings I am not sure of as they keep adding up but around $14,000 is probably a good guess.
So before anyone lumps all Wipeout dogs as needing Thyroid pills please do some more research. I have also had several others that never saw a Thyroid Pill either.

Most of the ones that are in the final fours of the major hunts are on them no need to give them to the ones that ground pound and can't win lol.
I am off all day today bring it on !!
My wife is on thyroid medicine, she the best wife in the world, all my hunting buds love to come over and hunt and hang out, she cooks for us, always has a coffee in her hand for you and some goody's. Man if you guys have a woman like this your lucky, you need to change your name to Lucky. I'm not getting rid of her no way, and if I get a Wipeout dog that needs put on thyroid medicine, that will be ok with me, I'm sticking with the Wipeout dogs, and the wife I have I'm not getting rid of her because she is on THYROID MEDICINE... You would have to know more about dogs then I do to convince me that you have better dogs then the WIPEOUT strain.......
Bruce, Man that is a good looking bitch, You say she is out of Zeb Again. What is the mother? and did you ever breed her to Blaze? Out of all the Wipeout dogs in the country I like Wipeout Blaze as good as any. You need to haul him over to Yakintar's house and Blow him completely out of the timber! HeHeHeHe! LOL!!!!!
He don't want none of fearless Fred !!
.
Ed this female has been bred twice to my knowledge. First time to the juggernut dog (hope i have that right). Then just over two years ago to blaze. The books say breed quality hounds and family breed them. It dont work for me. Her litter from blaze did not impress me. Couple medicore pups and a couple culls. The best crosses we have made on blaze is to females with some sackett junior blood. Blaze brings excellent hunt and tracking with big mouths and is a solid tree dog himself. But the females with a lot of tree work best on him. I havr a male pup here that is just 4 months old but is heavy sackett out of Molls Sockett dog. If he does well plan on breeding to shine late next year. He has the same looks she does and has a nice bawl mouth.
Shines Mom is out of backwater stroker and skuna river female.

Yepper that yadkinriver blood has been used a lot to fix the holes in other bloodlines why you think all those lipper females were bred to rattler 🎃
.
Actually Tar I look at it the other way around. A lot of accurate track hounds from the wipeout breed have plugged several holes in some slick treeing bloodlines. Tar most men will never breed for balance because of egos. Most of the time what you need to balance your dogs is in someones elses pen. But you breed your own line till you box it into a corner. Lots of good dogs out there from several lines. Doesnt hurt to go with the best even if its in your buddies pen.

Same reason they bred them tight mouth females to Lipper to start with, gonna improve the breed. Their doing the same again, right now. Mr Kiddy saw where it was headed then and bred accordingly so he wouldn't have the ordinary coonhounds that competition breeders were breeding toward. He turned back to the old style tracking dogs and culled accordingly. The other kept going with no tracking, quick tree breeding dogs.So now we have all this controversy over a thyroiditis. If on pill is causing the wipeout dogs to win all these trucks, four Wheelers, money, and producing world champion after world champion then all them other big time competition breeders might better start giving them to their hounds. Maybe then they'll be able to beat them, not likely gonna happen though. It would take decades to get back what is lost, starting back in early eighty's. So now we got coomon ordinary dog;--- deep and lonely, babble, pop up,grd nt cup, gold chp, dog.
Then we got this is dog on drugs ; equals world champion, over and over. Don't be fooled by all the hype. I know dogs can be souped up,and seen how when I handled in hunts, but please!!!
The yadkinriver dogs were popular way before the wipeout dogs were ever thought of. The only thing that makes the wipeout dogs popular in the $kc is the leash lock rule they have been built on that rule babble for a 100 strike keep it open blow deep tree a hot pop up even if you tree a coon behind them your beat only reason you seen bigger scores at this years world hunt is because of the coon rich enviorment coons running everywhere bring them big blubber mouth blow deep suckers down here you get back to the truck you won't like wipeout no more all afoot no buggys no driving around and I ain't got to drive 16 hrs take a week off of work spend $1,500 to walk my guts out to say I was at the world hunt I don't sell supplies I train coondogs by the way there is a 2 yr old in my back yard that made it to the world hunt this year out of 5 generations of my stuff and I told you ahead of time he would you can't snow the snow man go to no leash lock in pkc there would be a big line in doggie heaven.
Team player tar.
Talk about dogs babbling lol

Tar guess we agree on one thing. I am not a fan of being leashed locked. I also think the dog should be penelized the fist time back on the same tree.

Just trying to get you back interested in the board Bruce lol. No that leash lock rule causes to much unessasary walking and it takes a lot of the hunters that help build the kc's out of the game I don't care what style of dogs people hunt really I can train a dog to just tree more coons than them but I don't like to be on the leash after my dog treed a coon close and had second strike and walk the hunt out to a dog over a mile in score their coon hunts over they built the dogs of today to fit leash locking you. If you remember I predicted ahead of time when I was hunting fly no leash lock I could win consistantly with 25 strike and a 100 tree and I did!!
Sorry for hijacking your thread you knew I was joking anyway I have lost my touch lol.
Ps:hardest thing I have done is to try to train one you walk 30 seconds from the tree and cast with a tree dog it's tuff.
